4: Sierra Foothills Rose Society Meeting at 7:00 P.M. at the St. Marks Lutheran Church, 7869 Kingswood Dr., Citrus Heights, CA. Program: Orphan Rose Auction with Auctioneer Jim Steinmetz and Rose Pruning Demo by Members of the Sierra Foothills Rose Society.

6: Pruning of Sacramento's McKinley Park Rose Garden by local rosarians, 9 AM -- ??. SRS Pruning Demonstration by Consulting Rosarian Muriel Humenick will be at 9:00 A.M. - ??? Rain date is January 13th. Local area rosarians and the public are invited to come down to McKinley Park Rose Garden and learn how to prune and help out on pruning this rose garden's 1300 rose bushes. Tool sharpening demonstration by Fred Foerster and Bill Humenick

29(Rain date May 6) 12:00 - 5:00 PM: 10th Annual Woodland Library Memorial Rose Garden Tour. Eight private gardens will be open in addition to the public gardens at the Woodland Library. The various gardens present a rich tapestry of old and modern roses in formal and informal settings, and newly planted and well-established roses and gardens. Advanced ticket packets with map and other information will be available beginning April 1st. Contact Pat Murray at 530-662-9092. Donations are $6.00. Packets will be available on the day of the tour at the Memorial Rose Garden, Woodland Library Grounds (First and Court Street) from 11:30 - 3:30 PM.
