As long as I can remember, I've always had a great passion for music... I know, I know everyone feels that way too, but not everyone appreciates the songs for the words before the rythmn, right? Well, thats me..
I listen to all types of music, but I was drawn more to Alternative/Rock. In Jamaica music as such were impossible to get, or hear.. My friends and I learnt about them through MTV, and friends who lives in the States and visits now and then... Anyways, we loved it... We're hooked for life... There's no hope for us... In 1995, my good friends Dennis & Cari, and I decided that if we're going to ever get to hear Alternative/Rock music play at any club or party, we will have to promote
them ourselves... We named our little group' The Alternative Experience Promotion'. Well, it shouldn't be too hard to see where the name came from... I really hate to brag, but I came up with all the ideas... Hey, if someone |

the Summer. Man, I didn't realize that there was so many people loved that sort of music... It went way better than we've ever anticipated. It was unbelievable!!! We did make a fortune, cause the cover charge was very little... We only wanted to make back the money we spent on the flyers... There was this group of kids that came every week, but never buys anything from the bar... They approched me one night tell me how great it was what we were doing... They told me that they have a band
and called themselves ' Downstairs'. They told me if I kept a concert they would play for free... I learnt that night also that there was another band, Bench who would love to do the same as well... Being the cool dude that I was, I told them that AE would have to hear them play before concidering |

to plan, promote, and setup our first concert... Woow.. It was the last Saturday of the Summer that made any sense where something like this was concerned, and only 2 days to get it off was not easy at all... It was they wickedest (is there such a word?) concert ever... Everyone loved it... Well, we continued with a few more parties, and got invited to playout at at few private parties before that year ended... January, 1996, we decided on putting together an annual concert... With
the help and guidance of Frankie Campbell, father of Downstair's Bassist, Andrew ... Well, you can go to the RockFest page to get that story.... We have lots more stuff planned, but the timing has to be right before we can do anything... We may not do much in 999 but, we'llmake sure that everyone remembers them.. And we still don't care about the money. |
