Noriko was discussing about her dream with her friends in the classroom. It was a dream about scenery of another world. As they were walking down the street, Noriko's friends teased her about her 'obsession' to go to another world. Then, a ball bounced past Noriko. Noriko offers to pick up the ball for the owner and started chasing it. She finally caught the ball near a lamppost, where she saw a paper bag beside it. At this moment, the paper bag exploded. Noriko was caught in that explosion and a few moments later, the police and Noriko's friends arrived at the scene.

Noriko's friends tried to look for her as they explained to the police that Noriko was standing at where the explosion took place a moment ago. At this moment, Noriko floating in a mist, trying to call out to her friends. Soon, she drifted further and further away from her friends. Then, she felt warmth and comfort under her and thought that she was dreaming in her bed. Suddenly, Noriko saw a change of scenery. She saw the people of the another world talking with a serious expression. They were saying that Mezame is going to appear.

Noriko woke up and realised that she was in a strange place. Above her were huge roots of a strange tree and below was a golden carpet of undergrowth. She thought she was dreaming again and pinched herself. But she felt the pain. Noriko started shouting for her friends and family. From a distance away, a man watched her movements. Noriko calmed down and started recalling what had happened just now. At this moment, a huge worm swoops down the tree and ate up an animal, which had just scrambled down the tree. Noriko was terrified.

Just as the worm approaches her, a man suddenly appeared and carried Noriko away. He then sliced the worm into two with his sword. Noriko screamed and ran towards the man and hugged him. A few moments later, Noriko stopped panicking and started wondering whom she was hugging. She looked at the man who had saved her but the man pushed her away. Noriko started explaining why she had hugged him just now. However, the man replied in another language: "I do not understand what you said. It should not happen this way..."

At this moment, there were some flying dragons hovering above the trees of the forest. They were discussing about whether to land and enter the forest or not. One warned that there are dangerous creatures that will attack human in the forest and if one of the creatures is killed, the juice that will flow out creature's body will attract all the others to attack them. Another said that if they do not land, they would not be able to capture Mezame.

At this moment, the man shouted, "Run!" and grabbed Noriko's hand and started running. As they were running, many huge worms appeared to attack them. The man kept wielding his sword with one hand and started killing all the worms that obstructed them. Suddenly, the man bent down and carried Noriko. Noriko was shocked. The man suddenly leaps over the worms and started running again. "He can leap so far and high...and he's carrying me. He runs very fast too.", Noriko thought. The man suddenly jumped into a deep hole and landed on his feet. Only one of the worms followed them. Noriko saw the worm struggling and then it stopped moving.

The man explained that the worms will not followed them into the hole in his language and stood up. Noriko did not understand what he said and asked him not to leave her alone as she tried to stand up. But her legs did not listen to her command. Noriko felt very sad that she was trapped in this frightening world and started crying.
"Noriko!"
Noriko turned and saw her friends. She started saying about her frightening experience in another world. Noriko's friends laughed at her and told her she was dreaming again. Noriko felt relief upon hearing that.

When Noriko opened her eyes, she saw the dead worm. She screamed and got up and ran. She bumped into somebody. The 'somebody' was the man who saved her and he scolded her for trying to crash into the wall. Noriko looked at the surroundings and realised that this was the reality. The man pushed her away and started chopping the wood with his sword. "Why am I doing this?", the man mumbled. Noriko looked at what he was doing and saw him making a raft.

Noriko tried to recall what had happened just now. She remembered that she cried and then the man turned and looked at her with a worried expression. He then sat beside her but he did not look at her. However, Noriko felt comforted and relief and fell asleep. She thought that she had cause troubles to him and decided that she shall follow him.

On the raft, when the surroundings became a total darkness, Noriko started screaming. Frustrated, the man lighted up a huge wick (?) and gave it to Noriko. Noriko started wondering how he lighted the wick and how she is going to survive in this strange world.
"My name is Noriko, Noriko Tachiki. Noriko, Noriko, Noriko, you?", Noriko suddenly said and pointed the man.
"Mezame should cause chaos to this world but why is this Mezame so innocent that she wants to know my name. My name is Izark, Izark Kia Tarj, Noriko.", Izark replied.
At this moment, there was a battle between the flying dragon riders of different countries.

Izark suddenly carried Noriko and jumped off the raft, the raft was swashed down the waterfall. Holding the wick, Izark commanded Noriko not to move around and walked away. Alone, Noriko heard some noise and decided to find the cause of it. However, as she could not see in the darkness, she fell into a puddle of water. Izark saw Noriko and told her to change into his clothes but his clothes were too large for her. Izark threw Noriko's wet uniform down the waterfall before Noriko was able to stop him.

"I been finding a spot to throw away your things and here is a good place where they will not be discovered. Even if I tell you, you won't understand! Many people are looking for Mezame and Mezame is you! Strange things will arouse suspicion and if you don't want to be involve in battle of all the countries, throw away all your things!", Izark said and turned and grabbed her bag. Noriko at first refuses to gave Izark her bag but finally she decided that she should listen to him since she had decided to follow him.
"Is this girl really Mezame?", Izark thought as he pushed a huge rock that blocked the exit of the tunnel. "If she really is Mezame, one day, I would have to kill her."

Izark and Noriko walked along the narrow path of the cliff. Noriko was frightened and fell down cliff. Izark grabbed her hand and used his body to protect her as they slided down the cliff. Fangs appeared in his mouth and suddenly, he jumped away from the cliff and landed on some bushes.
"Why do I have to do this?", Izark mumbled.
Noriko sat up and could not believe that she had survived from such a great fall. She quickly apologised to Izark and fell down from the bushes. She found a wheel among the bushes and told Izark. At the same time, Noriko saw that Izark's clothes were tattered due to the fall just now.

Izark walked around the area and found an injured man lying unconscious on the ground. Izark check his injuries and went off looking for herbs to cure his wound while Noriko stayed behind to look after the injured man. At this moment, the man woke up and tried to ask for some water, however Noriko did not understand. Just when Noriko tried to call for Izark, a bandit chief appeared and kicked the injured man. As the bandit chief tried to kill the injured man, Noriko shouted for Izark. Izark returned and stopped the bandit chief. The injured man told Izark that the bandits had attacked the traders last night but he managed to escape and landed injured.

Since Izark was a wandering swordsman, he had to fight with the bandit chief. Although the bandit chief knew teleportation, Izark still manage to wound him before the bandit chief managed to escaped by teleportation. Noriko was astonished by Izark's sword skill. Izark tended to the man's wounds and when the injured man heard Noriko speaking in another language, he thought Noriko came from the islands in the west. Izark lied that Noriko got lost when trying to migrate to the mainland. While they were talking, Noriko decided to learn the language of this world. The injured man was a clothes trader and he tried to sell clothes to Izark. Izark bargained with him and bought a set of ladies wear for Noriko.

The three of them set off to a nearby town. On the way, the trader taught Noriko how to speak in their language. At the doctor's house in the town, there were a lot of dead soldiers. The three of them saw that(Noriko was shocked to see that) and asked the doctor why there are so many dead soldiers. The doctor told them that Mezame whom will awaken Tenjoki had appeared and the soldiers were the ones who had just returned from the place that Mezame had appeared as he tended to the trader. Just then, some guards (soldiers) appeared. They demanded to check the bags of the three of them. Izark somehow extinguished the fire in the lantern in the house and in the darkness he quickly took out something in his bag. The soldiers shouted for someone to light the lantern. They later searched the bags of the three and found nothing suspicious.

Meanwhile, in Rienka, Agol was explaining to Rachef why they had failed to capture Mezame. Agol told Rachef that a very powerful person had brought Mezame away and even Keimos was amazed by how strong the person was (the bodies of the worms indicated that). Rachef asked Gina (Agol's daughter who was blind) to predict something about Mezame. Gina told him that no one from any country had found Mezame yet. Gina told Agol that she felt frightened in front of Rachef when they left.

Izark and Noriko went to an inn. Noriko noticed that Izark looked tired and wonders if it was because of seeing the dead soldiers. As Izark and Noriko went into a room, Noriko started thinking that they should not sleep in a same room. However, on the second thoughts, she thought it was alright since they had also slept together in the wilderness together last night. Izark return the pen and a diary to Noriko when Noriko tried to ask if he was feeling okay. The pen and diary was the only thing that Izark had left for Noriko (also what he hid from the soldiers). The next morning, Izark woke up and felt weak. Just when Noriko greeted him, he suddenly fell and lay on the floor. Noriko ran over to his side and ask if he was all right. However, Izark shouted, "Get away from me!"...
