Dear Shocker,
This story is sort of old too. It's from my days as a University student.
![]()
Those make the best stories.
I was taking Physics 1251 (first level physics) at the University of Minnesota... it was
also my freshman year. I was doing the lab where you make collisions with floating cars
and spark-tape.
![]()
Sounds complicated... especially for a freshman.
Anyway, that stuff doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is the electricity. For the lab we had a high-powered power source which could make a spark jump almost an inch.
![]()
Sure, but could it make a woodchuck chuck?
Now this power source sent something like 70-90 jolts of electricity per second!
![]()
That's easy... You were messing around.
The next thing I felt was undescribable pain running through my arms, all the way up to
my shoulders at 70-80 jolts per second. I finally let go of the button
![]()
Finally?
and boy was I in bad shape. In the second or fraction of a second I was being
cooked, I had pulled muscles in my arms, shoulders and back from the spasams. I had
also managed to piss in my pants, get one killer headache and my entire lab in big
trouble.
![]()
Way to go!
I don't know if this qualifies as a shocking story... I sure think it does.
Sincerely,

A higher education can kill you.
