The Henderson's headed back to their house after their long and adventurous journey in Diagon Alley. The next morning, Maron woke up to a hot, sunny morning, September 1st, the date she was to arrive at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She was very excited, but awe swarmed all through her as she thought about the fact that she would be alone in some faraway school until June. Maron bustled out of bed and down into the kitchen, where she found the bright and early faces belonging to her mother, father, brother, and sister. She took a seat next to her brother, and helped herself to some pancakes.
"You excited?" Henry questioned.
"Very." Maron replied.
"We board the Hogwarts express at ten, so we'll arrive at school at twelve."
"Alright, I'm gonna go to my room and get all my stuff packed." Maron hurried upstairs to her room and gathered all her belongings, which she will need for her year at school. Soon after, all the Henderson's had their stuff together, and found themselves walking out the door, into the car, and stepping onto platform two and a half. They boarded the train, and off to school.
Maron put her luggage on a rack in a compartment, and sat down, bored.
"Maron!" A voice cried. Maron looked up to find-
"YUGI! Long time no see! What are you doing here?" Maron cried back.
"What are you doing here?" They smiled and then embraced each other.
"You're going to Hogwarts as well?"
"Sure about it! Joey's here too! Come with me. We're in a compartment down further."
Yugi led the way to Joey, in compartment twenty four.
"Joey!" Maron cried.
"Maron! What's up girlie?" Joey laughed. "I can't believe it! We all managed to go to the same school without even knowing it! Whadduya know!?"
"Say, I can't wait till our first duel monsters class. That'll be awesome." Yugi stated.
"I agree. I'm looking forward to both pokémon and duel mon- Oh no! I just remembered! I left my dueling deck at home!" Maron cried.
"That's a shame. Maybe you can send an owl or something to your parents. Here, we can borrow Joey's sister's owl, that is if she doesn't mind." Yugi solemnly added.
"Serenity never minds. Go ahead. It's for your own good." Joey said.
"Thanks Joey, you're a pal." Maron added. "Right, so Yugi, how do I work this thing?"
"All you've got to do is write your
message, hook it onto the owl's leg, and
off it goes."
"Thanks. You got any spare parchment?"
"Right here." Joey handed Maron
a piece of parchment.
"Right, so, what should I write? Dear
mom and dad, I left my duel monsters deck
in my drawer. Send it to me ASAP please.
Love, Maron." She scribbled it down
quickly, and attached it to the owl, sending
it out through the window. "So what
kinds of things are there to do here? We
have to kill two hours, you know."
"Well, all I know is that later they'll
be coming around with some sort of fabulous
food tray. I can't wait! I'm starving!"
Joey stated.
"Oh Joey, don't you think of anything
else but food? I say we go meet some of
the kids in our grade." Yugi recommended.
"Sounds like a plan to me." Maron
agreed.
"Alright." Joey gave in. "I
guess I agree. Serenity's gone to do the
same thing. I saw her wondering around with
a bunch of girls I never saw before. I guess
it's not a bad idea."
"There are so many people on this
train. How are we going to be able to tell
who's a first year and who's not?"
"Simple, Maron. Just look at everyone's
face, and if they seem puzzled or lost,
or even remotely interesting, you go up
and introduce yourself, even if they aren't
a first year." Joey said.
"Not a bad a idea, Joey, for once in
your life." Yugi and Maron agreed in
unison. Then they all laughed. They opened
the door to their compartment, and started
out.
"Over there." Joey pointed. "A
lost kid. Let's go check him out."
They strode over to the kid, who was gazing
out the window. "Hey little fella."
Joey extended his hand with Maron and Yugi
right behind him. "You a first year?"
"Yes." The boy said.
"Awesome! So am I. Hey fella, I'm Joey
Wheeler, and this here is my buddie, Yugi
Motou." He gestured to Yugi, and Yugi
smiled and waved. "And Maron Henderson
here." Maron smiled.
"And you?" Maron questioned.
"Er, Harry Potter." The boy said.
"HARRY POTTER?!" Yugi exclaimed.
"I've heard of you. You're the one
with the scar on your forehead, right? I
read about you in the books, but I never
though you were real." The boy just
blushed.
"You wanna hang with us kid?"
Joey asked.
"Alright. I haven't made any friends
myself. How do you all know each other?"
"We're best buds, all of us. We've
known each other since we were like two."
Joey said. "Come join us."
"Thanks." Harry shook Joey's hand
and smiled.
"We're about a half hour from Hogwarts.
A young lady will be coming around with
food for all you hungry ones." Boomed
the announcer from the loudspeaker. Just
then, a couple of kids ran by Joey, knocking
a couple of books out of his hands.
"Are you alright?" A voice came
as Maron, Harry, Yugi, and Joey all went
to pick up Joey's fallen books.
"Fine." Joey said. Then he looked
up. If you had seen his face then, you would
have laughed so hard. He went bright red,
as bright as a tomato.
"I'm Ranma Satome, and these are my
two pals, Zoe Freedman and
Jessica Zimmenski." The girl smiled
and bent down to shake hands with
Joey.
"I'm Joey Wheeler." He said, almost
memorized.
"You a first year?" She questioned.
"Yeah."
"You'll have a lot of fun this year.
We're a second years. We're on the Growlbord
quidditch team. You might see us in the
air one day." She smiled, then giggled,
and handed Joey his books.
"Wow" was all Joey managed to
get out as she walked away.
"Right. So now that we've found Joey
a partner for the ball!" Maron started.
"There's a ball?" Joey burst in.
"Sure! Haven't you ever heard of the annual Hogwarts Yule Ball?" Harry asked.
"No, but I can't wait. I have a feeling I'm gonna love this school."
