Intake Port and Polish

My first mod was to port and polish my intake manifold.  I basically just smoothed out the sharp edges on the inside using first a dremel, and then a roll of 120 grit sand paper wrapped around a small rod in my drill.  I then moved up to 280 grit in the drill, and then 280 grit by hand to get the spots I couldn't get with the drill.  I used a polishing compound with a cloth and polished it up really nice after the sand paper, and I bolted it back up.  All this effort and how did it pay off?  No noticable difference in acceleration or top speed.  It wasn't any slower, but it wasn't any faster.  I wouldn't bother with this mod.
