November 23, 2001 - Happy Thanksgiving! (Yesterday)

• Updated a few more pages here at 1896. (Yeah, I know that my username can now be used to link to my site, but I feel “established” at the old address.)
• Created a Japanese flag! I don't (yet) know Japanese, nor do I really know anyone with a Japanese homepage, but my friend Nicki learned Japanese while I was in Germany and has a page showing some of what she's learned.
  The small flag graphics look sucky because they're actually 42x26. (Except for the German flag; it's 10x13.)

  Made some more Shadow Warrior font characters. All of the umlaut characters are there, even if they aren't used. I'd use letters like “ä” if only they'd let me :(

  As of January 1, 2002, Germany drops the Mark and swiches over to the “Euro,” the official currency of the “United Europe.” The Euro was designed to beat the American Dollar, but the Dollar's kicking its trash!

  Anyhoo...to keep with the times, I designed my own Euro ASCII character, based on the the (default) size-3 font: . It was originally a “C,” but I changed that! I'll make other Euro fonts as the need arises.

  November 2, 2002: After reformating my PC (this last summer) and putting Win-dohs '98 on, I discovered that the Euro has been offically incorporated into the Win-dohs font. That makes my Euro graphic redundant.

November 12, 2001

• Got sick of everything on this page being bold; removed the “bold everything” tag.
• Started adding <blockquote> x3 to indent non-framed pages. It squeezes 'em nice, and it almost compensates for that stupid vertical Scheiß GeoBanner. Wo bu yao!
• Over the last week, I updated and translated several pages at the House of Waffles, including all of the games pages (except for the RTS page). ZIP files and such still aren't up.
• The Cheats page is still a roach motel, but I did translate the short message and added the Fish Polka.
• Put “He's Back!” from Duke Nukem II on the Main page, because äh, I'm back!
• Created a bunch of new background images. I like my new blinking shageye. I wish I could see the looks on the faces of those that get surpised by it...
  No, I didn't intentionally create that skull in the pupil. I used LView's spinning wheel transformation and it made that itself. All I did was animate the blink and fade the color.

  Created a graphical font using the the big red letters from Shadow Warrior. A few special characters were taken from Duke Nukem 3D, but they'll eventually be redone in the Shadow Warrior style, like others already done. Additions will be created as the need arises (haven't made Ë or Ï yet; they're very rarely used).

  Found out that characters like ä ö ü can't be used to name files on the internet >:(

  I've been trying to sort files and move non-HTML files out of the main directory. Go ahead and snoop; I don't care:

  Just so y'all know, I've decided that I hate using WordPad to write HTML! If only I could combine the best of NotePad with Edit...

  Added the bilingual navigation links at the top of this page.

October 18, 2001

• I returned from Germany July 26, 2001. Since then I've begun translating my pages into German. (Jetzt kann ich deutsch!) At the sametime, I've been revising the English pages.
• I'm trying to make the multi-language pages, äh, "reverse compatible," by implimenting links that allow the visitor to simply swich the current page's language (by clicking on the flags.)
• The Waffle Xoo is gone. XOOM.com got bought out by M$-NBC. Those trouttards totally FUBARed the XOOM members. XOOM had a virtually unlimited storage space for graphics, so I had a LOT of data there. Then they said, "Just move your pages over to Homestead.com; it'll be easy and convienient." So I use their service to do it, and they have a limit of only 1 or 2 Scheiß-Megabytes. And their bloody file manager is so inconvienient.
  Yet another black mark for Mi¢ro$oft. Suck ME.

• Wow! Long time since an update...Whoops...?!
• Removed my own (Bard Buduski's) links from the page, as those pages no longer exist.
• Removed Image for Intermountain Drafting and Design and indicated that the remainging link is broken. Scott moved his page some time ago, and now works for Ivory Homes. I'll fix it once I figure it all out...
• Noticed that there are no longer counters on any of the pages...Hmmm...I'll be sure to tell Wally when he returns.
• NEWS ITEM: Wally returns on Thursday, July 26, 2001!
