Liberal Thinking: The few people who can't use martial arts or other non-lethal means of self-defense--the young, the old, the infirm, the disabled, the weak, the small, and the pregnant--are simply the necessary sacrifice we must make to criminals, to avoid the risks of letting people be armed. Here's what THOSE Officers say about this Gun Registry Farce
![]()
Bullet-Proof Vehicles for Sale
The San Antonio-based company, the world's leading manufacturer of bullet-proof cars, is also eying markets in Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo and other Central African countries. All the countries are in the Great Lakes region, reputed to have the worst gun crime record in Africa due to an influx of small arms occasioned by civil strife. Crime experts say small arms, such as pistols and AK-47 rifles, are normally smuggled into Kenya from Uganda, the stateless Somalia, the Congo, Ethiopia and the Sudan. The use of firearms is reported in almost every crime committed in Kenya, especially in urban centres. An average of five gun deaths are reported daily throughout the country. And carjackers, who are normally armed with pistols and AK-47 rifles, snatch an average of seven vehicles on Nairobi streets every night. In July, police commissioner Mohammed Hussein Ali said crime - especially carjackings - had gone down due to recent changes in the force, in which new officers were deployed to various stations. He said the only problem bothering law enforcement officers were the gangs hijacking matatus at night, while posing as commuters. But he said police had started measures to wipe out the gangs from public service vehicles.(Well, If Wendy and her roving "coalition of idiots" (Parrish the thought..ha..) were to 'help out' in this country, all 'law abiding' citizens would be disarmed, and the criminals would enjoy more of the freedom to rape, rob, and murder, as the criminals in 'disarmed' Canada, Australia, and the U.K. are quickly discovering. Why would this be happening? Because OUR government has indicated, it's the 'GUNS' not the criminals that are at fault, and if we could only get rid of the guns, we could all join hands and sing kumbia.. ) N.Z. Business welcomes move to streamline gun laws( Ya sure) As Minister for Justice and Customs, Senator Ellison has worked with Highland Sports on customs matters relating to the import/export business. Highland Sports sells sporting goods and clothing throughout the world through offices in New Zealand, South Africa and Australia. Senator Ellison said the Federal Government had committed $1 million towards establishing a National Firearms Management System which would include a national firearms licensing and registration system. The system would allow the details of firearms to be electronically transferred from one state to another, benefiting sporting shooters, dealers and firearms control, he said. As well as allowing law enforcement agencies to track firearms throughout Australia, the system would reduce red tape for sporting shooters who moved interstate or crossed state boundaries to hunt or for competition, Senator Ellison said.(Is it just me, or does this bullshit sound awful familiar? Wow, they have committed ONE million to establishing a National Firearms Management System.. hahahahahahahahahahah.. Obviously they believe New Zealand citizens are much much more gullible than Canadian citizens.. At least Rock said it would cost TWO Million, Now on it's way to TWO BILLION.. And, didn't New Zealand already try this years ago, and scrapped it because it was virtually useless for controlling crime? I guess 'Senator Ellison' is one of these clowns that's simply incapable of learning anything from others previous mistakes!) S.A. Road rage accused tells of death threats A Johannesburg man arrested over a road rage incident which left three people dead complained in the city magistrate's court on Tuesday that he had been receiving death threats. On August 1 Kekana was driving his car with its headlights set on bright in Unigray while on his way to his sister's house. A bakkie with six occupants followed him to his sister's house, where an argument ensued. The men broke his car window and pulled him out of the car, threatening to kill him. Kekana then allegedly drew his firearm and fired several shots at the attackers who tried to drive away, but their bakkie overturned. Jan Verster, 37, from South Hills, was shot in the stomach. Tony Vilente, 65, from Germiston, was shot in the chest and back. Both men died at the scene. The third man, 32-year-old Frans Chilane from South Hills, who was found outside his bakkie. He either died of gunshot wounds or when the bakkie overturned. Verster's son Stephan, 16, was shot in the chest but he survived. During the bail application, Shapiro handed over affidavits from a metro police officer alleging the men were known for terrorising black motorists. (SIX against ONE? That sure sounds like self defence to me! But of course, this man should be lucky that he does not live in Canada. Here, he would have been killed.. It's mandatory. If your armed with a pistol, and defend yourself against six attackers, and NOT killed, your going to jail for having the audacity to carry a firearm, and NOT die!..) Australian Police fears over armed gang's spree A GANG of armed bandits could be responsible for eight robberies in six weeks, police have revealed. Police yesterday appealed for public help to identify gang members – who have robbed post offices, jewellers and hotels – in groups of up to four. Detective Inspector Linda Fellows, from the Drug and Organised Crime Investigation Branch's Operation Counteract, said the robberies were spread across suburbs from Walkerville to Morphett Vale. "The offenders have been armed with firearms as well as knives, syringes and baseball bats," she said. "The robberies have been committed across the metropolitan area. (Well, it's a damn good job the authorities have disarmed everyone 'but' the criminals 'down under'! If they hadn't done that, some of these victims could have reduced this crime spree by quite a few members... Ahh. but then they wouldn't be victims anymore would they, and the government would lose some 'control' over the 'law abiding' population.) Registry ruckus Opponents of Ottawa's firearms registry go out of their way to get arrested. But the police pay them no attention. OTTAWA - Ed Hudson, a 59-year-old veterinarian and gun enthusiast, can't get himself prosecuted for being an unlicensed owner of 50 unregistered guns, no matter what he does. He has been arrested three times and had two shotguns seized after pulling stunts where he practically begged the police to charge him under the Firearms Act. But the charges that were laid - having a weapon in a public place or obstructing a police officer (under the Criminal Code, not the firearms law) - were always dropped. Police did confiscate two of his long guns, and now are seeking destruction orders for them. Earlier this month, a court hearing in Humboldt, Sask., on whether the police can destroy one of his 12-gauge shotguns was postponed, again. Hudson, who has been a Canadian citizen for 24 years but still speaks with the southern drawl of his native Atlanta, is impatient for the hearing to be held, eager to make in court constitutional arguments about a right to bear arms that he thinks would blow a hole in the federal gun licensing and registration law. He's not giving up. (Many, many, many, attempts by many, many, people, to be charged under the firearms act have been ignored by the feds. They made a law, but refuse to enforce it because they KNOW it's unconstitutional, and would never withstand a supreme court challenge. But, they still insist on holding this farce of a law over the heads of law abiding target shooters and hunters as a direct threat. This is itself is unconstitutional. The Liberals 'have' to admit they simply wasted a billion dollars in tax money, on a pet project that will never work, and never make anyone safer, anyplace. But, no doubt it has made many, many, Liberals friends a lot of money. $1,000,000,000.00, one thousand million dollars, has been wasted, and the government WON'T charge anybody under the act this money was wasted on. That in itself is a crime against the people of this country. ) The private crime Perhaps it was the location that made Wednesday's horrific hostage-taking incident all the more chilling. Just as Wednesday morning seemed like just another workday for downtown workers, so Brookes' life in Ajax, on the surface at least, seemed average. Neighbours were shocked by news that he had assaulted and shot at his wife, Marlene, in the food court of the TD Centre and then taken another young woman hostage before the police sniper took him out. Scratch the surface, however, and a different and sickeningly familiar picture of Brookes emerges. He had pleaded guilty to five counts of assault with a knife and spent 30 days in jail. He had been ordered to stay away from Marlene and their two children. There were financial woes. He had problems in his workplace. He had beaten his wife on numerous occasions before she left him. Once again, we find ourselves plunged into another frenzy of how to cope with that most private crime -- domestic violence. The big difference this time is that some fine police work means the victim of the abuse didn't die. This time, for once, it was the perpetrator who paid the price. But the issues this case raises are ones that come up again and again. First, it points out what a waste of time the federal gun registry is. We punish farmers who need long guns to protect their livestock. Meanwhile, a man with a history of violence against his family has no trouble getting a firearm -- even though his assault sentence banned him from legally possessing one. (Virtually every abusive husband that has finally murdered his wife, children, or both, has had not only a ban from owning firearms, but a restraining order against him as well. If a man is willing to kill, it's not likely that a restraining order will make him stop and think. What would make him stop and think is to allow these women some empowerment by taking a firearms safety course, and learning how to 'really' protect themselves and their families. But No, the government says they 'must' remain victims, they 'must' not protect themselves, they 'must' die like the good little politically correct, subservients, the government insists they be. Bullshit!!! Women should be the first ones standing up and demanding the tools to prevent their abuse! Right now, I'm sure it's very gratifying to any woman, that she has the legal right to maim or even kill her usually much larger attacker, providing she uses her bare hands only.) YARMOUTH - For the second time this summer, a restricted firearm has been discovered in Yarmouth, concealed in a compartment in a motorhome occupied by senior citizens. Margaret Ruston Kumm, a 66-year-old American tourist who kept a loaded revolver with her linen in the bedroom closet of her RV, was fined $1,135 Tuesday in Yarmouth provincial court. Mrs. Kumm of Leesburg, Fla., was arrested on the Yarmouth waterfront Monday after she and her husband rolled off the fast ferry the Cat from Bar Harbor, Maine, in their motorhome. The couple was ordered to remain in Yarmouth overnight, and Mrs. Kumm pleaded guilty before Judge James Burrill to a charge of failing to tell border services officers at Yarmouth that she kept a loaded .38-calibre Smith & Wesson revolver near her bunk. (I guess these otherwise law abiding Americans are un aware that Canadians are 'subjects', and not citizens of their country, and as such, have been legislated as defenceless. Canada, a culture of defencelessness, and mandatory victimization! Doesn't it just make your chest swell with pride? But, don't let it swell too much, it only makes you more visible and a bigger target for the bad guys..) U.S. government makes plans for world's next big outbreak of influenza WASHINGTON (AP) - Closing schools, restricting travel and rationing scarce medications may be the country's first protections if a powerful new flu strain spurs a worldwide outbreak because it will take months to brew a vaccine, say government preparations for the next pandemic. Specialists say it's only a matter of time before the next one strikes, and concern is rising that the recurring bird flu in Asia could be the trigger if it mutates in a way that lets it spread easily among people. There have been three flu pandemics in the last century, the worst in 1918, which killed more than half a million Americans and 20 million people worldwide. It's impossible to predict the toll of the next one. But estimates suggest a bad one could kill up to 207,000 Americans, says the country's new response plan, obtained Wednesday by The Associated Press. That's almost six times more lives than regular flu claims every year. Millions of sick patients could swarm doctors' offices and hospitals, and the country could suffer an economic and social wallop from disruption of transportation, commerce, even routine public safety. (And what is Canada doing? I'm sure Paul Martin has heard the news, and is currently leaving no stone un-turned in the search for a Liberal donating friend that can, by the application of great money patches come up with a viable plan to cover their asses in the event of a huge outbreak. Maybe I'm just cynical, but is there 'anything' in the Liberal record, that they have done 'anything' in the past, to make us think they would do 'anything' different in the future? I rest my case) Man shot dead in downtown standoff Toronto — Police shot and killed a man Wednesday morning as he held a woman at gunpoint in front of Union Station during the height of the morning rush hour. The man was killed around 8:50 a.m. by a police sharpshooter. His hostage ran toward police when the gunman was hit. She appeared to be uninjured. The incident unfolded as hundreds of commuters streamed out of the train station and along the sidewalks around the downtown terminal. The hostage-taking began shortly after 8 a.m., minutes after another woman was beaten and shots were fired in a food court under the TD Centre at 100 Wellington St. W. The beating victim, a 45-year-old Toronto woman, was later identified as the hostage-taker's estranged wife. Anthony Brookes, 45, was shot to death on the sidewalk in front of Union Station at the height of the morning rush hour as he held a hostage at gunpoint. Minutes earlier, Brookes had beaten and shot at his estranged wife after surprising her in the concourse of the TD Centre. Brookes seized his hostage, 20-year-old Nicole Regis, after he was confronted by a police officer on Front Street. About 40 minutes later, he was killed by a single shot to the head fired by a police sharpshooter. Regis was not injured during her ordeal.(Some of the things that have come to light since this episode. This man had a firearm prohibition order against him which only proves that the firearms act is a pile of crap and won't make anyone any safer. (was that sawed off gun registered? Ya sure!!) The Feds keep track of everyone they can, that is 'allowed' to own firearms, but does not keep track of those 'prohibited' from owning firearms.. Makes a lot of sense eh! The Young lady that was taken hostage was the daughter of a 'Judge'!! Perhaps we have one more person on the bench that has been convinced that the draconian firearms act won't keep anyone safer, and until it focusses on those that have been prohibited from owning guns rather than law abiding hunters and target shooters things will never get any better. I only feel sorry for two people here. The young hostage, and the cop that had to kill this person. It could not have been easy for either of them..) 1 million guns unregistered More than 1 million guns remain unregistered in Canada, 18 months after a government-imposed registration deadline, a document released by the Canada Firearms Centre confirms. The total number of valid firearm licence holders who still haven't registered a gun stands at 406,834. The admission is proof of "massive non-compliance and incompetence," fumed Conservative MP Garry Breitkreuz, who obtained the latest numbers through an Access to Information request. The document, released yesterday, shows almost 620,000 firearms remain to be reregistered and there are more than 78,000 applications to register or reregister caught in processing or a backlog of the Firearms Information System. The Firearms Centre, however, denies there's a backlog and says processing of applications occurs within days. It couldn't explain why its own information refers to a backlog. Breitkreuz repeated his party's call for the Martin government to cut its losses and scrap the controversial registry. "It has never been used to solve a crime or to prevent a crime or to improve the ability of the police to do their work. It's only the bureaucrats who are defending it," he said. Thomas Vares, a spokesman for the Canada Firearms Registry, insists the program has been largely successful with more than 6.8 million of 7.9 million prohibited, restricted and non-restricted guns now registered across the country. "That breaks down for licensing and for registration to a compliance rate that's approaching 90%," he said. Breitkreuz isn't buying the positive spin saying, those stats demonstrate a failure in the management of the firearms program. "It is simply not credible for the Liberals to claim that their billion-dollar registry is of any value whatsoever to police when it is missing so many guns," the Saskatchewan MP added. (The fact that the government figures always being 'parroted' are in themselves a lie never seems to come up. There are as many as 14 million guns and 5 million owners that are not in the system, and not even being acknowledged by the government, to make their figure look like higher compliance. They have 'never' been able to explain what happened to all those guns previously estimated by way of import/export and manufacturing documents over the last 50 years.. Their sole basis for their 'current' gun count is based on a phone survey of people stupid enough to admit to a stranger that they have firearms in their home!) Promise could gut military Ships, jets may be scrapped to fulfill Liberal troop pledge
The Canadian military may be forced to mothball all of its remaining
destroyers and ground up to a quarter of its front-line fighter jets in
order to fulfill a Liberal election promise to create a new,
5,000-strong "peacekeeping brigade." Bill Graham, the Defence
Minister, is to present options on the proposed new brigade to Cabinet
by the end of the month, but Defence sources have told the National
Post the military has been told to prepare drastic measures to pay for
the idea. During the federal election campaign, the Liberals promised
to add a
new brigade of 5,000 troops to the overstretched and chronically
underfunded Canadian military specifically for peacekeeping and "peace
support" missions. The military was caught completely off guard
by the pledge, which senior officers believe Paul Martin, the Prime
Minister, made hastily in the heat of fighting an early Conservative
surge in the campaign. One senior military official, speaking on
condition of anonymity, said the Armed Forces are worried they "are
going to be perceived as being in bed with this cockamamie idea." They
also fear the plan could lead to the effective demise of the navy and
air force.(Liberals
will do what ever they can to make this country, and it citizens, as
defenceless as possible. They know they can ride on the coat tails of
the U.S. forever, knowing full well the U.S. would halt any invasion of
Canada in 'their' defence. Canadians? Well, were just fodder for the
Liberal 'New World Order')Delays hit firearms registry redesign No new computer system two years after deal signed Firm that designed faulty original is still on payroll OTTAWA—A stream of reviews and government-ordered changes has delayed the final redesign of the federal gun registry.Chief Firearms Commissioner Bill Baker acknowledged in an interview that a 15-year contract to redesign and replace the old Canadian Firearms Registration computer system still has not delivered a new system, two years after it was awarded. It was originally said to be worth $300 million — $34 million to design the new system, and $266 million to operate it over 15 years — and by July, 2003, had ballooned to $371.56 million, according to documents obtained last year by Conservative gun control critic Garry Breitkreuz. Federal officials dispute those numbers but were unable to provide an exact figure, or say whether Ottawa has paid out penalties for the delays. The overall gun control program — licensing owners and registering guns — was originally projected to have a net cost of $2 million, but after 10 years in the works, will hit the $1-billion mark this year. Said Conservative critic Breitkreuz of the delays: "It's a bureaucrat's dream."(It certainly is! A bottomless money pit, filled with scores of overpaid bureaucrats, that know absolutely nothing about firearms or their net benefits to society, relentlessly pushing a system that doesn't work onto the 'ever paying' taxpayer simply to make 'urban voters' feel safer.. The firearms laws in this country, 'encourage' criminal activity, by actively making sure the criminal is in no danger what-so-ever, while robbing, raping, or beating you or you family members in the effort to relieve you of what 'they' want.. Want proof? Call your local police department, tell them you are a business man who plans to make a bank deposit about 10 pm, could they please dispatch a patrol car and officer to the bank at that time to oversee your deposit, because you are afraid you 'might' be robbed. The police will politely tell you they can not 'free up an officer and patrol car' and offer that service on demand. Their mandate is to protect the community, NOT the individual. You THEN say ok, I will strap on my pistol, under my coat, and provide my own protection, and then hang up.. At 10pm at your local bank, you will be confronted by police officers, who suddenly have the mandate to protect the would be criminal that 'might' try to rob you, by stopping you, searching you, and if you are carrying a firearm, arrest YOU for the crime of not having the illusory permit to carry a concealed firearm, that might possibly harm a criminal in the course of 'his' job... You see how it works? If YOU 'might' be in danger, there is no mandate for individual protection, if a criminal 'might' be in danger, they suddenly have a mandate to protect any criminal that 'might' show up' from YOU! Recent discussions on the firearms digest, and in several 'letters to the editor' have hit the nail right on the head. Canadian Authorities say: if confronted by a criminal demanding your money, give it to him. After all, "Is your money worth your life"? Why are potential VICTIMS forced to make this decision? In a REAL law and order Society, it should be the criminal that has to make that decision! The 'Criminal' should have to decide:"Is this guys money worth MY life"? If more criminals were forced to ask themselves that question, there would be a hell of a lot less robberies and rapes! That attitude has certainly started working in the U.S.A. where CCW laws have caused the violent crime rate in the majority of states to fall drastically, far below Canada's. Not every trained, individual citizen, wants to carry a firearm, but as long as the criminal does not know 'who' is carrying, everyone is safer because of those that do!) Rights violated by police search of home, judge rules Yukon Mounties violated Herzog's rights when they searched his home, the judge said WHITEHORSE - A Whitehorse man has been handed a conditional discharge after a two-year court battle with RCMP over his guns. A territorial court judge has determined police violated Alfred Herzog's rights when they arrested him and searched his home. The 61-year-old man can avoid a criminal record if he registers his unlicensed rifle, and keeps the peace for the next three months. Gork was investigating complaints from a government lands official who says Herzog threatened him. Herzog denied the threats, and when he refused to discuss the situation without a lawyer, Gork arrested him. A quick check with the firearms registry showed Herzog owned guns. Police told Herzog he would stay in jail unless he surrendered them. Minutes later, officers were escorting their prisoner to his Lake Laberge home. There, he directed them to a loaded handgun under his pillow, and two other weapons, before he was released from custody. Last year, Herzog was acquitted of threatening the government official. He's spent the past 12 months fighting the firearms charges. Now Judge Dennis Overend has ruled Herzog's arrest and subsequent search amounted to arbitrary police detention. Overend says Herzog should have been released. Then he would have certainly unloaded his weapons before turning them in. As for the unlicensed shotgun, Overend says if Herzog registers the gun, he gets to keep his clean record.(Wait a minute!!! If the search was illegal, anything recovered in that search should be IMMEDIATELY returned to the 'victim' without strings attached, or this man may be being illegally deprived of his private property 'without' due process of law. Had the illegal search not been done, the firearms would not have been confiscated in the first place. The fact that he has been 'given' a conditional discharge for not breaking any laws what-so-ever (any evidence that he broke 'any' law was gathered illegally) should be considered highly suspect of even more of his rights being violated.) The FOOD Strike Begins Lanark Farmers are as Mad as Hell and Their NOT going to take it anymore Failing a suitable and timely response the united landowners of Lanark, Carleton, Renfrew, Hastings, Glengarry, Frontenac, Leeds & Grenville Counties and numerous farm, landowners & rural associations throughout Ontario will begin rotating and escalating farm strikes and road closures on September 3, 2004. The first of these actions will commence at Shaw Rd. in Pakenham Township, followed by actions each and every week at communities throughout Ontario, leading to significant demonstrations in downtown Ottawa, in the shadows of the people's parliament. The farm strike actions will eliminate gouging by middle men and corporations and will be the beginning of the end to unjust government interference in rural Ontario. The strike will include restricting road traffic at key intersections, selling farm fresh LLA-inspected beef and steaks for $1.99 per pound, selling un-graded farm fresh produce and products (bypassing government enforcers and inspectors), tractor convoys and farm/rural displays of dissatisfaction. Each week, a new location will be announced to selected media outlets as the farm strikes beat a path to picket the corrupt halls of power in Ottawa.(Ottawa is on a quest to eliminate the the family farm, in favour of Giant AgraCorps, which in most cases are probably owned by Liberal friends and political donators anyway. Dozens of attacks on rural life by Urban bureaucrats and politicians have left them no choice. Urban Liberal thinking of course, is "what good is a farm, if you can't pave it over and build a new housing subdivision" ) U.K. Gun Owner Jailed For Five Years A BUSINESSMAN who kept a handgun and ammunition in a safe at his home was yesterday jailed for five years. Bernard Campbell, 45, who owns Bernie's Gym in Pembroke Place, Liverpool, claimed he had the gun because he was concerned about shootings in the city. The father-of-two pleaded guilty at Liverpool Crown Court to possessing a self-loading automatic pistol, ammunition and a CS gas canister. The offences came to light when police carried out a search of Campbell's home under the Misuse of Drugs Act. Kim Egerton, prosecuting, told the court police went to Campbell's home in Fairfield Crescent, Fairfield, on March 12. They found a 9mm self-loading pistol in a locked safe upstairs. The court heard there was also a clip of eight rounds of ammunition and a further 22 bullets. Miss Egerton said the gun had been de-activated, but was adapted to fire the bullets found at Campbell's home. Some of them were designed to expand on impact. When police also searched Campbell's gymnasium, they found four rounds of 8mm cartridges in the pocket of a jacket, which were not capable of being used in the gun. In his car was a can of CS pepper spray, which is also a prohibited weapon. The court heard that when Campbell was interviewed by detectives, he said he had had the gun for seven or eight years. He had bought it and the ammunition from a man in Haydock for £300. When he bought it, he asked if it had been used and was told it was new, said Miss Egerton. "He said he had the gun because, 'everyone in Liverpool was concerned about shootings' and said he bought the CS gas in Belgium and had that for his own protection." David Williams, defending, said Campbell has no previous convictions and was aware there had been a number of firearms amnesties but he had forgotten to hand the pistol in to the police.(Defending yourself in the U.K. is a crime. The criminal MUST be allowed to kill you, or it would seem that YOU risk spending a great deal of your life in her majesties prison! What a great place to live. The government passes laws that virtually assure the uncontrolled proliferation of illegal firearms, and a soaring level of violent attacks, then jail anyone that dares to take the precaution of having the tools to defend their families, even when having them LOCKED SECURELY in a safe! Currently, you stand a MUCH higher risk of being attacked and murdered in the U.K., than you do in any getto of the U.S.A. What a wonderful accomplishment this has been for the British Government. This really makes you want to rush right out and visit Merry Ole England before it spirals down a rat hole of crime. I don't think so.. Stay in Canada, where you will only be 'harassed' by the government for daring to defend yourself. While pepper spray for self defence is also illegal here, there is no law against carrying it for defence against 'dogs' and bears.. I would 'still prefer to have my .40 on my hip during a bank deposit run, but alas, the law says that a man that shoots 8-12 thousand rounds a year, is not as trustworthy/skilled as trained(?) security persons and this also includes many police officers, that can barely hit anything during 'qualifications' once or twice a year.) The Thrill of the Chase Women, throughout North America and Canada, are brought together in an exciting new book, filled with true tales about when and how they became accomplished hunters. The book begins with a telling foreword by Jim Zumbo, hunting editor, Outdoor Life. Zumbo reveals his own shortcomings on the subject of women hunters and tells how when his eight-year-old son was outfitted and prepared to become a hunter. Zumbo writes, “I was guilty of being one of those males who was initially complacent, if not completely disinterested, in woman hunters. I have a son and three daughters, and it was Dan who received all my attention when it came to hunting and shooting, even though he is my second oldest child. When he was eight, I bought him a BB gun; a .22 when he was 10; a .243 when he was 12, and so on. He sat on my shoulders when he was in diapers as I worked my hunts before he was old enough to get a hunting license, and occasionally Janette, my oldest child, went along as well. Janette was shy and quiet and read books in hunting camp while Dan tagged along with me.”(Well, colour me guilty!! I have three daughters, they all like to shoot, but cringe at the thought of 'Bambi on the table' although, they have ALL eaten venison, and many other types of wild game, I doubt if I could convince them to actually 'hunt'. However, I'm saved!!! I have two grandsons. The six year old will become a junior member at the gun club next year, and the 4 year old will be right behind him I hope! I was 8 when I walked into a store, and bought my first air gun, (you could do that back then because guns weren't 'evil') a Diana Model 2 .177 air pistol, for $4.25 and 50 years later, I still have it. ) Gun Haters Versus The Big Bang Theory Some folks just hate guns. They hate them worse than they hate red meat, bluegrass music and tubs of yogurt which refuse to sport a "fat free" label." They hate them worse than they hate neighborhoods which aren't gated and patrolled, those anachronistic wastelands free of zoning laws and aesthetic committees. They rail against the right to keep and bear arms because they long ago lost the desire or ability to care for themselves. After all, one afflicted by an anxiety attack at the sight of a full recycling bin or a leaking faucet can hardly be expected to understand self-reliance. The vast majority of gun-haters reside on the far left side of the ideological fence. Most are snobby elitists who feel it is the government's duty to wipe their noses, spray Bactine on their scraped knees and protect them from life itself. They can't tell you why they hate guns, except to say "guns are violent." Syndicated columnist Anna Quindlen should study these fonts of wisdom. Judging by her recent column in Newsweek magazine Quindlen wrote "if a hospital leaves a sponge in your mid-section, you can sue. If a car dealer sells you a clunker it hadn't properly inspected, you can sue." That's true, but the examples she cites involve work performed incorrectly or products which fail to live up to reasonable standards of operation. You can't hold a surgeon liable if you take it upon yourself to yank the stitches and poke around your small intestine with a butter knife. You can't sue a car manufacturer because your overly-hormonal son got Cindy Lou pregnant in the back seat of a defect-free vehicle. You can't sue Titlelist because you were beaned in the head with an errant golf ball. You can't sue K-Mart because people laughed at your ugly clothes. If a product works as promised, and if it is sold legally, neither the company that built it nor the firm that sold it should be held accountable for its abuse by the purchaser.(This would also be a big thing in Canada, if we had any big gun makers other than Para Ordinance left! How about suing left-wing newspapers for 'spreading fear' by reporting (and virtually always exaggerating) things like the sudden discovery of a "cache" of weapons or simply an "Arsenal" that might consist of a .22, a deer rifle, and a shotgun, in the home of a long time hunter or sports shooter! And, don't forget about the added comments from neighbours such as "His kids were nice, and he looked so normal!". Most of the problems with firearms in this country have been 'created' by the media, just to sell newspapers, or advertising. Canada has never had a 'real' gun problem, other than ones created / exaggerated by media while describing things such as a cache of high powered, semi-automatic revolvers, contained in a 'arsenal' discovered 'hidden' with-in a locked safe in the corner of a basement rec-room. All the while, trying to drive home 'their' point that all guns are evil, and how could someone possible 'get away' with having "that much firepower at their fingertips? Yes folks, ignorant paranoia is alive and well in the Canadian media too!) Mom describes cougar attack on son. JASPER, ALTA. - Wildlife officials in Jasper, Alta., are warning people to be extra cautious in backcountry areas and to watch for a wild cougar that attacked a child over the weekend near Jasper National Park. The animal knocked down five-year-old Chance Stepanick while his family was camping near the park. His father Rod and another man kicked the cougar and chased it away. Wendy Stepanick was inside her trailer when she heard her son scream. She ran outside to see him lying face-down on the ground, with the cougar attacking him. "No one can believe that he's OK," she said. "The two dads were instantly on the cat, just kicking it and kicking it and kicking it. They described it as kicking a post. It was just a solid mass of animal." Stepanick said the men kicked the cat about eight times before it finally got off the boy and ran away. Cougar attacks are rare, but they do happen, sometimes with tragic consequences. Two and a half years ago, a cougar killed a woman near Lake Minnewanka in Banff. People in local communities are questioning why wildlife officers only issued an alert on Tuesday and why they did nothing for three days to warn tourists about the attack. A department spokesperson, John Lear, says a formal public alert was not issued earlier because of the amount of red tape involved in getting news releases approved. The department advises that people encountering a wild cougar make a lot of noise and make themselves look as large as possible. (Perhaps it would be more effective, if they made themselves look as 'Armed' as possible! Folks in Ontario, are waiting for the inevitable black bear attack on a child before the Ontario Government decides to quit politicizing the over abundance of bears 'not' due to the cancellation of the spring hunt, and the resulting 4-7 'thousand' more bears every year, roaming the woods looking for food...whew long sentence... ) More on the U.S. "Assault Gun" Ban Vers. the Media. Regarding your editorial "Extend the ban," I'm curious about a few points. You state, "The assault weapons that fall under the banare for the efficient, aggressive killing of human beings. They are military weapons." Is that so? I own several of these so-called "assault weapons." Not one is a military weapon, since military weapons are capable of fully automatic fire. Therefore, military weapons are regulated by the National Firearms Act of 1934, and not by the Assault Weapons Ban. Further, not one of my firearms has ever been used to do anything except punch holes in paper targets, and thus none have ever taken part in the killing of anyone. So either you are lying to your readership, or your ignorance is showing. Which is it? You go on to say, "A surveyfound that 71 percent of Americans support the ban's extension" The implication is that if a majority of people favor it, then one's rights may be stripped away in order to make said majority "feel better." The fact is that our rights are not subject to the whims of any majority, and you should be thankful for that. Or hadn't you noticed that polls consistently rank journalists down there on the level with politicians, lawyers, used car salesmen, and child molesters on the trust scale? If our rights were subject to opinion polls, your First Amendment protections of press freedom would be down the toilet. Perhaps you ought to think about that before you start pushing opinion polls as a reason to take my rights away, eh? I could go on, but hopefully you get the point. The ban will go down. It has accomplished nothing other than to get a foot in the door for the eventual destruction of the Bill of Rights. If you don't understand that fact, that's OK. We do, and we'll take care of the rest. Dave Kopp Phoenix, Ariz.(Well Said Mr. Kopp.. The loss of 'anyone's' established, legal rights, by the opinion or vote of a simple majority, is an erosion of rights for everyone. In Canada, Bill C-68 is law that tramples on the rights of EVERYONE. Those Rights, will never be re-established until 'our' Liberals are gone. C-68 is very much like the 'inquisition' in the fact that it only takes a 'accusation' by someone {perhaps something as simple as a 'harsh letter to a Liberal McGuinty Politician } for the government police to invade your home, take your property, and throw you in jail for failing to relinquish those rights on demand. This can happen to anyone, whether you own a firearm or not. As has been said many times before: For a government, "Gun Control" is more about "Control" than Guns, and it always will be) Gun play with a message A NEW drama about the growing gun culture is to tour Liverpool communities. The play, The Trouble With Guns, has been written by Liverpool writer Robert Awork. "I wrote the play knowing that people I had known had suffered as a result of weapons," he says. "I wanted to try to pass the message on to try to dissuade more young people from going the same way." The play follows a spate of shootings in Liverpool. It is currently being developed by Homefront Productions, the performance wing of Shorefields Drama Group. It is expected to start touring from next month to youth and community groups as well as schools. It has also received financial backing from the Central Liverpool Primary Care Trust. A spokesperson for the Trust explained: "It has received money from our community chest grant scheme which supports health-related activities. "The play will provoke a lot of discussion among young people and there are other issues involved including stress and other things." The drama will highlight the tragic consequences for young people that can result from easy access to firearms amid the growing gun culture in English cities including Liverpool. A workshop will accompany the play.(Isn't it simply amazing the amount of 'progress' the U.K. gun control laws have spawned.. Why just 10 short years ago, there was no massive firearms ban, OR "Gun Culture" in Liverpool. It would seem that simply everyone that black-markets guns to the masses, has had a huge boost in their personal wealth thanks largely to the U.K.'s over zealous response to a single madman.. Now the country has a very large and, generally uncontrollable, "Gun Culture" Welcome to the 'New World Order'!) Q: How Many Liberals Does It Take To Screw In A Light Bulb? A: It doesn't matter because they'll still remain in the dark. Sound like a joke? Perhaps it is, but while conservatives may get a chuckle out of it, the basic truth underpinning those words is anything but funny. Just take the 2000 post-election tumult in Florida for example. Liberals still bring up the issue during debates and speeches, once they've run out other things to complain about. "Bush stole the election!" "Blacks were disenfranchised!" "The president was selected not elected!" "We didn't get to count all the votes!" Yadda yadda yadda... If there's one thing you can count on from leftists, it's that once they've been proved wrong about a particular issue, they'll arrogantly refuse to admit it and continue to flaunt their contempt for objectivity and sound judgment endlessly thereafter. Their inevitable reaction to being confronted with the accusation that their actions and words are indeed unreasonable, is to become even more unreasonable. Attempting to explain something to most liberals that the average twelve year old can understand with little effort is often a maddening prospect, primarily because they just don't seem to want to understand anything that non-liberals have to say. It's often been said that there's no such thing as a stupid question, but whoever thought up that expression obviously never met a devout liberal. Either that or he was a liberal himself.(Well, it looks like we have more in common with U.S. politics, than 'our' Liberals would care to admit. Not that they ever would, especialy when there so god damn wrong most of the time! ) Gun safety is loaded with history Much of this booming industry in weaponry was based in the Birmingham gun trade. Unfortunately, most of it was of extremely poor quality. Indeed, once an unscrupulous manufacturer had dispatched his consignment of muskets to some distant corner of the globe, he was not likely to feel concerned if he never heard again from the purchaser and, after pulling the trigger, many of them probably never survived to complain. A number of responsible Birmingham gunmakers however, expressed their concern at the lack of control over the trade and established their own private proof houses, similar to that which had existed in London since 1637. By 1813 this had developed into the Birmingham Proof House, established by Act of Parliament with the duty of proving firearms. It thus became, and still is today, an offence to sell or exchange any firearm that did not carry legitimate proof marks. The Gun Barrel Proof Act of 1813 was superseded in 1868 and although that Act of Parliament has in turn been much amended, it remains the foundation upon which the present work of the Birmingham Proof House rests.(Just an interesting article) Ban on assault weapons didn't reduce violence The assault-weapons ban is set to expire Sept. 13, and at least six bills reauthorizing it are pending in the Senate and House. The issue has sparked nationwide debate: The National Rifle Association has called the ban ineffective in curbing crime and a violation of the Second Amendment, while gun-control advocates have said the nation's streets will be filled with automatic weapons if the ban is not reauthorized. The assault-weapons ban imposed a 10-year moratorium on the "manufacture, transfer and possession" of certain semiautomatic firearms designated as assault weapons. It banned 18 models and variations by name, as well as revolving-cylinder shotguns, and prohibited flash hiders, folding rifle stocks and threaded barrels for attaching silencers. A number of the banned weapons were foreign semiautomatic rifles that have been barred from importation into the United States since 1989. The ban also prohibited most ammunition magazines holding more than 10 rounds. (Most so called "assault weapons" were banned because of one reason, and one reason only. They 'looked' dangerous.. Before the Loony Liberals in Canada started banning certain firearms without any proof whatsoever they were a problem, Prime minister "Kimmy" started the ball rolling, and 'looks' were the main theme in what was banned and what was not. Canadian tire used to sell a .22 that was a M16 look alike, only a lot lighter and smaller. It was banned, Not because it was any more dangerous than any 'other' .22, but because it 'looked' more dangerous that any other .22 . I needed a new shotgun, and if I was going to be forced to have the damn thing registered, I purposely went out and bought the ugliest, most politically incorrect gun I could find. A 12ga. Norinco tactical, 18" barrel, folding stock, pistol grip, air-cooled shroud, and ring/post sights.. soon to be fitted with a scope for deer hunting.. Screw em.. Ugly and dangerous 'looking' is definitely IN. Besides, it makes a great 'house/personal' defence gun) Ontario proposes ban on hunting penned prey The Ontario government plans to ban the hunting of animals that are fenced into pens the size of a couple of football fields to be shot by rich hunters, Natural Resources Minister David Ramsay said yesterday. "It's unethical. Basically the animal doesn't have a chance," Mr. Ramsay said in an interview. "I don't see the skill in it and I think it gives hunting a bad name." The ban would end hunts of exotic animals such as wild boar and non-native deer. The province prohibited the hunting of domestic animals inside pens six years ago. The proposed ban has won the support of two groups that are more often at odds than in agreement. The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters and the International Fund for Animal Welfare said ending the hunting of animals in captivity is long overdue. Ed Reid, a wildlife biologist at the hunters federation, said one fear is that the exotic animals in the pens can escape. Of particular concern is red deer from Europe, which are biologically close to elk, a species that the Ministry of Natural Resources is trying to re-establish in Ontario. "We have a big concern about red deer because they can interbreed with elk. A small number of red deer stags mixed with a small wild elk population, which is what we are trying to restore here in Ontario, could set back the elk population," he said.(A open pen the size of a couple of football fields IS unethical! However, 'contained' hunts that would cover a 'wooded' area over a hundred or more acres would be more of a 'hunt', with no guarantee some lazy assed sportsperson(?) simply looking for a wall mounting would be successful without some work being involved. After all, 'trophies' and the meat that goes with them, are 'earned' by slogging over rough terrain, in the animals own environment. Not walking into a field, herding them into a corner, then shooting the one you like best. Anyone that does this, and calls themselves a hunter, has serious identity problems, and perhaps should spend some time on a professional couch trying to find out 'why' they feel so inadequate!) ANNE McLELLAN STILL CAN’T PROVE GUN REGISTRY IS IMPROVING PUBLIC SAFETY Yorkton – Today, Garry Breitkreuz, Member of Parliament for Yorkton-Melville, released government documents that show the Liberal government’s billion-dollar investment in the gun registry has produced little in the way of public safety improvements. “Anne McLellan can spout a lot of statistics, but what good is all this activity and expense if it isn’t producing the results they promised?” asked Breitkreuz. “The question the Liberals cannot or will not answer is: What did 600,000 hits on the gun registration website do to make our lives safer? Only Liberals would regard a blizzard of bureaucratic buffoonery as evidence of doing something useful.” “How many of the charges laid with NWEST’s support were thrown out of court or how many accused were found not guilty? How many of the firearms seized with NWEST’s support had to be returned like the case out in Winnipeg last December where RCMP were forced to return 152 firearms to their lawful owners? How much time and money is NWEST wasting chasing gun owners that may be paper criminals but are no threat to public safety at all?” asked Breitkreuz. "Taxpayers have a right to know what they got for their billion dollars. Taxpayers have a right to know why the government is committed to spending another billion or two before the Auditor General will complete her value-for-money audit in 2005 or 2006. The Liberals have kept Parliament in the dark for far too long about their firearms follies. If they can’t prove the gun registry is working after ten years and more than a billion dollars spent, then the whole program should be scrapped,” concluded Breitkreuz.(Now, that they are a 'minority' government, come October they won't be able to 'completely' thumb their noses at taxpayers over this mess. Maby even the B.Q. might come to the realization that this farce is robbing Quebecers too, and it's about time to pull the plug.) Police want 25-cent surcharge on phone bills to fund wiretaps OTTAWA - The Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police wants every phone and internet customer in the country to pay a surcharge of 25 cents a month to help cover the cost of eavesdropping on criminals. The money would boost police coffers in the face of an increasing number of expensive court-approved wiretaps on drug suspects, money launderers and potential terrorists. Police are eager to use new technology to find and help convict wrongdoers, but they warn investigations will suffer if individual police forces are required to pay for telecommunications access and surveillance. "This is a very, very serious issue for us. It has a potential for really paralyzing operations," Supt. Tom Grue, a member of the association's law amendments committee, told the Canadian Press. (Well, yet another place for the billions wasted on a useless gun registry could go! Ahh but wasn't it the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police that supported that waste? Right now, the local departments have to fund their own snooping of your 'private' calls. If they are suddenly being funded by the Feds. ,via the CRTC, there will be no limit to the number of request to monitor 'your' line too! No thanks, I'm paying for enough bureaucratic waste as it is!!!) Yup!! It's Legal!! Lawyers 'Can' Screw You! WINNIPEG - Members of the Canadian Bar Association on Sunday voted against forbidding lawyers to have sex with clients. The Bar Association's annual conference in Winnipeg debated two separate resolutions. The first would have imposed a total ban on sexual relations between lawyers and clients. The other, more moderate, proposal, would have prohibited lawyers from having affairs with "vulnerable" clients, such as those involved in immigration, criminal and family law disputes. In the end, both motions were defeated. Lawyers at the conference said that sex with vulnerable clients was already prohibited under general rules about acting in a client's best interests, and acting objectively. "We could shoot ourselves in the foot pursuing something that makes us look like predators and our clients look like victims," argued another lawyer. (I thought the was just another 'Lawyer Joke' But then, no one really 'likes' Lawyer jokes anyway! Why? Mostly because Lawyers don't think there funny, and everyone else don't think there jokes!) Silencing Truth The Games have a history of pandering to the worst malefactors in the international “community,” to the point of absurdity. Today, it’s Islamic terrorists. Yesterday, it was the Nazis. In 1936, Jewish athletes were banned from the Games in deference to the Third Reich. American Jewish athletes, like late track star and New York sports announcer Marty Glickman and Sam Stoller, were pulled from the U.S. 400-meter relay team at the Berlin Olympics rather than embarrass Hitler if they won. A concentration camp was being built contemporaneously with the “Nazi Olympics.” Two days after the games, Capt. Wolfgang Fuerstner, a German army officer who built the Olympic village committed suicide. He was dismissed from the military for having Jewish blood, according to the Aug. 20, 1936 New York Times. American newspaper headlines, on display at Washington’s U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, showed the true “Olympic spirit”: “Olympics Leave Glow of Pride in the Reich.” Some things never change. Today the Games show the glow of Fatah, Islamic Jihad, Al-Qaida, and the butchers of the 1972 games. American athletes are warned against “exuberant” flag-waving and celebrations if they win medals. Syria--where Jamil Al-Gashey, the only surviving terrorist of the 1972 massacre, lives freely and under government protection--has an official Olympic delegation. The bloody games must go on. The left-wing, politically correct agenda pervades every aspect of the Games. Cuban athletes, like divers Arturo Miranda and Rio Ramirez, weren’t allowed to compete in the 2000 Atlanta Games for democratic countries (Canada and the U.S.) to which they defect to live free, because Cuba objected. Despite severe human rights abuses and slavery by Communist China, it was awarded the 2008 Summer Games, to the shameless praise of IOC members. In 2002, IOC President Jacques Rogge implored President Bush to declare a military truce with Afghanistan during the Winter Games, as if a sporting event is more important than rooting out terrorism. Despite featuring rifles in several Olympic sports and featuring official sponsors of products such as condoms, the IOC said it will never allow an official gun or rifle sponsor. The IOC says it wants to avoid politics. (shoooore it does... There's 'nothing' political about the Olympics is there? The IOC or "Lords of the Rings" have in the past been the first with their grubby paws out to make a fast buck, and the olympics, unfortunately today are nothing but a competitive, undetectable steroid competition.. I don't even bother watching them anymore!) Cruiser burglarized Shotgun, ammunition stolen from police car
RCMP change their story on issuance of warningIt's believed someone scaled the fence and broke into the cruiser via the driver's side window, which was partly open because of the alternator problem, he said. Cruisers are equipped with power windows, Clunis added. The culprit removed the unloaded shotgun, which was securely mounted between the two front seats. "Whoever did this actually spent some time literally moving it," Clunis said. Other than five shotgun shells, nothing else was missing from the cruiser. Under Winnipeg Police Service policy, the shotgun shouldn't have been left in the car while it was being serviced, Clunis said. "Normally, weapons are removed," he said, calling it an oversight. "Maybe it's something we can all learn from." It was unknown yesterday whether anyone will be reprimanded for the oversight. Clunis said it will be up to the police executive to decide if punishment is due. Officers with the Winnipeg police major crimes unit are investigating the theft. (Ohhh I see, not to worry, there's nothing wrong here, it was simply "an oversight" and "Maybe it's something we can all learn from".. Now, lets analyse what would happen to a 'ordinary' citizen who may have had a shotgun and ammunition stolen from, lets see, the 'trunk' of his car, where it would have no doubt been locked, and well out of sight of any would be thieves.. This 'ordinary' citizen would have PROMPTLY been arrested and charged, at the very minimum, with unsafe storage of a firearm, and unsafe storage of ammunition. His home would have been raided, ALL of his firearms would have been confiscated, and thousands of dollars in legal fees later, he would 'still' be trying to get his guns back from the Winnipeg Police. But, when it happens to the very people that we TRUST with firearms, it's"an oversight" and it's "unknown yesterday whether anyone will be reprimanded for the oversight" "Maybe it's something we can all learn from",. .. Did YOU learn anything here? I sure did..) Leslie Nielsen cast as Zeroman The actor is renowned for always having a whoopee cushion on hand, and much of his new show revolves around the superhero's posterior. Zeroman is a lactose-intolerant do-gooder who flies through the air powered by blasts from his rear end. Les Mutton, Zeroman's alter ego, transforms into the superhero by sitting on a technologically advanced toilet seat that scans his bottom. He then descends through a "poop chute" into a back alley, where he appears in costume. The hero's name comes not only from the fact that he is a bumbler like Frank Drebin, the detective Nielsen immortalized in the Naked Gun movies, but also his desire to eliminate crime completely. (This thinly disguised caricature of the 'real' Zero Man and his desire to eliminate crime completely, could be non other than Liberal Ottawa's own, Allan Rock...) Vernon, B.C. -- The RCMP now say privacy laws did not prevent them from warning people that a man on parole for murder had disappeared from a halfway house in Vernon. Eric Fish was eventually arrested and charged with murdering a 75-year-old man in a home invasion after vanishing from the halfway house June 21. Police didn't issue a public advisory about him until after the home invasion in which Bill Abramenko died. RCMP said initially that privacy laws prevented them from issuing the advisory earlier, but now Constable Heather MacDonald says that's not the case. She said she does not understand why an alert was not issued earlier. Corrections Canada is investigating the Vernon halfway house. (This poor 'unarmed' and defenceless man was tied to a chair and beaten to death by this waste of skin that was released to a halfway house after the crime of doing exactly the same thing to another person. Your home is your castle, there should be NO legal deterrent from protecting yourself, and your property from human waste such as this animal. You can shoot a mad dog or a bear forcing it's way into your home, and there is no reason what-so-ever that human garbage such as Eric Fish should be fleetingly given any more consideration before pulling a trigger. The family should be suing the RCMP for not releasing this information to the public. Forewarned, is forearmed. The Toronto Police have been successfully sued, after with-holding this type of information resulted in a woman being raped. Using a unsuspecting public as 'bait' to catch a known criminal is criminal in itself!) Alberta panel rejects 'firewall' The proposal, the report says, would not affect equalization payments to less-fortunate provinces, of which Alberta is a net contributor. The province sends Ottawa $9-billion more than it receives back in services or transfers. The report says the federal gun registry, and Ottawa's attempt to foist a one-size-fits-all program on a diverse country "frustrates Albertans and feeds federal-provincial acrimony." It recommends the province continue to press Ottawa to dismantle the registry.(It completely boggles the mind to try and understand why the Liberals think this useless, inefficient, incomplete, wildly expensive list of far less than 50% of all the long guns and their owners in this country, could be of 'any' use in controlling crime. Watching them blithely push on, trying to convince themselves, and the ignorant urban masses that 'guns' are the problem, and 'not' the criminals that use them. If they could only get rid of the evil gun, then criminals would no longer be shooting people, but rather incorporating the 'more' politically correct knife, or even baseball bat. Why perhaps they could even convince them to turn in the 'black market' $1000.00 glock some police force lost in transit, give up the very lucrative drug trade, and go get a McJob... Why I can even hear the birds singing in the background as we end this 'Disney' look at reality...) Ouellet just carrying on commonplace Liberal practices Andre Ouellet, the president of Canada Post, was paid more than $2 million over his term for expenses -- without providing receipts. To Revenue Canada, unreceipted expenses have a name: They're salary. Ouellet helped himself to a raise of $2 million on top of his paycheque. No doubt, some of those expenses were legitimate, maybe even most of them. But the fact they were unreceipted, and that his board of directors, also political appointees, rubber-stamped this practice, speaks to a problem larger than one man taking advantage. It's about an entire political system corrupt and arrogant to the bone. That is, "good government," Liberal-style.(Nothing, but nothing, will change until this government has been ousted. And THAT won't happen until Ontario voters grow a backbone. Until then? Expect to be ripped off on a regular basis. Why? Because taxpayers are nothing but Liberal 'funding units') He who holds the gun gains the `respect' In the world of Toronto's police officers and crown prosecutors there are many famous stories the public never hears. The public never hears them because the officers and prosecutors are afraid that if the stories get out they will never live them down.Among the many stories, there is one that is the most famous by far. It is the one the police and crown attorneys have gone to the greatest lengths to keep to themselves. It involves a highly respected detective inspector and a highly respected crown prosecutor, possibly the most highly respected police officer and crown in the history of the city.Today the time has come to tell it.It's safe to say that the individuals involved will deny every word that you are about to read. But the public's right to know is more important than the reputations of two public servants, no matter how distinguished they are. I will, however, withhold their names — not to protect them, but in the interests of my own safety. To put it in context, I'll begin with a report broadcast the other night by CBC radio's The World At Six.The Canada Firearms Centre — the so-called "gun registry" — is about to compile the first ever national database of police firearms.(Other than the asinine aspects of this little story, some cops are every bit as stupid as some civilians, the only difference is their 'legally' armed, dangerous, and 'some' think their so much 'better' than 'you'..) All animals have a natural right of self defense. In today’s society guns are the best method for individuals to protect themselves. Dr. John Lott, Jr. and Dr. Gary Kleck have published numerous studies showing that guns are used for defensive purposes over two million times per year. That’s two million rapes, robberies, murders, car jackings, assaults, etc. that did not happen thanks to the freedom of private gun ownership. Australia, Canada, and Great Britain have all had massive increases in violent crime since they implemented gun confiscation in the past 10 years. Our freedom to keep and bear arms protects us, through gun control the Left wants to destroy our security along with our freedom.(Even though our Canadian Bleeding Heart Liberal Government abhors it, Self Defence is 'still' legal in this country. Recently the owner of a Toronto clothing store who bashed in the head of a would be attacker and thief, was informed that he would not be charged "because there was no reasonable chance of conviction" YOUR GOD DAMN RIGHT THERE WASN'T.. Even though, the cops tried as hard as they could to charge the 'victim' with the death of the thieving attacker, "there was no reasonable chance of conviction" To NOT 'lethally' defend your self in an life and death attack is to say the criminal's life is more valuable, and important than yours, or your loved ones. I, and anyone else that has the means and will to defend themselves will never make that assumption. The only conviction, should be the personal conviction that the the body in the body bag is not yours, or that of a loved one. Unlock, Load, Dial 911, IN THAT ORDER!) INFORMATION COMMISSIONER CONFIRMS JULY 21, 2004: INFORMATION COMMISSIONER’S FINDINGS Mass Destruction in Small Packages The AK-47, the M-16 and other so-called "small arms" are responsible for the deaths of half a million people each year. About 300,000 people – mostly civilians – are killed in wars, coups d'etat and other armed conflicts each year by small arms. Another 200,000 people are killed each year in homicides, suicides, unintentional shootings and shootings by law enforcement officers using these weapons. In addition to those killed, an estimated 1.5 million people are wounded by small arms annually. If we take into account their cumulative impact, small arms are truly weapons of mass destruction. These lethal weapons are cheap, portable and easily concealed, making them ideal weapons for terrorists. They are hard to destroy and so simple to operate that even an eight-year old can carry and use them. In all, the global small arms stockpile is estimated at 639 million guns. Almost 60 percent of this arsenal is in the hands of civilians – over 377 million weapons. State-controlled military forces, police, insurgents and other militias own the remainder. This month, organizations from around the world are uniting under the umbrella of the International Action Network Against Small Arms to draw attention to human toll of small arms proliferation and misuse. Rather than handing out more guns in the name of fighting terrorism, the United States and other major powers need to put their citizens' security first.(Oh , I see! If the United States disarms their citizens this will 'increase' their security? What dream world do these people think their living in? Using the figures above, 2,000,000 people killed and/or injured annually by 639,000,000 small arms = only 0.31% (Zero point three one percent) of small arms kill or injure someone annually. Which also means of course, that the VAST Majority of 637,019,100 or 99.969% (ninety nine point nine six nine percent) of guns injured or killed no one during the same period! The simple fact that 60% of these guns are in the hands of civilians, should cause this group of 'do-gooders' to get down on their knees, and thank God, Christ, Alla, Buddha, who-ever, that they are in the hands of civilians.. There is NOTHING more prominent in world history as the proof, that people do far worse when only their governments have guns.. Small arms SAVE far more lives on this planet then they take, and the only way to upset this balance is to disarm the public. Remember, the ONLY ones that 'will' be disarmed by any group, will be the ones least likely to do harm in the first place. If someone attacks me, or a family member, I would much rather go down fighting than whimpering, 'unarmed', wishing I had a way to defend my children from being raped and murdered. If any these gun grabbing clowns had two neurones to rub together, they would come to the realization that if all the guns in the world were instantly dissolved, the bad guys would still be attacking you with rocks and sticks, and you would be just as dead. Nothing in history has ever proved anything different! The sad part about disarmament groups like this, is their own figures always betray them for the paranoid group of misfits they really are. Their sole reason for existence is to gather government funds, increase their 'personal' profiles, and promote the 'grief industry', while all the time, trying to convince the general public that their not just a bunch of useless assholes that think self defence means having someone 'else' pull a trigger in proxy. The imbalance of people killed in certain areas of the world, is truly a tragedy, but disarming ordinary, law abiding citizens, and in most cases, thereby making them victims of their own governments, makes no sense what-so-ever. Defencelessness does not make you safer, and only a fool would believe that it does.) |
