Androsace pyrenaica X carnea. A much neglected plant with lots of charm It has the appearance of a difficult plant and is exciting to grow from seed as each one seems different. The seed germinates well, the flower colour varies from white to deep pink and the rosette have leaves from pointed leaves to round. (perhaps some extra genes have got in.)All make beautifully jewelled cushions.
Eritrichium howardii (Not nanum!). Slightly easier than nanum the challenges and jewels of the high alpine family. The blue of the flowers is magical, and the cushion covered in fine hairs. Related to the forget-me-not. This plant is from seed and will not live long.
Draba bryoides var. imbricata. A particularly compact form. Needs open situation and a well drained scree or trough. In spring the rosettes burst into emerald green and flower.
Prunus incisa 'Kojo No Mai' and, behind it, a purple leaved Cordyline australis
I've tried to germinate the rosulate violas but then came across this Aubrieta 'Elsa Lancaster'. It looks just like a rosulate viola, until it flowers
Saxifraga 'Karel Stiven'. One of the early Czech crosses
Saxifraga 'Allendale Pearl' Containing S. georgei blood. It seems to have inherited the tendency to winter damage.
