EMMIGRATION form Julita

During the last three decades of the 19th century nearly 500 persons emigrated from Julita - most of them to United States.That was almost 20% of the population in Julita.

There are of course more emigrants that was born in Julita, but don´t traveled directly from Julita abroad. About them we have only a fragment of knowledge. A few of them are know thanks to information from relatives.

Lars Pettersson, former president of Julita Local Historical Society, did some research about emigrants from Julita in the 70ths. The list of emigrants on these pages are basically the result of his (hard) work. Thanks Lars!
