The Vigo War

Introduction: The tone now changes to a more inter-criminal campaign, with the guys aware of and participating in the machinations of the other Vigos. Zolar becomes more and more independent as time goes on, starting ZLS and building the Rameseum II to suit his own needs, while Torill becomes more tied to Sprax and the internecine Vigo War. Tu'ebb breaks from his role as simple tech, and Ramses... well...

Prelude Adventures

Adventure 60: Assassination, or Huh Huh, He Said "Ass"
Characters Involved: All
Overview: As the war between Vigos brews, Torill, Zolar and Tu'ebb have been having to deal with spies, traitors, bribes, undercutting, and low-level assasinations or kidnappings perpetrated by the other Vigos. And Ramses is getting overworked in killing enemy agents. The final straw comes when Zolar is captured in a car by Lonay agents pretending to be buisnessmen interested in ZLS systems. He doesn't go easy, though, killing his gaurds in an amazing escape. Vigo Sprax decides That's Enough of That. He calls the guys together and designs a complicated conspiracy to kill Vigo Lonay. First, Zolar is to allow himself to be captured by agents of Lonay (since they're obviously interested in capturing him). Torill, Tu'ebb, and Ramses are to participate in an attempt to "bargain" for Zolar's release, but to give Lonay a gem in part of the price that's covered with contact poison deadly to Twi'leki. The crew agree (after all, it is their boss). The first part of the plan goes without a hitch, with Zolar being easily captured and taken to Lonay's lair. Torill and Tu'ebb then contact agents of Lonay and organize the deal. Torill and Tu'ebb show up with their bodygaurds, with Ramses waiting outside the underground palace. However, Lonay's major domo (Lonay doesn't show) betrays them, and almost capture them before Ramses comes through the ceiling, avoiding guards who found him outside (this is made even more amazing by the fact that it is an UNDERGROUND FACILITY). In the ensuing fight, the crew is still almost overwhelemed by the well-trained Twi'lek bodygaurds (Ramses is neutralized by a droid disabler) before Tu'ebb challenges Lonay's expeditor to a mano-et-mano fight, allowing the Tro to recover from their injuries and fight again. After defeating the guards, the crew rush to Lonay's chamber to kill him the old-fashioned way. However, in an amazing turn of events, Moff Neomen is found instead of Vigo Lonay! He rockets out while the bewildered guys stare. The guys escape before reinforcements arrive.
Interesting Moments: When Zolar is forced into a car with two guards sitting on either side of him, he moves fast to knife them with his built-in vibroblades, then pulls one of their guns on the guard in the front seat.
-Ramses begins a crater to dig through to the roof of Lonay's underground lair, then begins cutting through the roof with his laser cutter. He is interrupted by guards which spot him and snipe from top of the crater, obscured by clouds of chalk-like dirt.
-As Torill, Tu'ebb, Zolar, and the bodyguards are being led off, Torill throws the priceless gem into the air to distract the bad guys and make an escape. A moment of tense silence follows as the entire crowd watches with horror as the gem spins in the air... and then the moment is broken as Ramses comes flying through a sudden hole in the ceiling, followed by a giant fireball.
-There's a one-on-one knife fight between Tu'ebb and Lonay's expeditor, who uses a variety of hidden weapons. Tu'ebb wins by slashing his leg tendons.
-When the guys crash into Lonay's chamber, Moff Neomen turns around in the Big Leather Chair™, then hits a button and a rocket engine comes out of the bottom to fly out through the skylight. This becomes a Moff Neomen trademark.
Quotes: "Nyeh, I'm out of here!" -Moff Neomen, before escaping.

::Stunned silence, followed by a little smash:: -The entire company, as Torill's plan to distract by endangering the precious gem is outmatched by the explosive entrance of Ramses. The gem is forgotten.

The Backstory: As should be obvious... Moff Neomen is alive and working for Lonay! Evidently deciding that "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em," the former Moff went to Black Sun. However, he has his own plans for how things should go...

Adventure 61: Mall Madness, or Hello Kitty... again
Characters Involved: All
Overview: Things are going pretty well for the crew. Despite the chaos of the Vigo War, ZLS Enterprises is prospering from the illegal atmosphere of the Rim, Torill and Tu'ebbs respective buisnesses are doing well, and Ramses....well.... Anyway, a Technology Conference is being held on Sriluur. Businesses- some legal, some not- are all represented, showing off new technologies for consumers. Torill (with Leda...a date, of sorts), Tu'ebb, Zolar, and Ramses (in disguise, of course) all attend. Each is having a jolly good time, with Torill buying a new Blastech Blaster Shotgun, Zolar buying lots of stuff, and good times for all. This is all ruined soon. As Zolar ports himself across the huge open atrium building in a small repulsorlift cart, a large display table from an upper floor comes tumbling down, clipping his cart and sending it to the bottom. In the chaos that follows, Torill, Tu'ebb and Leda are surprised by none other than the bounty hunter Hobbes (hired by Ganis, who now works for Durga)! A large brawl ensues, eventually joined by Ramses, who then gains his own problems when a bunch of what appear to be Weequay martial artists inexplicably attack him. Meanwhile, Zolar has a conflict with the police (coming in to calm the riot), as Torill and Tu'ebb get their butts kicked by Hobbes before being saved by the police. Ramses barely escapes his assailants (and the police), and everyone is arrested (except Hobbes, the Weequay, and Ramses). Fortunately for our crew, Black Sun pays bail for all of them (a little more reluctantly for Zolar, who killed a policeman and is in more trouble).
Interesting Moments: Torill runs through the tables of blasters, as explosions from Hobbes' plasma rifle follow him.
-Torill tries to hit Hobbes with the blaster shotgun, but the recoil and an injury from Hobbes ends up propelling himself over the edge of the 5 story balcony. He barely manages to grab on and get pulled up by Leda. Meanwhile, Tu'ebb fights in hand-to-hand combat with Hobbes.
-Moff Neomen makes a cameo appearance, floating in a cart right behind Torill. Torill shoots his cart, sending it out of control and through a window.
-Ramses gets his butt kicked by the expert Weequay, getting his sensors blinded and damaged internal systems. He escapes with an insane maneuver of firing a concussion missle right next to him, propelling him far over the balcony. He also survives. Weird.
-Zolar gets manhandled up from his fallen spot by the police. However, he overreacts and shoots one of them with his carbine.
-Sprax lets Zolar linger in jail longer before paying bail. He also warns him that his killing a police officer is not going to be tolerated again, and he might not be let off a second time.
Notes: As opposed to Zolar, Torill gets out easily on bail for cooperating with the police.

The Backstory: Durga has hired Hobbes to take out Sprax's expeditors, and Hobbes (with his desire for revenge on Torill) was all too willing to go along. The Weequay who attack Ramses, however, weren't part of Black Sun... they were adepts of Guraquay, making their first test attack on the "evil" of Urretsch-Ramsev...

The Vigo War Part 1: Kick Lonay in the Balls

Adventure 62: Kick Lonay in the Balls Part One, or A Simple Plan
Characters Involved: All
Overview: One day at the Rameseum, over a beer, Torill comes up with a brilliant plan to deal a crippling blow to Vigo Lonay's influence. Doing his homework, he's found out that Lonay's big bucks are in slavery, especially his alliance with the Myrkator Slaving Guild and their possesion of the legendary Madalorian Dungeon Ship. Torill figures that if he and the guys can build up a small fleet, they can take out slavery in this and other sectors, putting a big dent into Lonay's economy (not to mention putting a stop to the practice in this sector, totally not endorsed by Sprax). After detailing the plan with others in the organization, the Crew present their plan to Sprax, who cautiously accepts the idea and gives them a budget. Among the plans are converting the Rameseum II into the flagship of the pirate fleet, using the cargo bays as hangars for Z-95s (borrowed from Blalock's pirate fleet), and mercenary troops from Thunder Force. Support comes from the smuggler crew and their ships. As Zolar, Ramses and the rest of the Crew begins raiding slaver ships, Torill and Tu'ebb botch an attempt to go undercover into the slavery culture, ending in an ambush where slaver-hired commandoes almost take the VT2. In addition, Zolar puts a tracker pod on a ship supposedly bound for the hidden Dungeon ship, only to chase it half way across the galaxy and destroy it in an accident. They do, however, manage to free a group of slaves from an evil asteroid mining company the ship has led them to.
Interesting Moments: To announce the plan to Sprax, the entire Crew (Torill, Tu'ebb, Zolar, Ramses, Umino, Dex, Kalend, Leda, etc...) pile into his office. It gets pretty crowded.
-To demonstrate the plan, Zolar puts up a humorous animated overhead showing a giant, diembodied foot repeatedly kicking a superdeformed Lonay in the groin.
-The commandoes boarding the VT2 are easily taken out by R2-C9, the ABC security system, and Tu'ebb.
-As the Dauphern chases the slaver ship through the asteroid field, Ramses lines up a devestating series of shots aimed to blow out their ion drive. However, the force of the shots send the ship off course....and into an asteroid, destroying it in a blazing fireball. D'oh!
-To take out the asteroid base, Zolar "launches" Ramses at high speed from the Dauphern. His trajectory takes him right throught the plasteel "window" of the base, depressurizing the entire senior staff.
Quotes: "Zolar's wearing a trenchcoat."
"An Armani trenchcoat?"
"No, Armani Exchange. It's cheaper."
"::sigh:: Only in our campaign..."
-Warren and Sean, discussing Zolar's fashion sense.
"So, if we hit him hard, hit him now, and hit him...um...hard..."
-Torill, describing his plan to Sprax.

Adventure 63: Kick Lonay in the Balls Part Two, or Friends for Life
Characters Involved: All
Overview: With the misadventures of the last adventure behind them, the crew meets up again on the Rameseum II and return full-force into raiding. Despite a few mistaken identities of ships they are attacking, and one instance where Torill barely manages to escape from a ship he is docked with exploding, the interdiction is going well. When rescuing some slaves, however, one yells that he knows something they need. Sprax soon learns of this and send his bodygaurd, Shotarr, to interrogate the prisoner as to the location of the Mandalorian Dungeon Ship. He gets a lift with Avinn Darrst, a relatively new "enforcer" in Torill's command. With them also comes Avinn's copilot, a mysterious fedora-wearing ghol named Masher. However, after the interogation is complete and downloaded on datapad, a group of Blastboats (Slaving Guild conunterattack) attack the Rameseum II.

In the following chaos, Avinn steals the datapad and gets away with it. After tracking him to Nwarcol, Torill captures him in a high-intensity chase through the Carolingin Run. Meanwhile, after guiding the Rameseum II through a dangerous ion storm to find a hiding place at the eye of the storm, Zolar is alerted by Sprax of the state of his neglected Rameseum and ZLS systems, both of which have fallen to pieces. After "convincing" the employees of ZLS to keep working, Zolar arrives at the chaos of the Rameseum to find a massacre. Revelers who had been partying there were all killed by a group of Weequay zealots, led by one called Guraquay (Zolar finds all this on a note posted on the wall). This Guraquay has apparently declared a jihad on the "evil god of death," Ramses.

Anyhoo, Avinn escapes Sprax's gaurds and begins selling the datapad on C-bay (the underground black market of Cynnabar). Therefore, Sprax calls a meeting with all the guys and the slave to personally interrogate him. As soon as they learn the location, however, a ship halfway crashes through the front window of Sprax's office. Avinn, Masher, and his Wookie comrade blast their way through the guys and kidnap Vigo Sprax (and, unwittingly, Torill, for he jumps onto the ship and climbs in). When Zolar and Ramses give chase in the Dauhphern, they get too close while the other ship is escaping into hyperspace, and disrupt the warp bubble. A cliffhanger ends this one...tune back in, same beer time, same beer channel.
Interesting Moments: Torill makes friends with Avinn before his betrayel, making it all that more personal.
-Torill chases Avinn through the asteroid- and- maintenance droid-infested Carolingin Run. Avinn proves himself to be an equal pilot to Torill, despite Torill's S.O.B-ing.
-Zolar prepares himself for mortal combat to fight the revelers of the Rameseum, only to find a few bandigos and dead bodies.
-When Avinn, Masher, and Urrurgra stride down the walkway after crashing through the window, Zolar and Ramses run away. This is to get to the Dauphern so they can chase, which kinda saves these guys from getting killed...
-As the cybernetic "Gadget-Ghol," Masher unfolds tommy guns from his hands and opens up on Sprax's office. Torill dives behind the wetbar as bullets shatter glass and shower alchohol all around him, firing back as he does so.
-In the cool chase as Zolar and Ramses chase Avinn and crew, Torill and Ramses hold on to the hull for dear life and attempt to climb into the hatch. Only Torill makes it, while Ramses gets shaken off and into the cockpit (literally) of the Dauphern. Zolar has to get out fast and repressurize after Ramses spiderwebs the windshield.
-When Torill gets in, he is confronted by Gadget Ghol in the confines of the hatch. Torill proceeds to beat the crap out of him, then hides in a bathroom when the ship is thrown off course by the Dauphern's actions.

Adventure 64: Kick Lonay in the Balls Part Three, or Moffia
Characters Involved: All
Overview: With the turnmoil of the last adventure, Zolar returns to the Rameseum II with a mission in mind. Despite the newly-"appointed" Vigo Kisquar's orders to stop, a retaliatory attack on the Mandalorian Dungeon Ship is set up. Meanwhile, Torill awakens in the bathroom of Avvin's ship but, despite his initial evasion of Avinn and Urrurgra, his attempts to hold the ship hostage are foiled. After he awakens again (his attempt ended when Urrurgra leaped on him, knocking him unconcious), he learns the situation...the ship is in a deteriorating orbit around a gas giant. He decides to help Avinn repair the ion drive, which was shot out when the Dauphern broke the hyperspace bubble. He helps the whole bit, but also learns that Avinn works for Lonay. Capturing Sprax was a way to make up for selling the location of the Dungeon Ship. However, Torill takes a moment to make a mayday call to the Rameseum II. However, Ramses and Zolar arrive a moment too late, as another ship from Lonay pick up the Avinn, his crew, and their prisoners and escapes.

Zolar plots the course (towards the Dungeon Ship), and sets up the force for a raid on the Dungeon Ship. Meanwhile, Torill and Sprax are taken to Lonay's quarters on the Dungeon Ship. After a bit of inter-criminal chit-chat, Lonay reveals something amazing...Moff Neomen is his right-hand-man! However, this doesn't stay for long, as Neomen stages a coup and puts Lonay in the same place as Sprax and Torill! Just as the three are being lead to their cells, the Rameseum II attacks the giant ship. Despite all its firepower, the massive Dungeon Ship is too big to damage. Therefore, Dex and Kalend board with mercenaries on their ships, as Zolar fights fighter defenses and Ramses and Tu'ebb board as a two-man death squad, armed to the teeth. Soon, everyone is split up, with Tu'ebb fighting automated defenses, Torill in a no-holds-barred brawl with the burly torturer, Zolar fighting counterboarders and ships, and Ramses in a deathmatch with the formidable Guraquay (who is being funded by Lonay, now Neomen).

Soon, after defeating the gaurd and several stormtroopers (see quotes), Torill, Sprax and Lonay meet with Dex's boarders and get free rides, while Ramses, Tu'ebb, and Guraquay escape a massive explosion as Ramses sets off a battery bank in his titanic battle with Guraquay. After more fighting on a magna train, Tu'ebb barely defeats Guraquay in a Matrix-style martial-arts fight and Ramses steals his intimidating sword. After getting split up again, Tu'ebb finally meets up with Kalend Thora's team and fights with them, while Ramses attmepts to get to the bridge with Zolar. Zolar, however, having dealt with the Rameseum II's foes and leaving Durandal in control, boards near the bridge, and steals valuable items from Lonay's quarters before being attacked by Neomen in the Chocolate Infinity Junior. As soon as Ramses, Zolar, and Torill meet up, however, Neomen escapes on a ship and sets off the self-destruct. The guys barely escape, only to find Neomen's new allies....Ganis the Hutt and his fleet! After being damaged even more, they finally escape, except for Zolar, who wants to keep fighting. Torill "convinces" him to leave by activating the hyperdrive, almost causing their destruction on an asteroid (Ramses, who is sitting in the gunwell that gets ripped off by the asteroid, gets his legs knocked off, but is not destroyed).  With new villains, how will the crime saga end?
Interesting Moments: Torill kicks the crap out of Gadget Ghol again while he's repairing the drive. He then holds it hostage with a blaster, threatening to take out the drive, before he's distracted and leaped down on by Urrurgra.
-Sprax and Torill make an escape attempt, in which they manage to kill Urrurgra. However, they are recaptured.
-Sprax and Lonay have a neat crime boss to crime boss exchange, pointedly ignoring Torill. Later in this scene, Torill gets into a "girly-fight" with Neomen.
-To take out the torturer, Torill uses a captured bullwhip to knock some hanging swords down onto the burly guy. One almost spears Torill in the head, but he catches it with millimeters to spare.
-Ramses and Tu'ebb stride into the hangar, wearing trenchcoats and sunglasses, armed to the teeth. Throw in some gaurds with automatics. Use the appropriate scene from the Matrix to fill in the details. Only difference is, Ramses chunks half of them before they can get anywhere.
-As Ramses walks into the battery room, a primitive area with arcing electricity, he finds Guraquay. The Weequay priest proceeds to dodge Ramses' best shots, hacking pieces out of his with his big-ass sword. Ramses retaliates by blowing up the battery bank with a concussion missle.
-Imagine the fight scene between Neo and Agent Smith in the Matrix and you have a feel for what the fight between Guraquay and Tu'ebb was like. Ramses was busy trying to run Guraquay over with the magna train, not realizing that it floats and ignorant of the fight on the platform.
-When the counterboarders are on the Rameseum II, Umino fights with molotov cocktails, and Durandal fights with unauthorized turrets in his chamber.
Quotes: "No, you're dead!"
"Nyeh!"
"No!"
"Nyeh!"
"No!"
-Torill and Moff Neomen

"Dodge that!" -Tu'ebb, on kicking Guraquay into the path of the magnatrain.

"Torill....you.....ASSHOLE! WHAT THE HELL!?" -Zolar, when Torill damaged the Dauphern by setting off the hyperdrive.

"It's them! Blast them!" -Stormtrooper captain, upon seeing Torill, Sprax and Lonay. They only appear because only stormtroopers are dumb enough to use cheesy lines like "It's them, blast them."

Interim: With Lonay's organization toppled by the crew and Sprax safe, the Crew is well rewarded for their quick thinking. Meanwhile, Neomen sets himself up as Vigo of Lonay's remaining territory, showing a surprising ability to hold together the crumbling remnants. Avvin Darrst disappears into the underworld, vowing vengeance on Torill...

Now the real fights for the Vigo War are beginning.
