Christopher's School Picture (1/14/2000) 01/07/2000, Friday - Out of Bed Excuses. Buzz.
(age: 3 years, 1 month, 18 days)
Christopher loves to come up with excuses to get out of bed at night. The other night he came out saying "I need to go potty". Since he's potty training, we want to encourage this, so we took him. A few minutes after putting him back to bed "I have to go potty again". The "I need to blow my nose". With that some of his toys got taken away. That didn't stop him. Out he came with "I need to blow my nose again". He had this little twinkle in his eye that you could tell he was enjoying this little game. We're getting pretty strict with him now.

Christopher is really into Buzz Light Year now (from Disney's Toy Story & Toy Story 2). Just yesterday Tina found a good sale on Buzz Light Year tennis shoes. Just $7. He's in heaven.

Christopher with his Furby (1/2/2000) 01/12/2000, Wednesday - Fun with Furby
(age: 3 years, 1 month, 23 days)
Both Christopher and Nicole each got a Furby for Christmas from their Oma. They love playing with them. Christopher is especially funny with his Furby. When the Furby starts to go to sleep it will snore. On many occations Christopher will hear it and then yell "Oh no! Not again!" He'll then run over to the Furby saying "I must wake him". He'll then proceed to shake the Furby violently as the Furby yells "whooooooa!" It can be very funny.

Christopher loves to figure out how things work. The other day he took his Furby, pulled down on its beak to expose some of the internals. He then said "See those white strings? Those make his mouth move". Pretty smart kid!

01/20/2000, Wednesday - New Undies
(age: 3 years, 2 months, 0 days)
Tina found some Buzz Light Year (Disney) underwear for Christopher. He was so excited he wanted to put them on right in the store. Tina wouldn't allow that, but she did let him carry them around. Christopher was intent on wearing them, trying to put his arms through the holes. Anyway, he ended up with them on his head like a hat. What a sight.

01/25/2000, Tuesday - Waking Up
(age: 3 years, 2 months, 5 days)
On Sunday I was in the computer room across from Christopher's room when he woke up from his afternoon nap. He came across the hall, flung the door open and with a drowsy, it's-to-bright-in-here look on his face he exclaimed, "I can't sleep any more". I opened my arms and told him he didn't have to. He crawled into my lap and snuggled into my shoulder. We rocked like that for quite a while. Then he whispered, "May I have a pretzil?". I had a bowl of them on the desk. So I gave him one and he continued to snuggle. Only crunchier now. I really enjoyed that moment.

01/31/2000, Monday - Playing Woody
(age: 3 years, 2 months, 11 days)
On Saturday we spent some time at the mall. They only place the kids are interested in visiting is the toy store. So, of course, we spent a lot of time there. Christopher became immediately attached to a Woody doll (cowboy from Toy Story movies). I had to buy it for him (it was only $3.50), because he carried it around the store quoting lines from the movie with a perfect western accent:

"You're my favorite deputy"
"Everybody in the water hole!"
(it's supposed to be 'somebody poisoned the water hole')

Favorite Movies-T.V./Characters:

Toy Story 2: Buzz Light Year. He's really enjoying both the movie and the Buzz toys. He also got Buzz Light Year tennis shoes.
Thomas the Tank Engine
Also likes most Disney preschool shows (Out of the Box, Rollie Pollie Ollie, Bear in the Big Blue House, etc.)
Likes animal shows (Kratts Creatures, Zoobomafoo, Amazing Animals, etc.)
"Dragon Tales" is a new show they like on PBS.

Favorite Activities:

Playing with trains (Brio & Thomas sets)
Loves being outside - The weather's beautiful now!
Loves to be swung on the swings (daddy pushes him high!)
Loves Hot Wheels cars. He can "read" the logo so he knows which ones are the real thing.
Computer Games: Little Mermaid, Virtual Catz
