Kitchen, Dining Area and
Pantry
The two exterior french doors in
this area were again used to maximize passive solar
efficiency. White lace curtains cover these doors. They lead
to the rear deck area and to the stairs leading to the
spa.
The
soft-white Italian tile flooring continues into the
kitchen,
pantry and dining area.
The entire counter area is covered with white Italian tile.
Hand painted Italian tile covers the wall facing the back of
the home and around the stove top area.
There
are nine recessed lights, two adjustable brass light
fixtures and a "Casablanca" crystal/wood ceiling light and
fan located over the dining area. It is equipped with
"Intelli-touch" controls. It allows dimming, speed controls
(5 speeds), direction change and automatic light operation
while out or on vacation.
The
kitchen cabinets are oak with recessed adjustable shelving.
The drawers are on rollers. There are three cutting boards
and the handles are all solid brass. The kitchen has a
recessed ironing board built into the wall.
The
walk-in pantry which is separate by a pocket door has ample
shelving and floor area for storage. This area stays cools
and can be used to store potatoes, onions and garlic. It is
lighted and the main fuse box is located on one
wall.
All
cabinets, shelves and drawers in the kitchen and pantry are
covered with washable linoleum tiles for ease of
cleaning.
The
double oven has a self-cleaning upper. The cook top stove
with an interchangeable grill-top are all by "Jenn-Air". The
top of the line "Whirlpool" dishwasher and a "SinkMaster"
3/4 hp garbage disposal have been installed. The kitchen
sink has three compartments with hardware of a soap
dispenser and a spray hose. There are four windows in this
area. The two center windows over the sink are operable and
have screens.
The
walls and ceiling are painted in a software white enamel and
are washable.
The
fabric in the dining area is linen and is also
washable.
The
perimeter walls are tongue and groove redwood and the
triangles are mahogany with fir trim.
