The next day came sooner then Maron expected. They all piled in the car, with Mrs. Henderson driving. They ended up parking in front of a building, which is famous to all witches and wizards (maybe you're even familiar with it), the Leaky Cauldron. The building was tall, and red bricks encircled it. If you hadn't been there before, you might not even know where the door was. It was small and round, big enough for one person to fit through. As all the Hendersons stepped inside, Mrs. Henderson began shaking hands and became engulfed in conversation with some people. Some people even said hi and shook hands with Emma and Henry, and a few people smiled at Maron, though she didn't know who they were.

Then the excitement came. Mrs. Henderson brought the family over to one of the walls. She pulled out her wand, tapped on some bricks, and lo and behold, the wall moved and became an entrance… something Maron had never seen before. "Welcome to Diagon Alley!" Mrs. Henderson spilled out with a smile. Maron exchanged a smile.

"Now Maron, go along with Emma and Henry. They'll show you where all the shops are. I'm going to go have a cup of tea with your father. Oh yes Emma, don't forget to go to Gringotts. Vault 735. Don't forget!"

"I know Mum. Don't you worry." Emma cried after her. "Come on guys. Let's go to the bookstore first."

"What so special about coming here for books? You can just get them at Barns and Noble or something like that. Why'd we have to come all the way here for them?" Maron couldn't help spitting out all her questions.

"Oh Maron, you really don't understand, do you. Well, first of all, dad's a muggle." Henry tried to explain.

"A what?" Maron sputtered.

"A muggle. It's the wizard term for non-magical people. So we call the non-magical world "the muggle world", naturally. This here is Diagon Alley, the only place in the world for wizards and witches to get their supplies for school. Muggles aren't allowed here. See, over there. That's a shop for duel monster decks. And up ahead there. That's a shop for brooms. It's the same thing with the bookstore. It's not just your ordinary bookstore. It carries wizard books with spells and enchantments. I can see you've got an awful lot to learn this year."

They continued onto the bookstore where they were welcomed. "Now, Maron, lemme see what books are on your list. Ah! You'll find your duel monsters books here. And your Pokémon books over here. And magic books right there. Say, why don't we start in the Duel Monsters section. Let's see… here's Pokémon and Duel Monsters Guide Book, by Tristan Taylor. That one's on your list. And over there, that's To Be the King of Games, by Maxamillion Pegasus. Why I remember reading that book for my first year. Brilliant book. Taught me a lot, you know. Let's go and check out the Pokémon section now. Hold the list for me please? All right, here's To Be a Pokémon Master, by Gary Oak. Great book as well. What's your next book?"

"History of Pokémonster Magic, by Daiki Askuka." Maron replied.

"Right. History of Pokémoster Magic, by… who?"

"Daiki Asuka." Maron firmly stated.

"Right. Here! There you go. That must be a new book. Anyways, next?"

"Magic section, Commands and Their Causes, by Weevil Underwood.

"Okie dokie. Next?"

"Potions Guide, by Yuu Matsura. That's right here. And Transforming Magical Creatures, by Chiaki Nagoya is here. But I can't find Dark Magic and Their Powerful Wizards, by Darien Shields. Got any clues?"

"Erm, lemme find Emma. She'll know."

They combed about half of the library before they finally found Emma. She was engulfed in one of her new books entitled Magic Tails, by Miaka Yuki. "Hey Em! We can't find one of the books on Maron's list. Think you could help us?"

She looked up from her book and grabbed the list out of Henry's hands. "That direction." She pointed in the opposite direction they had come from. "You'll find it about halfway down, next to Dark Wizarding Marks."

She thrust the paper back into Henry's hands, and Maron and Henry went off in the direction Emma had pointed to. Emma was right. The book was about halfway down the row right next to Dark Wizarding Marks. Henry paid for Maron's books with his leftover money, and the trio set off towards the Duel Monsters shop. When they had walked in, they saw several people buying cards to enhance their deck.

"This is a duel monsters card?" Maron questioned, fascinated as she picked up the card and looked it over.

"Yep." Henry beamed. Duel Monsters was his favorite class, and it was rare that he ever lost a duel. Emma on the other hand rolled her eyes. She wasn't very fond of dueling. She was more of a Pokémon fanatic.

"That's a good card there too. You're gonna need to have a good deck to duel. Maybe you should get that card. It'll help in the end. It's the legendary Blue Eyes White Dragon. It's a beauty. I've got two of those." Henry added. Maron placed the card into her basket and walked through the isle of cards. She picked out numerous cards with help from Henry.

Maron had fifty cards when they were done shopping. They paid for her new deck, and left. "That's gonna be one hard deck for your fellow first years to beat. You've just gotta learn how to use every card correctly, but they'll teach you that in school. Of course, you could always consult your To Be the King of Games book."

They headed on down the alleyway to the Pokémon shop. Mr. Mime was the owner of the shop. "Mime!" Mr. Mime cheered as they walked in.

Maron looked around at all the different poke balls. "Why are there so many of these balls?" Maron questioned.

"They're poké balls. Each ball contains a different pokémon. Give it a swing and see which one it is." Emma replied. Maron swung the ball in front of her and a mysterious mouse-like creature appeared in front of her. "You lucked out! It's a pikachu." Emma pulled a square shaped, red object from her pocket.

"What's that?"

"It's a pokédex. You click the open button and it pops open. See here it says my name. And over there is the number of pokémon I have seen. And here is the number I've caught or bought." Emma answered. "Eventually, the pokédex becomes one of your best friends through the years, and you can even name it whatever you want!"

"What's yours called?"

"My pokédex has a special name; Hillari."

"That's awesome. And it talks?"

"Yep. All Hogwarts students have to have one. See, it's even on your list. Henry has one too. But his is named Bob. He couldn't think of a name for it, so he gave it your average ordinary name. Let's see what Hillari has to say about your pikachu."

"Pikachu, this super-cute lightening mouse is by far the most famous pokémon
of all. Pikachu can zap it's opponent with it's electric power just by squeezing
  it's cheeks."

"Right, and it says here in my Pokéinfo section that pikachu can be moody and shy, so it may take a while to get used to a new trainer. They dislike poké balls because it makes them scared, so try your hardest to give it as much fresh air as you can. AWWWWWWW! It's so cute!"

"Don't you already have a pikachu?"

"You wish. Pikachus are hard for first pokémon. My first pokémon was poliwag. But now it's been with me for five years, so it's evolved over time into poliwhirl, and now it's a poliwrath. After training your pokémon hard, and using them for battles over and over again, your pokémon will evolve also. You just gotta take good care of them. I think a pikachu would be a great experience for a first pokémon, and you never know what you could get out of it."

"Alright. I'll take it then."

"You'll need more then one pokémon, of course. If pikachu runs out of energy in the middle of a battle, you'll need at least three alternatives. Go on. Choose three more." Maron wandered further and further around the shop. Finally she stopped at a shiny ball that looked as though it was calling her name. She picked it up and gave it a swing. And lo and behold-

"A cyndaquil! Hillari?"

"Cyndaquil. It is timid and always curls itself up in a ball. If attacked,
it flares up for protection. A really great first pokémon, you know.
It evolves into Quilava, and then into Typhlosion."

"Wow, Maron. I guess it's your lucky day! You're picking out a lot of good ones. Add it to your cart." They walked further and further into the shop. Maron picked up two more pokémon as they went; a hitmontop and a corsola. They also got a few pokéballs and Maron's new pokédex.

"I like the name Angel." Maron announced. And so, her pokédex was to be called Angel. The trio went on to get robes, cauldrons, and wands, and then they were homeward bound.
