Julita Manor

The first known owner of the Julita Estate was the son of Erik the Holy, king Knut Eriksson.

We know that there has been vikingkings stronghold for many centuries before that.

In 1180 he gave the estate over to the Cistercian Order.

An abbey, Saba, was founded where the manor is now. In 1527 the manor once more became a royal estage.

The estate was aquired by the Nordic Museum (national historical museum) in 1943.
