Animations |

Note: To view these animations
you need the Intel Indeo 5.03 (or later) codec. Why? Because
it's an excellent compressor and is the only one that does a good job and doesn't create
banding effects in the foggy scenes. |

The big whole thing!!! If you have a fast connection, you can download the 12MB 15fps MOV with soundtrack. It's worth it! The animation is also in the Siggraph '98 Kinetix demo reel. See the Kinetix web page to order your copy. And a part of it (1:40 minute) was in the Siggraph '98 Electronic Theatre and in the Siggraph Video Review tape. Click here! >>>

Early tests And here you will find some early motion tests. These are from the time I was still trying the models looking for animation problems or working on the horse basic cycles. Here are some test for the knight, done mostly to verify that the model was animatable and to check my ability to match a realistic movement. |

Testing the gauntlet movements (320x240, 15fps, 209K) |
![]() |
Trying to give the knight some personality (320x240, 15fps, 351K) |
![]() |
And teaching him how to use sword and shield (320x240, 15fps, 226K) |
Horse tests I didn't want to proceed with modeling and animating until I was sure that the most hard parts were feasible and good enough. The most complex animations were the different horse cycles, walking, trotting and running. |

![]() |
Walk cycle, not final, all Forward Kinematics. (320x240, 15fps, 176K) |
![]() |
Trot test cycle (FK, slow motion, never used) (320x240, 15fps, 223K.) |
![]() |
Gallop cycle, with knight, all FK. (320x240, 30fps, 167K) |
