A design book written about small gardens, this book has a lot of detailed information about
the design ideas, structures, materials, and plants that will help solve a lot of the problems

A month by month guide to gardening in Canada, with lots of help to extend the garden
season year-round. Well written, with instructions that are detailed enough for beginners, but
enough detail for those more experienced, too.

-
This is a well-written, easy to read guide to creating gardens that look great in all
seasons. The information is clearly presented, with beautiful pictures to give lots of ideas
and inspiration. There are a lot of good tips and design concepts that take a lot of the
confusion and mystery out of good design.
-
Johnson, Lorraine, "The Ontario Naturalized Garden -
The Complete Guide to Using Native Plants",
1995, Whitecap Books,
Toronto/Vancouver, ISBN 1-55110-305-2

This is more then just a complete guide to using native plants in Ontario gardens (what to
grow, where and how to grow them, and where to get them), it's also a very interesting and
well-researched discussion of the current state of native ecosystems in Ontario, and our
interactions with and effects on them. Most of the information in this book would be of
interest to anyone, not just residents of Ontario, Canada.
