Introduction: With the overall Black Sun theme, our theme changes to a much more criminal aspect, though there are strong threads of facetiousness throughout it. Many friendly NPCs are introduced in this arc as the crew gets settled into the Periphery, and even a few running bad guys show up. Zolar makes his mark of insane genius in this arc as well, bringing him up to a higher status of player character. Also, the adventures get more complex with their plots.

Prelude Adventures

Adventure 26: The Search for Ramses' Head Part One, or the Droid Bunch
Characters Involved: Torill, Tu'ebb, Zolar, Ramses (to a certain extent)
Overview: In yet another routine boarding inspection, Zolar and Ramses suddenly encounter something completely unexpected; a raid by unidentified Imperial forces! The skilled troopers quickly overwhelm Ramses and Zolar with stun blasts and ionization grenades. The scene then switches to Torill and Tu'ebb, where they get a tip that Zolar is in an Imperial detention center. After breaking him out, they learn that Ramses' parts and the other droids are to be melted down at an industrial plant. After finding and entering the place, they recover the droids and save most of Ramses from meltdown; except for his head...
Interesting Moments: Ramses blasts two troopers (a signifigant accomplishment, considering their dodge skill) before an ionization grenade takes him out.
-Zolar makes a running leap to the treadmill carring Ramses' parts to save them at the last minute from meltdown.

The Backstory: You wouldn't believe it, but it's Neomen again. This Imperial task force is the ACDC (Agency for the Capture of Dangerous Criminals), meant as a preliminary strike against (who else?) dangerous criminals like Ramses and Zolar.

Adventure 27: The Search for Ramses' Head Part Two, or Ramses Gets Some Head
Characters Involved: Torill, Tu'ebb, Zolar
Overview: After some investigations, the crew finds the names of their assailants; the ACDC (no relation to the band), or Agency for the Capture of Dangerous Criminals. They also find where Ramses' head is being kept...the ACDC deep space research station, where they intend to squeeze the memories out of Ramses' head. After doing the "damaged, need clearance" trick to gain acess to the station, they quietly take out the troopers searching their ships and take their uniforms. Then, they infiltrate deep into the station and find the research place where Ramses' head is hooked up. However, a shootout occurs when supicious stormtroopers and ACDC commandoes find the crew. However, they manage to grab Ramses' head, shoot out, and (in an excellent example of the stupidity of the Capital vs. Starfighter scale rule), Zolar destroys the ACDC station with concussion missles.
Interesting Moments: R2-C9 and Hugo take out the troopers by luring them into the cargo bay of the 'Tan, then shooting with onboard blasters and grabbing them with lifter hands.
-There were 3 guys, and 4 troopers to fill the roles of...so one of the parts is filled in by FR-00. A lucky con roll gets them by their superior.
-When the shootout starts, Zolar grabs an unlucky nearby scientist and uses him as a shield.

Adventure 28: The Novolek Pirates, or Steal the Beacon
Characters Involved: All
Overview: Torill and Tu'ebb, while gaining favor with Mal, spend some time with him in the bar. There he not only alerts them to the Hutt plan to destroy the hyperspace hazard Novolek beacon, but also offers them a job like their first run for him...only backwards. This time, Torill and Tu'ebb (and Ramses and Zolar, as they volunteer for the money), are playing the role of a spy on some smugglers as Mal devises a shipping run for the candidates to enter Sprax's realm, just as the crew entered some time ago (think of it as going from summer camp attendees to counselers). However, this time, due to the Novolek beacon demolition taking place, they have to head to an asteroid to pick up the coordinates. However, when the group arrives, the Novolek beacon is destroyed and sends out a hyperspace pulse, taking out ship systems on all the ships. Then, suddenly, pirates show up, apparently unaffected by the pulse, and begin taking ships! As Ramses and Zolar defend against boarders, Torill and Tu'ebb make quick repairs to the 'Tan and take off after the fleeing ships. In hot pursuit, the 'Tan and Aeturnus run into the pirates' base on the asteroid, and disable the dropships and destroy the base to make it out alive and with the crews. It turns up that these were remenants of the Disac pirates, who had captured scientists from the Hutt project, and learned of both the "entrance exam" and how to shield their ships from the pulse to make the "perfect" run.
Interesting Moments: While Torill and Tu'ebb hold a casual conversation with Mal, they read the newspaper about the demolition. The Hutts in charge of the project were Durga the Hutt, Ganis the Hutt (!) and Creosote the Hutt (those who know Monty Python...imagine Mr. Creosote in a Hutt...yuck.). Creosote is also the main "boss" of our side mini-campaign we played with another friend.
Notes: I'm particularly proud of the subtitle of this adventure, and I think you should be too. Same with the previous adventure.

The Backstory: The Disac pirates, making a small comeback after Sprax had cracked down on them earlier, managed to get hold of one of the lead scientists of the project. He informed them of the danger of the disabling pulse, and under pressure designed systems to protect the pirates from it. The pirates meant to use this "ultimate raid" as a jumping-off point for their revival. Didn't turn out that way.

Adventure 29: Tracing Traitors, or Rameseum Genesis
Characters Involved: All
Overview: As Ramses and Zolar draft the Ramseum shadowport and bar, Mal contacts Torill with and urgent message. He tells them that information is being leaked to an adversary, one Vigo Green. He suspects one of two smugglers, either Umino Broxin or Smoocher the Ghol. He tells them to follow the suspects to look for evidence of treachery. Dutifully, the crew spends some bar time with Umino, getting to know the jovial (if annoying, especially to Ramses) Herglic. However, even as they come to the conclusion that it's not him, they get reports that point fingers toward Smoocher the Ghol. They follow the surprisingly cunning ghol to a dance club, where they find him handing over documents to a hooded alien. In the fight that follows, they kill Smoocher, capture Green's man, and evade the security of the club to get out.
Interesting Moments: After Umino pisses off Ramses, Ramses plants a bomb in his ship's core. After the adventure, Umino comes walking into the Rameseum dejectedly, saying that his ship is out of commision, and that he doesn't have enough money to get a new one. Therefore he's planet born and stuck at....the RAMESEUM! (Ramses: Weeheehee....)

Adventure 30: Searching for Darinna Part One, or Immaterial Witness
Characters Involved: Torill, Tu'ebb
Overview: In another bar meeting with Mal, the shipping boss turns their attention toward a shipper's union formed on the planet Beren. He tells them that Sprax had ordered that because the union drains profits, Darinna Makesa and a team of mercenaries were sent to take out the ringleader of the group. However, they have not been heard from since. Torill's job is to find out what happened to his former worst enemy, whether her dissapearance be the work of the Guild, Green, or another party, and help her complete her mission if possible. Torill and Tu'ebb start by locating an infochant to help them. However, at his apartment, they are ambushed by several bounty hunters. However, a mysterious man named Daxtorn comes to the rescue, and tells them he knows what happened to Darinna. After coming to his hangar bay later on, they board his ship, only to find he is a bounty hunter in control of amazing holographic technology, and (more importantly) a contract for their heads. After escaping the trap he set, the vengeful duo set out after his ship, the Gorgon. Tricking their way onto his ship by pretending to be stormtroopers, they shoot him and send his ship to distract the nosy Imperial patrol boat.
Interesting Moments: To fight the bounty hunters, Torill hops into the repulsorcar the infochant was using to move while under heavy fire and runs down the hunters.
-There are some humurous moments as Torill and Tu'ebb frantically try to circumvent the ship controls to escape from Daxtorn's trap.
-After imitating ISB agents to get on to Daxtorn's ship, the airlock door opens slowly. From Daxtorn's view, he sees two supposedly dead people, one with a carbine, the other with a Blast and Smash, and an Astromech with its onboard blaster, all pointing at him.
Quotes: "You're f#%&ed." -Seenine, in a stormtrooperlike voice, after the airlock opens.

Adventure 31: Searching for Darinna Part Two, or Swab the Deck
Characters Involved: Torill, Tu'ebb
Overview: With little information to go on, Torill and Tu'ebb fly to Beren. When they arrive, they find what appears to be Darinna's handiwork: the offices of the Beren Space Guild had been attacked. However, there was no news yet as to who caused the attack, or whether Darinna survived. Deciding there was little they could do, the pair head back to their ship, but are hired by a space hitchhiker along they way. However, he turns out to be a pirate, and captures the crew by surprise. When they wake, they are in the hold of a pirate ship, to be used as slaves aboard by its cruel captain Aranix. There, they meet Darinna, who was also hoodwinked by the pirate on her way back. With no weapons and few options, the four (including Seenine) decide to wait it out for a time, and to make an escape when the opportunity presents itself. Each are assigned different menial tasks. However, an attack apparently occurs on the frigate, and each character pulls his own escape attempt. After Torill rescues Darinna from several attackers (snatching, along the way, several important-looking datadiscs) and Tu'ebb sabotages the ship, the two make it to the 'Tan, where they find a motley fleet led by Mal and company attacking the ship. The two are helped escape, and are grudginly thanked by Darinna for her rescue.
Interesting Moments: While reading a holopaper about the assasination, there is a bit mentioning how the attack was repulsed by the heroic actions of several Iron Chefs, Food Network fame.
-When doing repairs on the autochef, Tu'ebb programs in his Mom's recipe for chili. We joke about this, pretending an entire deck is depressurized by Big Louie after dinner. Yuck.
-Also for the yuck factor, Torill got the job of cleaning "Pee-Wee's" bed during janitorial duties.
-To distract the gaurds, Tu'ebb pretended that he was sick. He was led to the restroom, where he conned one of them to get a doctor. Then, behind the stall door, he tried to get the other one to run away by pretending he had a Chestburster, from the movie Aliens. When this doesn't work, he gives the gaurd a forceful swirly.
-Darinna comes running around the corner full speed firing behind her and holding a cloth to a wound, and one pursuer bowls over Torill. The pirate pulls a knife, but Torill manages force it back into his opponent's throat.
-Later in the fight, Torill grapples with a froglike alien, only to have it open its large mouth and swallow his head.

Adventure 32: Formula Finding, or Hey Hey, It's the Monkey
Characters Involved: All
Overview: After analyzing some of the datadiscs Torill had taken from Aranix's quarters, Mal contacts the guys with a job. Apparently, one of the datadiscs talked about new formula for an extremely hard, but flexible armor alloy. In addition, it mentioned a freighter that would be passing through with a prototype of the armor in its hold. The guys job is find and trace the freighter to its source, and then attempt to buy the formula from its creator. While at Nwarcol Point, searching for clues, the group runs into Dex, a smuggler with "connections" in a lot of seedy dealings. After some false leads, they finally find the location where a transaction is taking place between a gotal (who owns the formula), and a Monekian lord. However, the formula turns out to be a sham, concocted by the gotal to cheat the lord. After a fight with the gotal's goons, the crew manages to save the Lord (Lord Bobo). However, as they are leaving, a YT-2400 mysteriously flies overhead and destroys the building they were just in before flying off. Afterward, Ramses "convinces" Lord Bobo to help fund the construction of the Rameseum in "gratitude" for saving his life.
Interesting Moments: Dex saves Ramses from a drunken alien with big muscles by casually tossing him a flash grenade.
-In the fight after the gotal's betrayal, Ramses grapples with and kills a Defel assasin hiding in the shadows.
Quotes: "Hey, Louie. Catch." -Dex
Notes: Finally, with the funds, and the support of the community (i.e. Umino, Dex, and the now ousted Lord Bobo), construction of the Rameseum begins!!!

The Backstory: The past few adventures (28-32) instill a suspicion in Mal that has been brewing for some time: that these "smugglers" may have more talents than just smuggling. Specifically, they may just be expeditor materiel. He alerts Kisquar, Vigo Sprax's liutenant, who immediately assumes control of the group and puts them under observation.

Adventure 33: Social Disease, or Fungal Fragging
Characters Involved: All
Overview: Torill finds another perk of the job: Black Sun supplies him with a boosted shield generator. However, he soon finds that this was part of a loyalty plan from his new boss, Kisquar. The generator has a virus in it that can only be deactivated by a certain code. This code is in the hands of his next contact. This enforced contract is because of the job; Torill is to ship biological weapons. With a big grudge against his new boss, the crew (Zolar and Ramses ship the excess) set off for Novor. However, on route, Torill carefully spoils the cargo by secretly exposing it to vacuum. His plan is to get away with cheating his boss for screwing his ship. When they arrive, they are directed in the middle of a rocky field, which is inhabited by a moss that secretes a deadly poison. After overcoming this barrier, they are greeted with a rowdy crowd of protestors, yelling obscenities. However, they are rescued by a military transport and taken from the lower, waste-infested areas of the city to the high class residences. Baron Tresserhorn greets Torill, Tu'ebb, and Zolar as Ramses chills with the repair crew and Hugo (as Torill and Tu'ebb used the lifting droid to cross the field). Tresserhorn explains how the crowd were a group of religous zealots who worshipped the moss that inhabited the field. He told them of the group's sacrifices to the moss and other "disgusting" rituals.

However, as Tresserhorn retires for the night, his servant, a woman by the name of Leda, informs them of the real situation. She was a spy for the zealots in Tresserhorn's house. The group did nothing offensive, but the upper class found the pracitce embarrasing. Tresserhorn was planning to use the bio weapons to kill the zealots, and make it seem like a mass suicide. However, as she explained this, Tresserhorn's spy cameras picked it up, and guards come to arrest her. The guys break out, helping Leda find their way out. However, information had been leaked to the zealots, and they violently revolt, invading the upper class quarter of town, including Tresserhorn's estate. Ramses, the repair crew, and (surprisingly) Hugo battle them off. Above, the crew finds their way to Tresserhorn's office. He escapes down a secret passage, but Tu'ebb follows, pissed off by his lack of respect for the lower classes. Torill finds the datapad he needs, Zolar holds off the guards, and Tu'ebb kills the Baron. They then escape the palace with Ramses and Hugo. As they reach the field, a riot of the zealots is in progress, blocking their escape. However, the YT-2400 from the last adventure swoops overhead, and fires on the crowd! Few are killed, but the path is cleared for the crew. However, the ship seemed more interested in killing Ramses and Zolar, as it began to fire on them! A piece of moss severly injures Leda, but Torill manages to get her to the hospital. The crew make it away from the insane pilot of the ship, and escape.
Interesting Moments: Torill and Tu'ebb drop from hyperspace at the beginning of the adventure, depressurize the cargo bay, and open the containers with vaccum suits before resealing them. This is the beginning of Torill's revenge against Kisquar for threatening his ship.
-Torill shows a bit of interest in Leda at various points during this adventure.
-Tu'ebb kills the the Baron with much malice for his disregard of the lower class population.
-During the fight with the zealots, Ramses steals a nearby repulsorcar and mows down some of the combatants.

-The revolt that occurs is similar to the scene in the movie Dune, when the Harkonnens are attacking the Atreides.

Adventure 34: Enemy in the Fold, or Don't Crowd, There's Backstabs for Everybody
Characters Involved: All
Overview: As work proceeds on the Rameseum, including the excavation of the hangar bay, the crew is assigned by Kisquar yet another co-op spice freighting mission, this time with the experienced smuggler Dex, whom they met in a previous adventure. On the way, suspisions are stirred that Dex had let out information that had allowed a pirate force to attack them. When they arrive, Torill dumps his load of spice incognito, as his revenge continues. However, they are soon met by Dex's copilot, a chadra-fan by the name of Chibusa, and told to meet him at a location for important information regarding Dex. While Ramses and Zolar stays at their ship, Torill and Tu'ebb meet Chibusa, only to find an Imperial trap! Surrounded by the Imperials and the traitorous chadra-fan, they surrender. However, Zolar and Ramses soon learn of this, and set off to intercept the Imperial ship en route. After a losing battle with the shuttle's escorts, Torill and Tu'ebb seem lost, when Skipray Blastboats jump out of hyperspace, led by by Dex in his ship, the Dextrous Rogue! After destroying the escorts, they rescue Torill and Tu'ebb and make away with the loyal Dex.
Interesting Moments: After arriving at the destination planet, Torill orders Hugo to carry the spice to some remote alley. Hugo promptly dumps the spice on Cheech and Chong, who thoroughly enjoy it.
-Desperate against the powerful Imperial ships, Ramses launches himself out the airlock at one of the ships in an attempt to break in and kill the pilot. This is less than sucessful, and Ramses has to be saved by Zolar.
Quotes: "Eyyyy maaaaan, what's with all the spice, maaan?" -Chong

The Backstory: One of Kisquar's expeditor tests at work. He knows very well that Dex is loyal and that Chibusa is a traitor; he is just testing the group's abilities to sniff out that fact.

Adventure 35: Dangerous Enemies, or Droids, Hunters, Disruptors, Oh My!
Characters Involved: Zolar, Ramses
Overview: As work progresses on the Rameseum, Zolar wants to incorporate a strong defense system into the bar/shadowport. However, for the weapons he needs (E-Webs, Mortar Launchers, all tied into a central controlled system...hmm.), he gets referred to an arms dealer on Nar Shadda. He immediately plans a field trip, leaving management of the construction process to everyone's favorite resident Herglic, and sets off. When they arrive, Zolar sets off for the arms dealer while Ramses travels incognito to a droid shop for upgrades, namely a repulsorlift system and hidden vibroblades. After being shut down at the droid shop, Ramses awakens prematurely to find a disruptor pistol pointed at his head! Meanwhile, Zolar is attacked at the dealer's by an assasin droid. Ramses, after taking damage, finally defeats the bounty hunter and questions him. However, Zolar was not so fortunate, as he is stunned and captured. When Ramses finds out about Zolar's fate, he steals a speeder bike and catches up with the other droid's repulsortruck, which carries Zolar! In a high speed chase, Ramses finally defeats the opposing droid and rescues Zolar.
Interesting Moments: When assaulted by the assasin droid, Zolar hides behind the various crates of weapons and engages in a shootout. After his weapon arm is wounded, he opens a crate of grenades and begins tossing them, but to no avail when he gets stunned.
-Ramses is chasing the bounty hunter droid on a speeder bike when the other droid fires a concussion missle out the window. This destroys Ramses bike, but not before he leaps a la Mission Impossible onto the repulsortruck roof.

The Backstory: You'll never guess who sent that bounty hunter. Yes, Kisquar again, this time testing survival skills.

Adventure 36: Saving Private Inro, or The Bounty Bunch
Characters Involved: All
Overview: Kisquar, everyone's favorite Black Sun boss, contacts the fantastic four with a mission of vital importance. A man who holds vital Black Sun data from his experience as an employee has decided to flee and put himself into hiding. Zolar and Ramses are dispatched to hunt the fugitive down, while Torill and Tu'ebb are to aid, for they know what the man might do...they did once work for him, and were good friends. Yup, we're talkin about Prenin Inro. However, Kisquar picked the wrong men to do this. The crew decides not to kill him, but rather fake the offender's death. There is one catch, though...Darinna Makesa has been hired to aid them! After "convincing" her to aid their ideas (to the tune of about 15,000 credits), they use Darinna's information to find Prenin. He explains that he had no idea he was with Black Sun, and panicked once he found out the tru7h. As they prepare to leave to fake his death, they are interupted by bounty hunters in the hallway of Prennin's tenement. As Darinna holds the hunters off, Prenin, Torill and Tu'ebb (Zolar and Ramses were having their own troubles) try to escape through the window, only to be surprised by a very skilled Trianni bounty hunter who cuts them off. The group is only barely saved by Ramses' attack from behind. They then make away, and help Prenin fake his death.
Interesting Moments: While searching for Prenin's exact whereabout in a bar, Zolar injures "Big Louie" (our new name for a BIG alien), who happens to be the cantina's favorite resident. The others barflys chase them out, and they barely escape by jumping off a roof with Ramses' repulsors.
-To deal with the bounty hunters, Darinna fields them away with her neuronic whip. As Prenin, Torill and Tu'ebb try to escape out the window, a 7' cat creature wearing armor swings from the fire escape feet first through the window, landing and taking out Torill and Tu'ebb with barely a move. However, Ramses and Zolar (now on this roof after escaping from the mob) are moving down, Zolar by the stairs and Ramses by repulsors. Ramses floats down behind the hunter, and wounds him before the Trianii leaps through the window and grabs hold of the assasin droid. A biffed pot-shot from Zolar's double-barreled blaster rifle, coupled with the Trianni's vibro-claws in his cybernetic arm, cause the, uh, rapid descent, of Ramses and his load. The hunter then escapes.
-From the 'Tan, Torill, Tu'ebb, Ramses, Zolar, Prenin, and Darinna all watch as Prenin's space yacht cruises out from behind the moon, then explodes in a ball of flame. A News 5 space cutter arrives within 3 seconds flat.
Notes: This adventure is the first appearance of Hobbes, though he is not mentioned by name.
As Zolar and Ramses return home, they find an breathtaking moment: THE RAMESEUM IS DONE!!!! LET THE PARTY BEGIN!!!!!!!

The Backstory: A loyalty test now, Kisquar wants to find out if they crew is willing to kill former allies for Sprax. Though they fail, he is impressed by their resourcefulness.
