One Sleepy Boy (3/13/1999)
One Sleepy Boy (3/13/1999)

03/01/99, Tuesday - Great Quotes, Sounds Heard
(age: 2 year, 3 month, 9 days)
Sometimes the interaction between Christopher and Nicole is priceless. Yesterday at the kitchen table we somehow got into a conversation about hair color. Nicole told Christopher that his hair was blonde. He very swiftly replied "No! Not blonde. Yellow!"

Christopher still suffers from Lactose intolerance, but he is now old enough to take the chewable pills. It's really helped out a lot. He loves cheese and ice cream. When he takes the pills, he has no trouble with them.

Christopher does have a problem with is mouth though. He must imagine that it's bigger than it is. He isn't happy at the dinner table unless it's stuffed like a chipmunk with food. "Doesn't he choke?" I hear you ask. Well, yes he does but he likes to stuff anyway. Oh well, another challenge for us parents. Teaching him to take small bites.

Sound has really become important to Christopher over the last couple of weeks. Every remote sound elicits a "What that noise?" response from him. He is also very aware of sirens and thunder now. It's really cute when he comes running down the hall after hearing a loud sound saying "I scared, I scared"

03/06/99, Saturday - What's in his ears?
(age: 2 year, 3 month, 17 days)
Christopher has an ear infection. How can we tell? Because he told us he hears Harold and Percy in one ear and Thomas in the other. Those are characters from his beloved "Thomas the Tank Engine" TV show. It makes sense. Harold is the helicopter. With his ears blocked, it probably did sound like the roar of a helicopter in there.

03/17/99, Wednesday - So Smart!
(age: 2 year, 3 month, 28 days)
Christopher was the first to notice when I had arrived home from work last night. He came running yelling "Daddy's home!" He jumped into my arms and wrapped himself around my neck. It was wonderful. I carried him into the livingroom where Nicole was watching television. I sat down on the couch, Christopher still attached, and Nicole then noticed I was home. She came and jumped onto my lap which upset Christopher. Nicole fought to stay on while Christopher was trying to push her off and, at the same time, grabbing my neck harder. The skirmish went on for a few minutes. I was trying to get both of them to "share" me. It eventually settled down, just in time to keep me from chocking! I was very flattered by the attention, though.

Monday Tina was talking to Christopher and said "You're so cute!" He then replied "And smart!". I think he might have gotten that from Blue's Clues on TV. I'm not sure. He is right, however!

03/22/99, Monday - New Truck!
(age: 2 year, 4 month, 2 days)
Last night one headlight in my truck burned out. So we packed up the kids and headed to Walmart. While there Christopher found a big truck that he loved. We decided to go ahead and get it for him. The rest of the evening it never left his side. He insisted on holding it while we read bedtime stories and, of course, it went to bed with him too. Christopher laid down and I covered him with a blanket. He grabbed the corner of the blanket and extended it around the truck. He then went happily to sleep.

03/31/99, Wednesday - School Performance, One White Pillow
(age: 2 year, 4 month, 11 days)
Last Thursday night was the annual open house at the kids' school. Each age level performed for the parents and it was really cute. Christopher's class performed first. Unfortunately they had problems with the sound system that caused loud feedback. That upset Christopher and he spent the time it took to fix the problem in his teacher's arms. Needless to say he wasn't in the best of moods to perform but he still did a good job and seemed to enjoy the songs.

The other day Tina did laundry and washed Christopher's sheets, pillow and pillow case. Later she asked Christopher to take the pillow and put it in his room. Christopher was very happy to do so, putting it nicely on his bed. At nap time Tina went to put the Mickey Mouse case on the pillow but Christopher wouldn't have it. He wanted to sleep on the "fluffy white pillow". Ever since then he's been sleeping on that fluffy white pillow.
