Oxalis - the high alpine forms from Patagonia and Bolivia - if you happen to be that way! No nasty little lowland run-abouts please. Sisyrinchiums. The plants I love include those being transferred to the separate genus Phaiophleps and Olsynium. Makes sense because they are so different. Just goes to show that a botanical naming system is useless until we find a way to teach it to the plants! Narcissus hederanthus. A treasure but needs careful identification as it does not seem to fit the botanical key too well. Any early, dwarf (less than 7cm) bulbocodium type with prostrate leaves, small narrow flowers and exerted style stands a chance of being what I am seeking. Narcissus alpestris Gentiana tegestina/bavarica/pumilla - At present they all seem to turn out to be G. verna Viola verracunda yakussimana. Is this still in cultivation. Very few nurseries stock it. Let me know if you find it. Fritillaria pyrenaica - pale yellow form. I only know this plant from a photo in 'Bulbs' by Phillips and Rix page 105. Has anyone seed to swap? Someone in the Scottish Rock Garden Club must be growing it .
