RockFest(pronoun): A "Rock/Alternative" concert containing local musicians and bands performing original and reproduced music. The need for a different flow of music, in the "Land of Reggae",
has given way to a new scene of local rock bands strutting their stuff at every Rockfest Concert in an attempt to explode locally, and also on the international scene.
This is the fourth consecutive year for the concert, and performers and fans alike are expressing their anticipation for this years' production of Rockfest '99. We expect some of last years artistes like Petrus, Koven, Fahrenheit, The Good The Bad And The Ugly as well as Downstairs to perform; to name a few.
We decided to hold off for awhile with RockFest. We realize that other promotion groups are trying the same things that AE are doing. There is a problem in that there aren't many bands to feature. One performance a year is fine, but 5 performances with the same bands doing the same songs just don't give an audience something to look forward to. We have not given up on RockFest though, but instead we working out ways to get new bands... new performaces to
put us back on top. There is only so much room on stage and only the smart one (us) will remain there.
We hope to have something solid for next year, 2001 when we're sure that it will be a show that you'll never forget. |
