Melancholy
clouds form a dapple-grey sky;
Showers of rain hide the tears that I cry.
Restless winds urge feelings to fly,
To a land faraway without a goodbye.
Wearying
days; a journey to unfold,
Seeking the warmth for a heart that is cold.
Wanting the wisdom without feeling old,
A longing to touch; be held; to hold.
I
wish to see the world without a jewelled view,
But places of purity are too far; too few.
There's much to be done with little to do,
Needing the strength of one and the wisdom of two.
Friends
of a lifetime are strangers we meet;
Differing
melodies to the exact same beat.
Barriers of ice melt in companionship's heat,
The heart's tapestry becoming a bit more complete.
Perhaps from that friendship love's roses bloom,
Filling your existence with unmatched perfume.
A guiding light cutting through loneliness' gloom,
Ending the darkness that threatened to consume.
Have
all the hollow nights been banished for good,
Or is it just a lesson that's not understood,
When can turns to will, could, would and then should?
The heart's pain becomes more than it ever withstood.
Yet
the day may dawn bright; the sky become clear,
When the heart's true delight is constantly near.
And the soul's darkest torment and inconsolable fear,
Like dapple-grey cloud, on the wind disappear.
