Emerging from the darkness, Terna squinted as he
stared at tall canyon cliffs rising above. Following the canyon
towards the west, Terna began to see the outline of a dwelling of
sorts. Curious, the Tellasian headed north towards the dwelling.
Upon reaching the end of the canyon's northern path, Terna was now
in front of a small hut. A quick inspection of the area produced
no signs of the owner. Knowing most of the inhabitants to be under
the control of Colnar, Terna quickly went inside to search for items
of use in the quest to save Dondra.
Inside,Terna discovered that it was a one room efficiency with a
battered bed, iron stove, a rocking chair and a cross hanging above
the wall. Heeding the advice taught by the Elders, Terna took the
only thing which wasn't nailed down, the cross and hurried out before
the owner returned to find a stranger pillaging his house.
Returning to the path which Terna followed to the hut, the adventurer
now could make out the form of a wild animal ahead on the road leading
westwards. The Tellasian rummaged through the sack quickly to find
a weapon, but the search only produced some rope and a mysterious
vial with clear liquid. "Here goes nothing," she said
as she downed the contents of the vial and proceeded westward. The
creature charged forward towards Terna but stopped abruptly searching
for something. Perplexed, Terna swung her fists at the beast and
noticed she could not see her arms. "It must have been an invisbility
potion," surmised Terna laughing her way further westward along
the gravel path.
The path eventually came to a crossroads. To the west lie more of
the hot and dry expanse of the Dondra desert and possibly certain
death, while the northern road seemed to veer towards civilization.
A small village loomed in the distance and signs of life also seemed
evidence with the movement of a few friendly forms in the streets.
Hoping to gain more help for her quest in the village, Terna headed
northwards.
