Tapalpa is located about 1.5 hours from Guadalajara. This is a great place to practice your thermaling skills and to get into some real XC flying. Typically this site picks up in the early afternoon. Local pilots have recorded flights of over 80 kilometers. Takeoff is at AGL 800 meters. Best wind direction for flying Tapalpa is East but it is still good when blowing North East to South East.
