Adventure 56: Shadows of the Rameseum, Part One or Meet the Heroes

Overview: Things start to fall back into the normal Black Sun groove now. Torill orients himself with his new (cover) job as head shipping coordinator (and adds his own personal touches), Tu'ebb becomes a senior director at Gricul Yards, Zolar has his hands full managing the Rameseum and the Rameseum II, and Ramses amuses himself as an enforcer for the more violent side of Black Sun. However, the Crew soon split paths, as Sprax asks Ramses to act as a bodygaurd on a trip to Coruscant, and Zolar takes the Rameseum II on a maiden voyage to the Corporate Sector (with the legendary Juggernaut Armour in mind). However, Torill is soon taken away from his work when Sprax asks him to contact and act as a spy in a Rebel operation that Black Sun is very interested in. He does so, and soon finds himself meeting Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, Lando Calrissian, and Dash Rendar in the middle of an operation to rescue Han Solo from Boba Fett! He volunteers to distract the local Imperial garrison while Rogue Squadron takes on the fleet, and Dash leads the Millenium Falcon to Fett's position. Despite a daring (most would say butt-ugly stupid) move by Torill, Boba Fett still escapes. Meanwhile, Ramses finds that he's not just a guard for Sprax; he's got a new job as a security droid (and hitdroid when needed) in Prince Xizor's palace! He completes a mission to apprehend a renegade Wookie bounty hunter, despite some Imperial interference en route....and takes up a very boring patrol walk through the palace. Also, Zolar evades CSA blockades, finds an agent willing to sell the elusive Juggernaut armour, pays the hefty sum, drops off his passengers and grabs some new ones, and heads Coreward, bass blasting...
Interesting Moments: Torill distracts the garrison by flying straight through it, ignoring all comms. Tu'ebb opens fire on the swarm of TIEs behind him, getting their attention, while Torill pulls a a move similar to that in the last adventure (go read it if you haven't!!!). This really busts up the 'Tan and gets the grudging admiration (or at least frightened respect) of Dash Rendar.
-The TIEs following the 'Tan don't open fire (as Torill hasn't done anything REALLY wrong), but follow in a swarm. Tu'ebb opens fire, destroying the center one, and they disperse...only to come back in a flurry of lasers....
-To get off Coruscant for his mission, Ramses packs himself into a crate. However, the ship is stopped by Imps and the box ordered open. Ramses quickly takes out the lights and snipes the troopers down, then hides in the vents. When the ship goes to hyperspace, he drops into engineering and turns off the inertial dampeners, then the hyperdrive, making everyone not buckeled down (like him) go splat.
Quotes: "Repeat: unknown vessel, you are to shut off your drive systems and prepare to be-" WKOOM -Alpha One, before Tu'ebb opens fire.
"Hello, I am Ali Babba." -Ramses, using a severed head from an officer on the ship as a puppet to get by Customs (it's complicated).
Notes: The Wookie Ramses hunted down was Snoova, for those who have the Shadows of the Empire Sourcebook (or noticed the small detail in the book).

Adventure 57: Shadows of the Rameseum Part Two, or Don't I Know You from Somewhere...?!

Overview: During the regrouping after the attack on Gall, Torill barely saves Luke from an assasin. Worried about who would be trying to kill Luke, Leia decides to contact Black Sun and use its spynets to find if Vader had put the bounty on his head. This is where Torill comes in, admitting that he has some Black Sun contacts. He directs them to the Rameseum II (passing through the area as Zolar is en route to Coruscant, determined to talk to Guri about her employing his best bud far away from the Rim). After some tense moments when Torill tries to convince Zolar that they're not best buds (for the sake of the mission), Zolar sets up quarters for the Leia, Lando, and Chewie. While Torill and the Rebels hang out with the Rameseum II crew, Guri contacts Zolar and tells him that she will meet with Leia. Zolar also bugs the room, learning of Leia's plan to incapacitate Guri and warning her in advance. After Guri tells Leia that Prince Xizor himself wants to talk with them, Leia, Chewie, and Torill board Guri's ship bound for Coruscant. Also, earlier, Ramses is conscripted to take out a group of shipjackers that are targeting Black Sun's freighters. He takes them out with much discrimination, and earns his place as the most feared member of Xizor's defense force.
Interesting Moments: Ramses catches the shipjackers completely by surprise, and blows them away with concussion missles in a pitched fight.
Quotes: "What are you doing here?!"
"What are YOU doing here?!" -Zolar and Torill, in a whispered conversation.
Notes: For those of you who read the book, Zolar and the Rameseum II take the place of Avaro and his casino. Neat, huh?

Adventure 58: Shadows of the Rameseum Part Three, or Pernicous Palatial Problems
Characters Involved: All
Overview: Guri's ship arrives at Coruscant, and Leia, Chewie, and Torill sneak onto the Imperial homeworld disguised as bounty hunters. From there, they proceed to Xizor's palace, where Torill finally meets his bosses' boss. Leia begins negotiations with him, but Chewie smells a trap. Torill just smells nice palace perfume stuff. Figures. Meanwhile, Guri contacts Zolar with a mission to stop by Bothawui and do a deal with some bounty hunters who have something Black Sun needs (actually, the bounty hunters are holding Luke Skywalker, and Zolar is to bargain for Xizor's interest in killing Luke). However, when he arrives, he finds only stormtroopers, a Super Star Destroyer, and Darth Vader himself waiting where the bounty hunters were, and he narrowly avoids detection. After running away in the Rameseum II, Zolar makes a quick jump to Coruscant and lands there. He proceeds and gains access to Xizor's palace to talk with Guri. However, Chewie has something else planned. Leia has learned of Xizor's evil intentions, and plans an escape for Chewie and Torill (which Torill has no knowledge about). Torill finds himself dragged behind Chewie in a mad dash for the exit. Ramses is dispatched to intercept, but only manages a glancing blow at the enraged Wookie and his hapless partner. Chewie also knocks a bust down onto Zolar's head, while he's hiding from the flight of the two. Chewie and Torill escape to the Underground, and meet up with Lando, Luke, Dash, and Tu'ebb in a plant shop. They plan an infiltration through the sewer system to rescue Leia....
Interesting Moments: To avoid running smack dab into Darth Vader and his entourage (who are marching down the alley Zolar's in), Zolar makes a mad jump into a nearby dumpster. He hides there while listening to the Imperial March play its way past him...
-Later, the Rameseum II flees in fear from the Executor as the Super Star Destroyer chases the Millenium Falcon.
-Zolar, seeing Chewbacca and Torill running his way, ducks behind a table/pillar with a bust of some alien or another on it. Chewie knocks the bust over onto Zolar's head, knocking the poor sap out.
Quotes: "...and some Skittles." -Tu'ebb, in a really stupid reference to the movie Bad Boys that didn't work out well because Michael didn't figure out that Sean wanted to do it.

Adventure 59: Shadows of the Rameseum Part Four, or Fall of the House of Xizor
Characters Involved: All
Overview: After being treated for his head injuries, Zolar gets a meeting with Guri, where she tells him rather bluntly that Ramses has to stay at Xizor's palace. Zolar then opts for plan B, and arranges a meeting with Xizor to talk about a buisness idea of his; ZLS systems, a source for all things illegal. Zolar wants a million credit loan from XTS to finance this, and wants to arrange a deal with Xizor. However, meanwhile, trouble is brewing in the sewers. Luke, Lando, Dash, Chewie, Torill, and Tu'ebb (who have made up their minds to help the Rebels defy the evil Xizor, risking the wrath of their employer) make their way through the sewers with the help of a maintenance worker, and accidentaly alert security when they botch an attempt to take out the basement gaurds. They make their way up level by level of Xizor's palace, blowing away guards as they go. Meanwhile, Zolar succesfully presents his idea to Xizor and gets the loan before Xizor dismisses him a little prematurely. Ramses is put on alert, captaining a squad of gaurds, but are told not to intercept yet (Xizor doesn't want to create a disturbance). However, when Leia breaks out and joins the team, Xizor lets Ramses and the other guard teams loose, as well as arming himself and bringing Guri in to intercept the group.

The Rebels (and Torill and Tu'ebb) are herded by Ramses (who has been inadvertently joined by Zolar, who ran into the team on his way out), the guards, Xizor, and Guri into a small room with no exits. Guri taunts the trapped Rebels, trying to prompt Torill and Tu'ebb to take action for Black Sun from their side of the door. Tu'ebb is then forced to reveal (Torill is still reeling from a hit he took in the fight) that they are Black Sun agents, but that they won't betray the Rebels because they believe that Xizor is truly evil. Luke finally comes up with a crazy plan with a deadman's switch on a thermal dentonator, forcing Xizor to tell Ramses and the guards to let them go. However, Lando, feeling misceivous, drops a thermal dentonator down the garbage chute, threatening the collapse of the whole building. As the Rebels escape and guards panic, Xizor yells at Torill, Tu'ebb, and Ramses (Zolar had already fled down a turbolift, trying to get to his Porsche landspeeder) to find the dentonator in the garbage dump. After a halted attempt by Torill to make himself look heroic (see interesting moments), they jump down the chute and attempt to find the dentonator before the 5 minute time limit is up. They fail to, however, and have to flee to the roof.

They find Zolar waiting (he found his Porsche on cinderblocks, therefore hitting the turbolift up to the roof and calling Durandal to get them an airlift), as well as Guri. The Rameseum II shows up just in time for the guys to avoid falling to their deaths (though Guri ignores all attempts at rescue, and falls to her supposed destruction), and flees. After Torill and Tu'ebb get back to the Rameseum II, the Crew find themselves in the middle of a space battle between Xizor's fighters, the Millenium Falcon, the Outrider, Rebel X-Wings, and TIE fighers from the Executor! Zolar and Torill take different sides, but each manage to escape badly damaged. The same cannot be said for Xizor, who is killed when his skyhook is destroyed by the Executor. It's gonna be a brave new world for Black Sun and the crew of the Rameseum....
Interesting Moments: Torill attempts to stand up for what's good and right in the galaxy by confronting Xizor in a heroic speech after the Underlord told him to go after the thermal dentonator. Xizor responds by forcibly dumping him headfirst down the garbage chute. Tu'ebb sighs, then jumps down after him.
-When down in the trash compactor, Torill and Tu'ebb leave on the turbolift before Ramses. He gets out by flying up the chute using repulsors, and crashing throught the bottom of the turbolift car.
-When the guys arrive on the roof, they see no Rameseum II in sight, and a rumbling beneath their feet. They prepare to die when a rope ladder tumbles in front of them. The Rameseum II is hovering directly above them, and the rumbling was its engines. They jump for the ladder right as the building collapses underneath.
-The Rameseum II takes off before the guys climb the ladder, and makes a beeline for the Imperial Palace. At the last moment, Durandal pivots it up and "buzzes" the Emperor's chamber (with the Emperor present), with the guys missing it by inches.
-In the space battle, Torill decides to fight for the Rebels, while Zolar has the Rameseum II shoot down X-Wings and TIEs alike (note that he only seems to HIT the TIES).
-The Executor grabs hold of the Vorinna Tan with a tractor beam. Torill tries to let it get close, then firing a concussion missile to destroy the tower, but they grab him with another one. He responds by activating the S.O.B to break the lock. He ends up busting the 'Tan up beyond recognition, and sending the 'Tan flying like a rubber band into the fireball of Xizor's skyhook.
-While flying through said fireball, dodging debris, a figure comes flying out of the fire. Xizor, freeze-dried, burned, and thoroughly dead, flies out and smacks the 'Tan's windshield. Torill proceeds to smash down the "winshield wiper" button to get him out of the way. A classic Big Easy moment.
Quotes: "Nihao." -Ramses, after crashing through the floor of the turbolift car.
"Did anyone get the liscence plate of that freighter?" -Emperor Palpatine, after Durandal has the Rameseum II buzz the Imperial palace.
"AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!" -Torill and Tu'ebb, after Xizor hits their front windshield.

Interim: Much happens here. After disappearing for a long time in hyperspace, Torill and Tu'ebb show up in a critically damaged 'Tan and make a crash landing on Sriluur, totalling the Vorinna Tan. After Zolar arrives, Vigo Sprax calls a meeting with Kisquar, Zolar, and Torill and announces a big change. With the death of Xizor, Black Sun is now in shambles and needs a new leader. Sprax announces that he is nominating himself as the new Underlord of Black Sun. This isn't free, however, as Vigo Durga and Vigo Lonay have both done similar actions. A power struggle between the three Vigos will now ensue to decide the new Underlord of Black Sun, with the crew of the Rameseum representing Sprax on the field of battle. As for less dramatic, but no less important changes, Torill and Tu'ebb use the frame of the totalled Vorinna Tan (plus a lot of credits) to redesign and build the new and improved VT2, the first big ship change for these two (can't say the same for Zolar and Ramses...how many, 6 ships?!). Also, Zolar uses the loan Xizor gave him to set up ZLS systems operations on Sedri. Plus, he doesn't have to pay it back (Xizor being dead, of course)! ZLS systems soon makes a name for itself in the world of cheap weapons rip-offs in the Outer Rim. In the considerable time between this and the next adventure, Torill retakes his new job as shipping coordinator, Tu'ebb has his job as board member of Gricul Yards, Zolar is now the CEO of ZLS Enterprises (ZLS systems and the Rameseums), and Ramses...well....chunks shmucks who don't like Black Sun. Figures.
