CL Interview by ABdA

Each time in this column we interview a CL. Through this column, we hope homesteaders can know our CLs better and build a closer relationship. She's a Tokyo co-Liaison for Ginza and was the CL of the month for July 1998.    A: : ABdA   R : Ruk

A: Hi Ruk! I know this is long-overdue, but I believe you should be featured in this Ezine! Please answer the following questions, as briefly or as lengthy as you want! First of all, what is your real name? And when were you born? How was your childhood?
R: Name: Beia Lapa. . . When born? March 5, 1977. . . Well, it's not perfect but I guess we all learn a lot of very important things from our childhood.
A: What is your background? How have you become what you are in the world today?
R: Well, basically I'm a graduate of BA Behavioral Studies from the University of the Philippines Manila and I'm currently looking for a job, but I used to work as an account executive at a packaging company. I speak fluent English and Filipino and I'm currently studying Japanese at the Nihonggo Center, a school recommended by the Japanese Embassy. I also plan to study Mandarin, as well as take a few units on the Oracle program and SAP, then get a masters' degree on marketing and a doctorate, in the near future.

My hobbies would include anime and video games. My favorite anime is Fushigi Yuugi and Neon Genesis Evangelion, but I do have a Bishoujo Senshi SailorUranus page. As for video games, my all-time favorite would be Final Fantasy VII, of course.
A: When did you join the Tokyo CL's and what made you make that decision?
R: I formally became a CL on October 31, 1997. I think I was the first Tokyo CL who had to undergo CL training, which was really worth it. As for my inspiration, I should be crediting Rowena Lim, a fellow Filipino CL. She helped me start my very first page, which is in GeoCities, and she's now also a very close friend of mine. I decided I wanted to do what she was doing, like helping other people out because not only do I feel a great satisfaction in knowing I contributed to another person's learning but I also gain friends.
