- A few Canaanite jars reached Greece. Most of
these look like the eighty-odd found in a warehouse of the port
district of ancient Ugarit (14), with their angular shoulders and
light-colored clay. The site of Ugarit is near modern Latakia in
Syria; evidently this variety is the produce of northern
Canaan.
