Liberal Thinking: The few people who can't use martial arts or other non-lethal means of self-defense--the young, the old, the infirm, the disabled, the weak, the small, and the pregnant--are simply the necessary sacrifice we must make to criminals, to avoid the risks of letting people be armed. Here's what THOSE Officers say about this Gun Registry Farce

I will be on Vacation until August the 9th. Regular updates will resume at that time
Strong Tories can be effective oppositionIn the mean time. Please use the links below to keep updated here, and in the U.S.A. Have a GREAT Summer... Mass Destruction in Small Packages
The AK-47, the M-16 and other so-called "small arms" are responsible for the deaths of half a million people each year. About 300,000 people – mostly civilians – are killed in wars, coups d'etat and other armed conflicts each year by small arms. Another 200,000 people are killed each year in homicides, suicides, unintentional shootings and shootings by law enforcement officers using these weapons. In addition to those killed, an estimated 1.5 million people are wounded by small arms annually. If we take into account their cumulative impact, small arms are truly weapons of mass destruction. These lethal weapons are cheap, portable and easily concealed, making them ideal weapons for terrorists. They are hard to destroy and so simple to operate that even an eight-year old can carry and use them. In all, the global small arms stockpile is estimated at 639 million guns. Almost 60 percent of this arsenal is in the hands of civilians – over 377 million weapons. State-controlled military forces, police, insurgents and other militias own the remainder. This month, organizations from around the world are uniting under the umbrella of the International Action Network Against Small Arms to draw attention to human toll of small arms proliferation and misuse. Rather than handing out more guns in the name of fighting terrorism, the United States and other major powers need to put their citizens' security first.(Oh , I see! If the United States disarms their citizens this will 'increase' their security? What dream world do these people think their living in? Using the figures above, 2,000,000 people killed and/or injured annually by 639,000,000 small arms = only 0.31% (Zero point three one percent) of small arms kill or injure someone annually. Which also means of course, that the VAST Majority of 637,019,100 or 99.969% (ninety nine point nine six nine percent) of guns injured or killed no one during the same period! The simple fact that 60% of these guns are in the hands of civilians, should cause this group of 'do-gooders' to get down on their knees, and thank God, Christ, Alla, Buddha, who-ever, that they are in the hands of civilians.. There is NOTHING more prominent in world history as the proof, that people do far worse when only their governments have guns.. Small arms SAVE far more lives on this planet then they take, and the only way to upset this balance is to disarm the public. Remember, the ONLY ones that 'will' be disarmed by any group, will be the ones least likely to do harm in the first place. If someone attacks me, or a family member, I would much rather go down fighting than whimpering, 'unarmed', wishing I had a way to defend my children from being raped and murdered. If any these gun grabbing clowns had two neurones to rub together, they would come to the realization that if all the guns in the world were instantly dissolved, the bad guys would still be attacking you with rocks and sticks, and you would be just as dead. Nothing in history has ever proved anything different! The sad part about disarmament groups like this, is their own figures always betray them for the paranoid group of misfits they really are. Their sole reason for existence is to gather government funds, increase their 'personal' profiles, and promote the 'grief industry', while all the time, trying to convince the general public that their not just a bunch of useless assholes that think self defence means having someone 'else' pull a trigger in proxy. The imbalance of people killed in certain areas of the world, is truly a tragedy, but disarming ordinary, law abiding citizens, and in most cases, thereby making them victims of their own governments, makes no sense what-so-ever. Defencelessness does not make you safer, and only a fool would believe that it does.) Harper to unveil Conservative shadow cabinet Following up on Prime Minister Paul Martin's elaborate cabinet unveiling, Conservative Party Leader Stephen Harper will reveal the shadow cabinet he hopes can steal the spotlight from a Liberal minority. Former deputy Peter MacKay and House Leader John Reynolds are both expected to be renamed to their post when Harper makes his announcement in Ottawa on Thursday. At the same time, Harper is expected to punish outspoken MPs who sparked unwanted controversy with comments on abortion and gay rights during the election campaign by relegating them to the backbenches.(MP's who make stupid, unsupported statements deserve to be pushed to the back of the room until they prove their 'smart' enough to be reliable. Now, if we can only get Ralph to shut up during the next election, Harper will win hands down!) NEW THEORY ON BLACK HOLES A 30-year-old scientific theory about black holes has been turned inside out by Professor Stephen Hawking. Prof Hawking, one of the world's leading scientists, has solved the riddle of how black holes not only suck matter in like a giant vacuum in space but also release it. Scientists were for years baffled by the holes which they believed were bottomless pits in space into which matter and energy would fall, vanishing forever.(From what I understand, there is a new scientific symbol for the Black Hole ![]() An improved Cabinet(?) Among the returning ministers, there are a few trouble spots as well. While Mr. Graham is competent enough to merit some form of renewed role, the touchy-feely instincts he exhibited in his former incarnation suggest he will have little enthusiasm for rebuilding Canada's tattered military as Defence Minister. Likewise, keeping Anne McLellan as Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, given her mediocre performance in this portfolio to date and her continued responsibility for a federal gun registry that was botched largely under her watch, is inadvisable. Better to have moved Ms. McLellan to some other senior role.(Seeing that Martin is keeping Annie 'got yer gun' McLellan in charge of the gun registry fiasco, only assures the public that the incredible waste will continue to be the financial black hole it's always been. Even though 76.7% of Canadians want it scrapped, Liberal arrogance 'still' says they know better than you so shut up and and don't rock the Titanic!) Separatist to bear Canada's flag in Athens Nicolas Gill, 32, is a Montreal native and will be competing in his fourth Olympics. He is a two-time judo medalist at the games, winning a bronze in 1992 and a silver in 2000. He has also earned three medals at the world championships. Gill told the newspaper in 1995 he voted for Quebec's separation from Canada and feels "more like a Quebecer than I do a Canadian." "I don't really compete for Canada," Gill told the newspaper, "I compete for myself." A five-person panel Monday elected Gill to lead the Canadian delegation into the olympic stadium.(And of course, in their infinite 'wizdum' this is the perfect man to carry the Canadian flag in a world class representation of our dysfunctional political system.. As for the people that were worried that the last election would change anything, sit back, relax, Quebec 'still' takes precedence over ANYTHING else.. Just shut the F.... up and pay your taxes.) Harper staying put as Tory leader Federal Conservative Leader Stephen Harper made it official Monday that he's staying put as Conservative leader. In a letter to the Conservative party, Harper says he intends to lead the party through the next federal election. "I have detected no body of opinion in the caucus, in the party, or in the public at large that would seem to favour a leadership change at this time," Harper said Monday in a letter to Conservative president Don Plett. "There is a consensus that our party has made rapid progress in a short period of time and has the capacity to make even more over the coming months," said Harper. "I want to lead that effort."(Stephen Harper is not only a bright young man, he is also 'scandal free'! If there was any 'real dirt' to dig up on Harper, the scumbags of the Liberal Party would have brought it right to the forefront. As it was, the only thing they could do was to highlight a few stupid, and or out of contexts 'sound bites' from other conservative MP's. Stephen IS the man for the job, and would make a damn fine Prime Minister. Far better than a millionaire, ship owning, Quebec Lawyer, who avoids Canadian taxes by refusing to even register his ships in this country! You on the other hand, are paying the highest taxes of any member of the G-8! Thanks Paul, don't you think it's time YOU paid your fair share?) WHAT'S GOING ON HERE? The number of violent home invasion crimes has increased by 24 per cent. That happened, even though the number of young males (who commit 70 per cent of all crime) has decreased, and almost all other types of crime have decreased. That bad effect was predicted when C-68 was just proposing to force all citizens to lock up their firearms separately from any ammunition. Now the current laws provide a guarantee -- to the criminals -- that no honest citizen has access to a firearm when the home invader crashes into his or her home. It is particularly irritating that home invasion crimes are targeting the elderly. That is happening because the criminal does not want to confront a resident who is as young and strong as the criminal. Surely, that is obvious? People 60 and over were the victims in 15 per cent of all robberies in the home, and that means that they were victims of home robberies about 4 times more often than they were victims of other crimes. Don't worry, Paul A
near election disaster, a looming judicial inquiry into Adscam, low
morale in the public service ... yet the PM just keeps on smiling
Federal mandarins never seem to resign because of such breakdowns, and
rarely have been fired for them. Surely
one should take the cue from the multitude of goofs (like the gun
control fiasco or refugee board chicanery) that quality of officialdom
runs from low to ordinary. Nonetheless, this apparent contempt of the
permanent officials for the aims, ethics and diligence of Martin &
Co. is a warning. A
confused and confusing prime minister, cabinet and caucus are likelier
to blunder into another election within a few months of Parliament
convening than to govern clearly and solidly for several years. (I
think a 'spring' election in in the offing... That way, ALL Canadians
get to go Turkey hunting this spring, not just the ones in Southern
Ontario.. We got rid of 33 Liberal Turkeys the last time, This spring
will will no doubt result in a bountiful harvest..)
Elections Canada to charge Moore
Flying while Arab WHEN POLITICAL correctness got going in the Eighties, the laconic wing of the conservative movement was inclined to be relaxed about it. To be sure, the tendency of previously pithy identity labels to become ever more polysyllabically ornate (“person of colour”, “Native American”) was time consuming, but otherwise PC was surely harmless. Some distinguished persons of non-colour, among them Sir Peregrine Worsthorne, even argued that conservatives should support political correctness as merely the contemporary version of old-fashioned courtliness and good manners. Alas, after September 11th, this position seems no longer tenable. Instead, we have to ask a more basic question: Does political correctness kill? Well, here’s an easy experiment any reader can perform while waiting to board at Newark or LaGuardia. 15 of the 19 hijackers were young Saudi males, Osama himself is (was) a youngish Saudi male, and some 80 per cent of all those folks captured in Afghanistan and carted off to Guantanamo turn out to be young Saudi males (though, out of the usual deference to our Saudi friends, the Administration is keeping studiously quiet on the last point). So you’re at Newark standing in line behind a young Saudi male and an 87-year old arthritic nun from Des Moines. Who’ll be asked to remove his or her shoes? Six out of ten times, it’ll be the nun. Three out of ten times, you. One out of ten, Abdumb al-Dumber. Even if this is just for show, what it’s showing is profound official faintheartedness.Norm Mineta, the Transportation Secretary, is insistent that fairness demands the burden of inconvenience be spread among all ethnic and age groups. “Any specificity as to particular persons” is strictly forbidden. Meanwhile, his colleagues have spent the last three weeks assuring us that another catastrophe is now inevitable. “There will be another terrorist attack,” Robert Mueller told the National Association of District Attorneys the other day. “We will not be able to stop it.”(Police have many problems. When everyone shooting at you is a young black male for example, you have a tendency to beware of young black males. Like Pavlov's dog, you become conditioned to expect the expected! Liberals in general, have no problem lumping law abiding firearm owners in with criminals and rapists simply because they own a firearm, but if you have small knife in your pocket your not grouped with the majority of criminals that kill or injure their victims with knives! If you own a car, and take a drink every so often, does 'this' alone make you a drunk driver just waiting for your chance to flatten 8 people at a bus shelter? Where do you draw the line? There is no harm in appropriate 'reasonable' investigation. If I were standing on a 'city' street corner with a rifle slung over my shoulder, I would 'expect' the cops to check me out, ask questions, etc.. It's only common sense. The problem is, political correctness is getting in the way of 'common sense', and this makes no sense whatsoever!) Elections Canada will lay charges against shockumentary filmmaker Michael Moore. Officially, Elections Canada will neither confirm nor deny plans to lay formal charges against Moore. However, Canadafreepress.com has learned through sources that charges are imminent and expected by the end of next week. Nejatian, however is being realistic. While he doesn’t expect Pooh-Bah Moore to spend a single night in the slammer, he is anticipating that such a charge would all but bar the Michigan-native film maker from ever entering Canada again, a point he sees as a bonus as bright as any star. Encouraged by the amount of public support his online petition has found, Nejatian says he’s hoping that even more Canadians will log on at www.chargeMoore .com to sign up. "There’s no excuse for a foreign socialist millionaire to show up in our country and try to spread his propaganda," he said.(If memory serves me right, Ralph Nader also encouraged Canadians not to vote conservative. Both should be banned from Canada. both should do jail time, not just the fat stupid one, but the skinny old one one too) Gun Control: The Brady Campaign, White Lies, and Damn Lies In his book ''The Bias Against Guns,'' John Lott examines the relationship between gun availability and multiple murders. He concludes: ''If right-to-carry laws allow citizens to limit the amount of attacks that still take place, the number of persons harmed should fall relative to the number of shootings… And indeed, that is what we find. The average number of people dying or becoming injured per attack declines by around 50 percent…'' (3) Dr. Lott also finds that both the total number and rate of multiple murders in right-to-carry states are 1/3 that of restrictive states. (4) In an e-mail interview, Dr. Lott clarified by stating ''the simplest numbers showed a 67 percent drop in the number of attacks and about a 79 percent drop in the number of people killed or injured from such attacks. The number of people harmed fell by more than the number of attacks because some attacks that weren't deterred were stopped in progress by people with guns.'' One could conclude that the best way to limit multiple murders is not to disarm, but to arm responsible, law-abiding citizens.(In the 'ideal' liberal world, no one would have firearms, not the people, not the criminal, not the government(? yea I sure 'that's' gonna happen') Unfortunately when only the government is armed, the people eventually become slaves/subjects and history has proven this time and time again.. The liberal plan only disarms 'half' of the people. That half are the people that can be trusted with firearms. The half that does not get disarmed? well, that half, is the half that would then have the freedom to rape, rob, and brutalize at will.. There is not one single instance of a population being disarmed, that did not come to grief, either at the hands of it's own government, or the hands of criminals as we now see demonstrated by the soaring crime rate in the U.K. Disarming me does not make me safer, it makes me vulnerable. Disarming me does not make my family safer, it makes them vulnerable. Disarming me does not make you safer, it makes you stupid, 'and' vulnerable) Biased reports on gun control We all remember the horror of the rash of school shootings that happened several years ago. Places like Columbine, Edinboro, Pennsylvania, Pearl, Mississippi and the University of Virginia became household names and gun control buzz words. Each incident garnered media attention and brought cries for stricter laws. The only problem with the reporting is that some very important facts were left out. Of these four incidents, three were stopped by armed bystanders. The Edinboro incident was stopped by a person with a shotgun. The Pearl, Mississippi incident was stopped when the assistant principal retrieved his gun from his truck and stopped the killer. As for the Virginia incident, that was concluded when two students brandished their own guns and forced the killer to drop his. Now, did you hear any of this on Nightline, 60 Minutes, The Today Show or any other purported "news" show? Nope. The only mention of outside involvement was stuff like "the shooter was subdued by others" or "the shooter was tackled by other students." Have you noticed that the national media never runs a story about how a gun saves lives or stops crime? Stories like a 12-year-old girl who shot and killed her mother's attacker; or an older gentleman who held an intruder at bay until police could arrive at his house; or a lone female who scares away a would-be robber/rapist by pulling her gun. Why do these stories cease to appear in the news? The next time you hear a story about another multiple shooting, or an ad advocating even more restrictions on gun owners, remember that you are being deliberately misled. You need to ask why. Why are these people willing to lie and misrepresent themselves to remove guns from law abiding citizens?(In Canada, if only 1 life was saved for every 40th time a firearm was used in self-defence against animals, four legged, or two legged, more lives would be saved than taken by all acts of violence. Firearms ARE a net benefit to society. and there are proven studies to back this up. Only the ignorant, stubborn, stupid, and paranoid, or those with a financial gain to be made from disarming the law abiding, refuse to listen and investigate) Hey Paul, are you listening? The Liberal minority mantra shining through as the Canadian election dust settled in 2004 was, “The voters have sent us a strong, clear message.” Yeah, we did Paul, but my bet is that you still didn’t get it. So here it is, one more time, in a personal letter. Dear PM Paul: Now that Parliament is closed for the summer you may get a chance to sit on the dock at Harrington Lake and check out The Community Press web site at www.communitypress-online.com and consider the message I have been trying to send to you via my last two editorials. Last week’s, titled Electronic Democracy, concluded with a sample referendum on your obscenely expensive attempt to register every farmer’s 22 groundhog-control-rifle in Canada. Herein I offer you the results of this informal electronic referendum as I promised our readers I would last week. First of all, you should know that every response we received was adamant that your government should stop the ill-conceived, ineptly administered attempt to register law-abiding Canadian citizens’ guns. (It's not that he 'can't' hear you, it's that he 'won't' hear you.. You can always 'tell' a liberal, but you can't tell them much! After all, they know so much better than you, about what's good for you. Now, their even proposing stricter regulations for all sports shooters that reload their own ammo. These regulations will not only tell you how much powder supply 'they' feel you need, but will also completely eliminate hand loading in any urban area. Why? Because these 'new' regulations will solve another very serious problem that does not exist. Much like the gun registry itself. These are the very same assholes that think a drunk, slamming his car into a crowded bus shelter, is a drunk driving 'accident'. Drunks in Cars are NOT accidents, but FELONS that SHOULD be Locked up. No Second Chance. But wait a minute.. If someone has a occasional drink, and also owns a car, using the logic of the CFC, their ALL potential drunk drivers and should be viewed with the same suspicion as they view hunters and target shooters.. Ahh but THAT would affect THEM now wouldn't it? Even though, drunks in cars are responsible for hundreds of times more deaths than the sport of hunting or target shooting, which only very, very, rarely results in an injury to anyone! The Liberals still seem to feel this is MORE socially acceptable than ..gasp... owning a firearm! This is how screwed up their priorities really are.) So Much for Paul Martins Defence of Whistle Blowers: Ottawa fires dissident scientists Ottawa — Health Canada has fired three well-known scientists who have become regular public critics of department policies, including the use of growth hormone in animals. The three received termination notices yesterday morning, said Steve Hindle, president of the Professional Institute of the Public Service. He said he believes the firings were probably linked to the scientists' history of speaking out against the department. “First reaction has to be that this is retribution for the whistle-blowing that they've done,” Mr. Hindle said. The three, Shiv Chopra, Margaret Haydon and Gerard Lambert, will appeal the ruling, he added.“They'll be filing grievances over the termination, and we will be representing them.” Mr. Hindle said it's not clear whether so-called whistleblower legislation that died in the House of Commons before the recent election was called would have helped the three. He did say the proposed law had a provision that discipline could not be meted out to a whistle-blower if it was viewed as retribution. A Health Canada spokesman said the three were not let go for their public utterances.(Of course they weren't, they were all suspected of urinating in a public water fountain! It's all a big coincidence.. Speaking out against a Liberal Government will never get you fired, harassed, arrested, jailed, or home invaded! Just ask all the people that have been fired, harassed, arrested, jailed, and home invaded, at approximately the same time they criticized the government. Or, simply uncovered a bit of embarrassing dirt since this bunch took office 11 years ago, under the 'other' dictator! I see things are now progressing along the same lines... How's that Whistle blower legislation promise coming there Paul?) Filmmaker Moore targeted over election remarks The mayor of Sarnia is willing to make U.S. filmmaker Michael Moore an honorary citizen of his city to help him beat a possible Election Act charge. "It's no different than giving someone a key to a city," Bradley told The Canadian Press. Bradley made an appearance in Moore's Academy-Award winning documentary film about U.S. gun culture, Bowling for Columbine. "It seems to me this is a bittersweet reaction to the loss of the Conservative Party so they're hitting out at people they see as the enemy." Moore has drawn the fire of Queen's University student Kasra Nejatian, who is also president of Ontario's Campus Conservatives. He feels Moore broke Section 331 of the Canada Elections Act by urging people not to vote for Conservative Leader Stephen Harper during this summer's federal election. That law makes it an offence to "in any way induce electors to vote or refrain from voting for a particular candidate unless the person is a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident." In an interview with Ben Mulroney of CTV's etalk Daily while promoting his new film Fahrenheit 9/11 during a mid-June visit to Toronto, Moore said: "This guy (Harper) wants to take a big pair scissors and snip away your social safety net in a far greater way than what your dad was up to." Mulroney's father, Brian, was the Progressive Conservative prime minister from 1984 to 1993. In a June 23 interview with journalists, Moore said: "What I hope that Canadians will get out of this is to get people out to the polls to make sure Mr. Harper does not become your next prime minister." Asked why, he said, "Because we're trying to get rid of our conservatives." (Moore will no doubt plead 'ignorance & stupidity'. And, why not! His "Documentaries(?)" show he has a proven track record of ignorance & stupidity! At least if he's charged, it should keep him out of Canada. We have enough 'over the top' liberal assholes up here as it is! The 'mayor' of Sarnia is a good representation of that! As for making Moore a 'honorary citizen' to beat the charges, he would also have to make a 'time machine' because Moore was not an honorary 'anything' when everyone just 'thought' he was an asshole. Then, he opened his big fat mouth and removed all doubt!) Mclellan Sucks Up To Klein Deputy Prime Minister Anne McLellan appears to be holding out an olive branch to Premier Ralph Klein. Klein says he received a phone call from the Edmonton Liberal MP yesterday asking what western Canadian concerns she could take to the cabinet table(?????). The report from Alberta's so-called ``firewall committee'' outlines western irritants such as the gun registry and the Kyoto accord. It also discusses the province possibly setting up its own pension plan and police force. (Oh I'm sure this is going to go somewhere! The Liberals never even listened to their own advisors about the gun registry. For McLellan to call Klein and basically ask what the problems are, is stupid to then Nth degree.. If she does not know what the problems are by now, she is either horribly incompetent, or simply just too stupid to do the job! I'm sure the phone call was pleasant, but how long to you have to talk to a wall before you realize there it NOT going to be any useful response?) U.S. Steers Consumers Away From IE PROOF: Kyoto Accord Based on JUNK SCIENCE The NCPA report cites findings from five independent research groups that have uncovered serious problems with Mann and Jones' methodology and calculations, which call into question any of its conclusions. For example: Several researchers found Mann and Jones made errors in the collection and use of varying data from multiple sources, used obsolete data, made incorrect calculations, associated data sets with incorrect geographical locations, inappropriately eliminated specific proxy records that they felt were inaccurate and employed statistical methods that removed long time period trends, such as the widely recognized Medieval Warm Period (about A.D. 800 to 1400) and the Little Ice Age (A.D. 1600 to 1850). Mann published a retraction in the June 2004 issue of Geophysical Research, in which he admits underestimating the temperature variations indicated by the proxy data by more than one-third since 1400, which accounts for why he missed the Little Ice Age. Strangely, Mann still argues this considerable error doesn't impact his conclusions. Further, Legates found the "blade" (or sudden rise in temperature) of Mann's hockey stick could not be reproduced using common statistical techniques, or even employing the same techniques as Mann and Jones. "Mann's claims that human's have caused tremendous warming over the last 100 years and that the 1990s were the warmest decade are untenable," said Legates. "Looking at the data, the global warming scare appears to be merely 'Mann made' junk science."(Other than assuring a huge price drop in high sulphur coal, to be bought up and sold to the Chinese by organizations such as 'Power Corp.' (To which virtually everyone at the top of the liberal party has ties), the benefits of Kyoto are ZERO to ordinary people. It's ALL about continuing profits, the incessant mantra of the 'New World Order'. Concerted Local efforts to reduce emissions in cities where they are having a negative effect on peoples health are of far greater value than 'another pie-in-the-sky', liberal feel good drain on the economy. Local efforts would result in a faster organization of new industry created to solve problems and build equipment to combat pollution on a case by case basis. Nothing will suck up money with no results, faster than a gaggle of politicians all desperately 'trying' to out do each other, while all the time, their pet bureaucrats are building up their own little kingdoms. A perfect example of this type of bureaucracy run wild, is the Canadian Gun Registry. Do you 'really want to see this scale of incompetence on a world wide level? A Challenge: Name ONE successful organization controlled by politicians, and run by bureaucrats, that actually produces results, while being cost effective? I rest my case!) Public service still waiting for Martin's agenda It turned out Mr. Martin thought less about ideas and more about mechanics. Mr. Alcock traumatized the mandarinate, ordering program reviews here and reorganizations there. Departments were restructured or recreated, with attendant chaos. Some of that chaos was creative -- the federal bureaucracy needs to be streamlined -- but chaos is still chaos. Then the sponsorship scandal broke, delaying the election and forcing the bureaucracy to sit around while the electorate decided who should be in government. Now, senior managers are preparing to implement the Liberal election platform, and some have concluded that the federal bureaucracy will play only a minor role. Mr. Martin has promised to reduce waiting lists for crucial medical services. He won't. At best, he will give provincial governments the money they need to fix their own health-care systems. He has promised to renew the stressed urban infrastructure. He won't. At best, he will transfer a portion of gas-tax revenue to cities so they can fix their own infrastructure. In one field after another, the feds are simply continuing the process of vacuuming up money and transferring it back to the jurisdictions that have the responsibility for running things. In the spheres of unquestioned federal power -- foreign affairs, defence and criminal law -- study follows study.(Nothing, but nothing will be Martins accomplishments in this impotent government. Which means one thing to all Canadians. The Liberals can no longer screw you with impunity. We're simply waiting for all their coffers to be refilled, so that we can finally continue with this election.) International Gun Destruction Day marked across the world July 9th:"Gun Destruction Day is a time when ordinary people across the world take positive action to tackle the gun problem head on. But with ten new guns produced for every one destroyed, ordinary people's efforts are being undermined by governments' refusal to act - a case of one-step forward ten steps back. Without an international Arms Trade Treaty, local efforts to address the problem will continue to be sabotaged by government inaction and guns will continue to get into the wrong hands" said Barbara Stocking, Director of Oxfam. "Every day millions of men, women, and children live in fear of armed violence. The proliferation of unregulated guns not only jeopardizes people's fundamental right to life, but also denies millions the right to a decent standard of living, health services and education. The global trade in arms must be brought under control," said Irene Khan, Secretary General of Amnesty International.(Well Son-of-a-Bitch.. I missed it...Looks like 'ol betsy' is safe for another year.. Perhaps if those "millions of men, women, and children that live in fear of armed violence" were themselves armed, they would not have to live in fear. They live in fear because they feel helpless! why do they feel helpless? Because the authorities that keep them defenceless do not have the means, or the desire to protect them. Perpetual fear is guaranteed to keep the peasants under control, and the governments in command. Even in Canada, the police do not 'have' to even show up for a 911 call. The government does its very best to keep you defenceless, and basically ignores your constitutional RIGHT to security of the 'person'. The police have no mandate to protect your personal ass, and the government will do all it can to prevent you from obtaining the means to do it yourself.. Welcome to the 'New World Order') Stephen Harper's next move Last week, Stephen Harper delivered two pieces of encouraging news at the Conservatives' first post-election caucus meeting. First, he will likely stay on as leader -- a welcome decision following his strong campaign effort and the exemplary work to unite the right that preceded it. And second, he intends to soften the party's edges by giving former Progressive Conservatives a bigger role and shifting the party a little closer to the centre. But Mr. Harper, himself firmly on the right, is unlikely to reposition the Conservatives as a collection of bland centrists. Rather, we suspect he's merely talking about shaving off some of the party's remaining rough edges, broadening its core support base and doing a better job of communicating its message. And on all of these fronts, change is needed. Still, perceptions linger. Last month's election results showed that too many voters east of Manitoba still think Mr. Harper's party is a collection of socially conservative Western-based populists. For the Conservatives and their supporters, it is tempting to blame voters for their misperceptions. But to do so is self-defeating: It is the job of political parties to sell themselves to the electorate -- so rather than stewing over the lack of buyers, the Conservatives must now consider how to improve their sales pitch. (The best chance we have, for as close to an honest government as politically possible, is to uncover ALL the dirt the Liberals have hidden over the last 11 years. All the graft., All the corruption., All the kickbacks., and All the waste, hidden from the public eye. When enough skeletons are pulled out of enough closets, only 'then' will Toronto, and the East coast say enough is enough.. But then again, that's assuming Toronto and the east, don't get sucked in by even 'more' liberals lies and scare tactics). INFORMATION COMMISSIONER SLAMS JUSTICE DEPARTMENT RECORD KEEPING ON GUN REGISTRY POLLING CONTRACT First, let me say that, although the contract was not yet completed at the time you made your request, to this day there has been no written report produced by PPF to Jus under this contract. [emphasis added] As for correspondence, our investigation determined that only one e-mail exchanged between PPF and Jus, and one invoice, still exist. They were disclosed to you on March 15, 2004.Jus claimed that no written report was produced because PPF was hired to review the methodology and final estimates used by GPC International Research in conducting two national surveys to determine the number of Canadian firearm owners. However, the contract also stipulates that PPF was to report the findings to the Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Firearms Centre, then reporting to Jus. In this regard, we interviewed officials and consultants to understand how the reporting had been done. It was demonstrated that meetings took place and documents were exchanged between PPF and GPC. The Department of Justice has not received or required PPF or GPC to provide it with copies of these documents. [emphasis added] May I say that I found the record-keeping practices, associated with the administration by Justice Canada of the contract at issue, to be unprofessional and inadequate for purposes of accountability, prudent management and facilitation of access rights. [emphasis added] I will inform the department of my views in this regard.(Well Paul? Explain 'THIS' or shut the whole mess down!) Federal parties mull effect of empty pockets OTTAWA - With the federal election just over, party workers will have to scramble to recover financially before another election call, probably within the next two years. New financing rules that prohibit big donations from businesses, unions and wealthy individuals will make their job much harder. But Steven MacKinnon, the Liberals' new director, said the party is finding new ways to raise money through many small individual donations rather a few big ones. MacKinnon knows party officials have to work quickly because minority governments are known to be unstable and leaders could get restless to leap into a new election. (Well, I thought the liberals had already solved this problem by getting their buddies in the big ad agencies to tell their employees to make 'personal' donations, and then the companies would reimburse them.. It worked last time around.. I wonder when the liberals will start repaying all that dirty money they said they weren't campaigning on? See any pigs flying yet?) Lacombe to run for Alberta Alliance Edmonton - A former sergeant-at-arms is looking to return to the legislature, as an MLA. Oscar Lacombe, who made a public stand against the federal gun registry, says he wants to run for the Alberta Alliance party in the next provincial election. Lacombe, 75, says he will run in Lac La Biche-St. Paul, a riding now represented by Conservative Ray Danyluk. The Korean war vet was found guilty of carrying an unregistered and unlicensed firearm and of bringing a weapon to a public meeting, after he brought a rifle, wrapped in plastic and with the bolt removed, to an anti-gun registry rally on Jan. 1, 2003.(The firearms act would be unable to withstand a constitutional challenge, that's why he was convicted under the criminal code instead. The Liberals do not have the guts to let this stupid stupid law face a constitutional challenge, not while they can simply keep on using it as a threat ) The Martin Ferriers of the prison system And what of the other Martin Ferriers? Of those held until the last possible day of their federal prison terms and released between 1988 and 1992, roughly 48 per cent landed back in federal prison. (The National Parole Board has no figures on how many received provincial terms.) Of those released in 1999-2000, 20 per cent are already back in federal prison. There is no easy answer for this difficult group of felons. Should there be some way, after they have paid their court-ordered debt to society, of tagging them as dangerous offenders and holding them indefinitely? The retroactivity is a problem; it is preferable to leave that Draconian power where it is now, in the hands of judges at sentencing time. Should they be forced to take treatment? The treatment seems unlikely to work if it is against their will. Better to insist on tough sentences, including the judicious use of indefinite incarceration and long-term post-prison conditions, and better social supports, away from residential communities. That would be a start for Martin Ferrier, and for those like him.(Harper and the Conservatives promoted a three strikes and your out policy. But liberals feel there is no such thing a a real criminal, only 'misunderstood individuals in need of rehabilitation'. The vast majority of crimes are committed by previous felons, yet the liberals spent 1-2 billion dollars controlling duck hunters(????) That money alone could have built several prisons and kept this trash off the street. For those of you that are not killed over the next 18 months or so by released felons, maybe the 'next' election will reveal a willingness for 'real' change!) Bureaucratic bungling knows no limits What does it take to get fired in government? At City Hall, bureaucrats slip through a $24-million provision for their own pay raises despite city council's belief it was looking at bare-bones figures. At Queen's Park, cabinet approves 3% social services increases, only to be told the $500-million computer system purchased by bureaucrats can't handle routine payment increases. On Parliament Hill, the gun registry runs 1,000% over budget, but the senior managers receive promotions and bonuses. Yet the mayor, premier and prime minister so far show more interest in managing the public relations fallout than fixing the problems. Dalton McGuinty has become so synonymous with broken promises that many voters think his government is responsible for the latest provincial screw-up. (It has been said, that the 'only' way to get fired from a federal government job, is to get caught screwing the Prime Minister's secretary, on the Prime Minister's desk, when it 'his' turn! And it looks like that might not be too far from the truth) Growing Nuisance Bear Problem Wandering, hungry bears, a nuisance that used to be confined mainly to rural areas and campsites, is shaping up to be a bigger problem this summer in Northern Ontario. The O.P.P say they're seeing a jump in calls about nuisance bears and the MNR says it's received more than six-thousand calls since April on it's new bear hotline. Hunters blame the government and the cancellation of the spring bear hunt five years ago. They say it's a public safety issue, not one of wildlife management. But provincial officials say that's not necessarily the case. A spokesman for the MNR says the bear population hasn't increased much over the last few years. (Bears shot in towns that have never had bears before, 6000 calls to a nuisance bears hotline since april, advertisements in newspapers telling people to protect their garbage from bears.. All of this stuff never, or hardly ever happened prior to the spring hunt cancellation for purely political reasons. If the bear population has not increased much over the last few years, why have the bear complaints suddenly skyrocketed, and just were did the 15,000 or more bears that did 'not' get shot over the last five years go? Someone at the MNR has their head up their ass, and until some city politician gets attacked in Queens Park, DownTown Toronto we can only expect the bewildering 'denial' of a very real problem will continue until the 'human' body count starts to rise. People will die, simply because the government does not want to face the truth and embarrassment of hearing "I told you so") Electronic democracy Typing your name, postal code and SIN number onto the computer ballot should be all that is necessary to identify you. Sure, critics will say all of that can be stolen, but who would be bothered just to vote? Stealing credit card information is understandable in a world driven by money, but who wants to steal your vote for a politician? (A power at any cost Liberal would think nothing of stealing a vote) It would be interesting to see how effective internet voting might be. We can pick any topic and sample what the public is really thinking as compared to what the politicians tell us we are thinking. We could take the hot topic of the Gun Registry for example. Liberals told us it was what the majority desired and would cost us only $2-million. We know it is soon going to cost us $2-billion. It also cost the Liberals many votes. But do they want to know what the people think? Let’s try a sample for them. Here’s the question: “Do you think the Gun Registry should be terminated?” Yes or No? You can e-mail me and I’ll pass it on to Paul Martin. Just send your answer to: editor@communitypress-online.com (This has been done a hundred times before, Paul Martin didn't even listen to the people he 'hired' to make recommendations regarding the gun registry, I wouldn't expect them to listen to any informal poll..What the hell, one more wont hurt!) Bullfrog explosion plaguing B.C. LANGLEY, BC - American bullfrogs as big as chickens are multiplying rapidly in British Columbia, causing headaches for homeowners and environmentalists trying to control the population. The frogs were imported into the province in the 1930s to supply restaurants with gourmet frogs' legs. When the industry failed, the frogs were released into the wild and caused no problem for decades. In the past 15 years, though, they started to breed rapidly, take over habitat throughout the southwest B.C. and devour native frogs to the point where the red-legged frog is now an endangered species.(What's the problem? Buy your kid a good pellet gun, and he or she can sit on the bank of a pond for hours picking off frogs! A .22 could cause a dangerous ricochet that can travel for quite a distance, but a good BB gun or Pellet gun drops that risk to virtually zero, particularly when shooting at a steep angle.. Low noise, and dead frogs! what more could you ask for.. Of course, if you stick a straw up their ass and inflate them, they also make great foot balls..The smaller ones? Tennis balls... Oooooo look at that PETA lady cringe!!!!) Controversial criminal sent back to prison BRAMPTON, ONT. - A repeat sex offender was sent back to prison Wednesday, just one day after being released amid community outrage and warnings that he was likely to commit another violent crime. A tearful Martin Ferrier, 31, pleaded guilty to breaching conditions attached to his release in Brampton, Ont., and uttering death threats against a reporter. Ferrier's most recent 28-month prison stretch was for threatening his former brother-in-law. During his time in jail, police said he was convicted of using a weapon to assault another inmate. Before his release, his mother, Judy Perry, had begged corrections officials to keep her son incarcerated for the sake of the public. Correctional Services Canada has no power to do that after an inmate's full sentence has expired. "I think this will allow me two more years to lobby the attorney general to have the laws changed," Perry said. "Now we have two years to do this. So let's get on it." (As long as the liberals are in power, freak shows like this will be common. Harper wanted a 'three strikes and your in for good' law, but good old Ontario kept believing Liberal lies and attack ads, and voted for more of the same... Live with it!!!) Patrolling Toronto police officer shot TORONTO - A Toronto police officer underwent surgery Thursday morning after he was shot while on routine patrol in the city's west end. "There was an exchange of gunfire between the suspect and the police officer and the officer was struck a number of times," Police Chief Julian Fantino said outside St. Michael's Hospital, where both men were being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. A second suspect, a woman, was also taken into custody after the 1 a.m. incident on a dead-end street, he said. The shooting is being investigated by the province's Special Investigations Unit, a civilian agency that investigates circumstances involving police and civilians which have resulted in serious injury, sexual assault or death. (No doubt, they will consult the registry and find out how this criminal got a licence to own a handgun, as well as getting it registered. After all, the registry was put into place to prevent criminals from buying guns.. I wonder why the whole thing is just not working.. Do you suppose the criminals are 'brash' enough to flaunt the law and 'not' licence or register their guns? That's just not what Allan Rock promised us when he concocted this farce is it? Police Officers that work for Police Chiefs that support this farce ought to think about that while their crawling to safety under the hail of gunfire NOT coming from a local duck hunter!!) Deal lets Ontario Métis hunt, fish freely THUNDER BAY, ONT. - After months of talks, Ontario's Métis reached a deal with the provincial government Wednesday that will allow them to hunt and fish more freely. From now on, the Ministry of Natural Resources will recognize the use of Métis licences known as "harvester certificates," which will prevent hunters from being charged or having their game or weapons confiscated during a hunt. They will not be able to sell the game they catch, however. Similar rules will apply to Métis who fish for their own use, even out of season. (Oh joy!! Will the jubilation ever cease... Now, they can simply be arrested for not registering their firearms, and if they don't have a licence, they can't 'legally' get ammunition anyway.. Looks like the freedom to throw rocks, or bow hunt forOntario Métis) Firearms are our weapons of mass destruction A 'Fine' Display of Anti Gun, Ignorant propaganda from the Journal Times Gun law history Most Americans don't realize that gun control laws were first created to keep black people powerless and enslaved. This continued after the Civil War, when more laws were passed to prevent Blacks, freed slaves, from getting guns. The passage of the "Black Codes" of 1865 were laws limiting the rights of blacks, after slavery was abolished. These Black Codes were the first gun control laws of the country. They were meant to prevent blacks from owning firearms. Other such laws followed, all aimed at preventing blacks from owning or obtaining guns. The term "Saturday Night Special," which refers to a small cheap pistol, comes from the racist epithet "Niggertown Saturday Night," an early 20th century derogatory term, used to refer to blacks who came to town to revel on Saturday nights, after a hard week's work in the fields. Law is needed I guess gun control laws were needed for blacks, but are not now needed for whites. In light of the evidence of the out-of-control gun homicide epidemic in this nation. A well-regulated national centrally administered gun control law is warranted and necessary. Such legislation has proven successful in Canada, England, Japan, Australia and other industrialized nations. It would also be effective in this nation, over a period of time. Although there would not be instant success, it would be a step in the right direction, toward stemming the tide in an attempt to abate this on-going national blood bath. The administration and our elected officials in Washington, continue to either, remain silent, reject or fight every attempt or piece of legislation that is aimed at at national gun control, that comes before them. They continue to be beholding to and remain to be held hostage by the notorious infamous National Rifle Association and their political contributions. Joe Harris is a longtime community activist and a Kenosha Jobs Service supervisor.(Joe Harris obviously knows sweet bugger all about crime in the U.S., and other countries as well. He doesn't know that as violent crimes in the U.S.A. are decreasing year by year as the ownership of firearms increases year by year. He also doesn't know that the violent crime rates of every other country he mentioned as examples of 'good gun control' has now surpassed the violent crime rates of the U.S.A. Why? because 'victims' are almost always defenceless in those countries. When was the last time you heard the term "Armed Victim"? States that has passed concealed carry laws, have in every case, seen their violent crime rate decrease. While cities that enforce strict gun laws such as Washington D.C. ,Chicago, and New York have seen large increases, particularly Washington D.C. which has a total gun ban.. There's nothing like an unarmed victim to make the criminals life easier, because now, crime IS beginning to pay! I wonder if Alan Rock was aware of the Racist term as he referred to a "Saturday Night Special". Probably was, after all the whole law is rather demeaning and divisive) Smashing gang bigger deal than coke seizure Monday's $18-million cocaine seizure off the Eastern Shore wasn't the RCMP's biggest catch that day, say Quebec Mounties. The head of the force's criminal operations in Quebec said arrests made in the case smashed a gang whose main function was to bring drugs to Canada for others to sell. (Things that make you go Hmmmm: Of course, one has to compare this to 'another' drug seizure. The one from one of Paul Martins Ships, where leaving it alone could have Smashed a 'bigger' gang that came to retrieve it.. But alas, this 'could' have been an embarrassment for our P.M. so, invoking the double standard of our Canadian liberal Just-Us system, a decision was made to retrieve the drugs, and forgo trying to capture the smugglers when 'they' tried to retrieve them.. Hmmmm... I wonder why?) Provinces strive to avoid Ontario-style welfare glitch Two provinces say they have opted to stay with mainframe technology rather than push ahead with a welfare system upgrade like the one that has come back to haunt Ontario. The province of Ontario has experienced numerous difficulties with a system that was contract-built by Accenture Canada. Mostly recently, the system was unable to calculate a three per cent across-the-board increase in the cheques sent out to the province's eligible welfare recipients. In the wake of Ontario's welfare problems and the billion-dollar federal gun registry boondoogle, the "era of mega-systems development" may be over, he said. Projects that are delivered in pieces over months rather than in builds that require years may be the next logical step.(It all boils down to 'garbage in - garbage out' poorly designed systems, and how much money can be made by the supplier, for as little work as possible. Years ago, I designed a system that would track and record information on thousands of commercial divers working in federal waters, with as many as 40 separate fields per individual, on three different certification levels. This entire database written entirely in 'C' could run on a desktop or laptop computer, 15 years ago, and it worked well. 99.999% of the computer problems governments encounter, are because of poor communication of needs and design, by over bloated bureaucrats that don't know nearly as much as they would like you to think they do.. Some of them are downright morons, with no concept of data manipulation. They only understand 'manipulation' Unfortunately, bureaucrats 'run' this country by building up their little personal 'kingdoms' and fooling elected ministers into thinking they are actually smart enough to do their job. ) Ontario voters misinformed, says MP Dale Johnston, winner of the June 28 federal election for the Wetaskiwin riding, which the Lacombe area is part of, says the Conservative Party of Canada lost voters in Ontario because of false accusations made by the Liberals… "I was a bit disappointed in Ontario," said Johnston a day after the election. "It’s fair to say the electorate made their decisions on misinformation." He was referring to an attack-ad campaign by Liberals that branded Conservative leader Stephen Harper as a right-wing extremist who would send soldiers to Iraq, ruin health care and weaken gun laws. "My problem with all of that is there is absolutely nothing to substantiate all of these rumours," said Johnston. "If you’re determined to vilify somebody, all you have to do is create concern or doubt." He said Ontarians need only see more of his party to be convinced of the truth, something he said the Conservatives didn’t have time to do since the election was called just half a year after the party was formed. "We did not have time to have a policy convention," said Johnston, noting that resulting media attention would have showed the party’s true colours. Technically, a federal election was not required until November 2005, but Johnston said Prime Minister Paul Martin had two things in mind when he opted to call one early.First, he said, Martin wanted to catch the Conservatives unprepared. Second, he figured Martin was afraid the sponsorship scandal, involving millions of misspent tax dollars during Jean Chrétien’s time in office, would only get bigger.(To a liberal, It doesn't matter 'what' you say during an election, McGuinty has proven that! The Ontario 'urban sheeple' will believe just about anything.. Of course, the Liberals were bound to bring up the old bullshit about a "hidden agenda" when in fact the last 3 election have shown the only party with 'hidden agendas' ARE the Liberals. Catch them un prepared, and lie through your teeth. Advice every liberal takes to heart. How long do you think were going to have to wait, for Martin's party to pay back the money stolen from Canadian Taxpayers? How long do you think it will be before the 'next' liberal scandal is discovered? How many times do Ontario voters have to be kicked in the ass before they smarten up? ) Granny, get your gun Sydney - A pistol-packing grandmother is set to become Australia's oldest Olympian in 28 years after earning selection in the shooting team for the Athens Games. At an age when many of her contemporaries are starting to slow down, 56-year-old Annette Woodward has her finger on the trigger and her sights set on Olympic gold. "I think it just shows what self-belief can do," Woodward said. "Because of my age I didn't really think I could make the team so I'm pretty pleased with what I've done." Woodward's selection for the 25-metre pistol event for Athens was as remarkable as it was unlikely. Not only did she come out of retirement to make the team, but she will also become the oldest person to represent Australia at an Olympics since equestrian Bill Roycroft won a three-day event bronze medal at Montreal in 1976 aged 61. A mother of six, Woodward had never held a gun, let alone fired one, when she suddenly became interested in the sport after watching the 52-year-old Patricia Dench win bronze at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles.(This 'must' be a bit of a embarrassment for an Australian government, that has gone out of it's way to paint guns and their owners as nothing but potential murderers to be strictly controlled!) The Michael Moore Test George W. Bush has rarely, if ever, said a discouraging word about Hollywood, but Hollywood is unloading every gun and bomb bay on George W. Bush. Earlier in the summer, we had the cartoonish science-fiction film The Day After Tomorrow, in which the clueless Bush stand-in president somehow freezes from global warming, and the Cheney stand-in vice president confesses he should have listened to the Greenpeace gang, for they have all knowledge and wisdom. At least that malarkey was pitched as fiction, raising further questions about Al Gore's political sanity for roundly endorsing it. The main exhibit now is Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9-11, a film full of flagrant fouls on the facts, posing as a nonfiction documentary. In Moore's alternative universe, President Bush went to war not to fight terrorism, but for oil riches. He went to war not to defend America's honor and security, but to enrich defense contractors and keep the poor people in the ghetto (or exploit them as cannon fodder). He went to war not to defeat Osama bin Laden, but as a monstrously cynical wink-wink deal between the Bush family and the bin Laden family. How inaccurate is it? Entire corporate dairy farms don't have this much manure. Moore critics could write a book the size of a dictionary chronicling the second-by-second lying and fact-mangling in this movie, starting from the very first minutes in which Moore suggests Bush couldn't get anything passed in his first eight months in office. (Major tax cut, anyone?) On and on the conspiracies tumble out, yet surprisingly he leaves out his best one: the theory that Bush has Osama stowed in some Saudi attic for safe-keeping.(As long as the general public remains gullible to liberal manipulation, crap like this will continue to flow. I'm surprised that Moore did not include the Roswell Aliens Bush has had hidden in the family barn for more than 50 years, or the man with the 'hook' discussed over campfires for generations was non other than a Bush family member they just don't talk about ..And what about all those times it rained 'frogs'? A 'obvious' case of weather tampering by the Republicans!(Here's the best example I have seen to date of of typical liberal paranoia) ) `No money' for quick election Liberals, Tories owe almost $1 million in vote subsidies OTTAWA—Neither the Liberals nor the Conservatives are likely to be in a hurry to force another election any time soon, as both parties' finances have been undermined by a quirk in the new election rules. Lower than expected vote totals in the June 28 election mean the Liberals will have to repay about $260,000 to the federal treasury, while the Conservatives will owe about $690,000. Both parties must pay by year-end. "When people said after (the election) that there would be another election within six months or a year, I said, `Nonsense,'" one senior Liberal organizer said. "There's not going to be an election because there's not going to be any money."(Any guess as to where all that Adscam kickback money is going to go? Once the liberals have paid back their 260k, look for another election to pop up while the conservitives are still in debt, and unable to 'really' fight back.. Remember the liberal motto folks: "Power at any cost"!) Canada Will Recount Votes in Ontario District; Liberal May Gain July 6 (Bloomberg) - Canadian officials will recount ballots in an Ontario district where a candidate for the governing Liberal Party lost in last week's election. Elections Canada said late yesterday that results show the winner, Gary Goodyear of the Conservative Party, won by 228 votes, equivalent to less than 0.5 percent of the 51,838 ballots cast in the district of Cambridge, southwest of Toronto. Liberal candidate Janko Peric, who came in second with 18,912 votes, requested a recount, the agency said in a CCNMatthews release. Goodyear garnered 19,140 votes. The recount will begin today. The Liberals, led by Prime Minister Paul Martin, lost their governing majority in the election. Gaining one seat in Canada's House of Commons would give the party enough votes to pass bills with the support of the New Democratic Party. (Sounds like 'another' ballot box 'may' mysteriously be found, (Anne McLellan, with experience in this, is probably helping them look) giving another liberal much sought after trough privileges! ) Upsetting balance Ontario, and especially the Toronto area, panicked by a successful Liberal anti-Conservative scare campaign on TV and dominated by a pro-Liberal immigrant vote, continued to give most of its seats to the Grits. However, good old Ontario taxpayers are forced to cough up a major share of the dough that goes into the federal treasury, while getting back nothing in federal equalization payments and very little in special projects. In other words, Ontarians once more emerge as the nation's biggest suckers in federal elections. They constantly elect the Liberals but get little or nothing back in return -- except ever-increasing tax bills. So where do we go from here? Well, the lib-left media that dominates Canadian politics has already suggested that Harper was so discouraged at the outcome that he's contemplating quitting. Hopefully, that's pure garbage as many of these rumours usually prove to be. At 46 and having led the creation of the newly united party, this intelligent and energetic man has a lot to offer. What he should do is what he probably is already doing. He's taking a much-needed holiday with his family. His batteries recharged, he will soon realize that he and his Conservatives have a tremendous opportunity to be an effective, hard-hitting official opposition in the Commons. With his organizational skills, he can make sure his critics and their staffs have well-researched questions to expose the incompetence and ripoffs of taxpayers' funds for which the Liberals are notorious. Yep, there's probably a lot more scandals still buried -- even bigger than the AdScam and gun registry messes. A united Conservative party with strong leadership can out the truth on these and other Liberal boondoggles. (Every conservative will be armed with a shovel, and the people won't have to wait long for more liberal crap to rise to the surface like scum on a pond. With Paul Martins powers somewhat more limited than they were in the past, he will not be able to "sweep it all under the table" as he said he could have done during the debate. By the time the next election come around in a year or so, the public will be much more aware about what has been stolen from them. Perhaps even Toronto might say enough is enough!) Canadian defence computers being hit with e-mails designed to get inside system
Drugs hitch ride on ship named for PM's wife
Most of the details about the incidents, code-named Snow Leopard by the Canadian Forces, are secret. But, Defence Department records confirm hackers were able to gain access to military computers on at least 10 occasions last year. In total in 2003, the military's computer response team dealt with 160 incidents ranging from poor cyber security to unauthorized entry into high-level systems. According to one report produced in December, Defence employees were hit by "suspicious e-mails that appear to be targeting DND individuals in an attempt to 'social engineer' the installation of malicious code." Social engineering involves the use of deception to try to gain access to the password of a large computer system or network. For instance, it can be done through e-mails sent by a hacker posing as an organization's computer security official and requesting verification of an individual's password. Malicious code could refer to a variety of problems including viruses and worms.(I've often wondered about 'who' would be stupid enough to open a email 'attachment', or respond to email asking for 'passwords'. I would imagine there are lots of these poorly trained, poorly investigated people employed by the C.F.C.. No doubt, that's why certain individuals with 'interesting' firearms collections are being hit from time to time. If the MILITARY has dubious entries into 'it's' systems, from information unwittingly supplied by supposedly better trained 'military' personnel, what do you think the chances are that the C.F.C has NOT been compromised? Can you say ZERO? shooore..I know you can... Feel safer? I didn't think so!) Roving black bear shot near Hamilton A black bear seen wandering in the Dundas area near Hamilton has been shot and killed. Animal control officers found the bear in a bush and were waiting for provincial officials when they decided to shoot. Several residents in the Dundas and Flamborough areas had reported seeing the bear over the past couple of days. Parents were told to not let children play near bush areas and to be vigilant when walking in the woods. The Ministry of Natural Resources says bear sightings this far south at this time of year are unusual. (Sighting Black Bears that far south at 'any' time of the year is unusual! With 20 - 30 THOUSAND more bears in Ontario, than there would have been had the Spring hunt not been cancelled for purely political reasons. People should expect to see more bears roaming more neighbourhoods, until a child is stalked and killed by one. Then, and only then, will sanity return and the hunt re-opened. There are simply too many bears in Ontario, and only a fool, or someone from the city would think that this is 'not' a problem, and not going to cause someone's death in the future.) Police chiefs: Where's the money? The provincial Liberals promised during last fall's election to put 1,000 new police officers on Ontario streets, but a gathering of chiefs of police in Windsor this week wants to know where the money is. While the announcement has been welcomed, the government's April budget made no mention or reference to the delivery of the election pledge. "We were surprised," said Midland police Chief Paul Hamelin, adding: "Policing is as important as education and health."(More money for the police, was only 'yet another' liberal lie to gain power at any cost.. Perhaps after being the direct recipient of a liberal lie, the police might not be so quick as to use their power to abuse and curtail the right of someone 'else' that simply writes a 'harsh' email containing no threats to Liberal McGuinty in the future.. A thought for the police while waiting for these liberal vapour funds! Don't hold your breath!) SYDNEY, N.S. - Authorities in Cape Breton said Thursday that organized criminals apparently tried to smuggle a big shipment of cocaine on a cargo ship named after the prime minister's wife and operated by his sons. Officials at the Port of Sydney found the drugs during a routine examination of the Sheila Ann early Wednesday. The 83 kilograms of cocaine were in two duffle bags bolted to the outside of the Canada Steamship Lines vessel, close to the rudder. Prime Minister Paul Martin owned the company but transferred control to his three sons last year. A spokesperson for the Canada Border Services Agency said it's not uncommon for legitimate companies to be unknowingly exploited by organized crime to move contraband. He said the only way the drugs could have been planted was by divers working underwater. The ship was carrying bulk coal and was scheduled to sail to Halifax and then Florida. The ship and its crew were free to leave Sydney by Wednesday night and no charges were laid. (Hmmmm The P.M. says he wants to ratify Kyoto. Kyoto would ban the burning of coal in generators. Looks like good old Paul ain't above making a buck or two by shipping the stuff to places where it can be currently burned without problems eh.. His coal shipments will eventually headed for China! If Kyoto is ratified, coal prices will 'plunge' making the shipment to non Kyoto controlled countries very, very, profitable indeed. And, he won't even have to 'bolt it to a rudder') Ontario judge rules province's sex offender registry is unconstitutional KITCHENER, ONT. - An Ontario provincial court judge has found the law governing the province's sex offender registry is too broad and therefore unconstitutional. Christopher's Law, as it is known, requires anyone convicted of a sex offence to register with their local police force every year as long as they live in Ontario. Police wanted the registry, saying lives could be saved if they had speedy access to the names and addresses of known sex offenders. But Justice Gary Hearn, presiding over the law's first constitutional challenge in Kitchener, said it deprived offenders of their right to liberty and security, no matter how laudable its goal. In a written decision released in Ontario Court, he said the law is offence-oriented, requiring everyone convicted of a sex offence to register, regardless of the crime committed. Hearn said offenders have no way of disputing their inclusion on the registry or arguing that they should be removed from it, meaning the law lacks fundamental procedures giving people the right to a hearing. Stephen Gehl, the lawyer who launched the challenge, said, for example, a man convicted of patting a woman on the bum would be put in the same category as a dangerous pedophile. He argued people should be included on the registry only if they are high-risk or violent offenders. (Hey! I'm all for throwing perverts in jail, but if this law is broad as the judge says it is, then it's flawed. For example, you could walk up behind a particularly humourless woman you mistakenly think is your wife or girlfriend, give her a quick kiss on the side of her neck, and end up arrested, in court, and on the sex offender registry. That's just how broad it apparently is.. ) Fifty-six Deceits in Fahrenheit 911 There are many articles which have pointed out the distortions, falsehoods, and lies in the film Fahrenheit 911. This report compiles the Fahrenheit 911 deceits which have been identified by a wide variety of reviewers. In addition, I identify some inaccuracies which have not been addressed by other writers. The report follows the approximate order in which the movie covers particular topics: the Bush family, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, and Iraq. This report focuses solely on factual issues, and not on aesthetic criticism of the film. To understand the deceptions, it helps to understand Moore’s ideological position. So let us start with Moore’s belief that the September 11 attacks on the United States were insignificant. In this report, I number Moore’s deceits. Some of them are outright lies; some are omissions which create a false impression. Others involve different forms of deception. A few are false statements Moore has made when defending the film.(Moore is a manipulating propagandist of the worst kind. All of his films follow the same pattern of creative editing, twisted truths, outright lies, and absurd situations presented as plausible. Why anyone would give him the slightest respect for this trash is far beyond basic reasoning. America certainly has it's problems, and Moore is certainly one of them! Thank christ he's not a Canadian, we have enough stupid liberals as it is! But, if you go see this movie, just remember: You'll Laugh, you'll Cry, you'll kiss 10 or 20 bucks goodbye, and Moore will laugh all the way to the bank (where no doubt someone will give him a free shotgun) and thank you, for being dumb enough to believe it all..) After the dance is over … It's all over now, folks—bar the shouting and backbiting and recounts and grubby deal-making and the usual sequelae to an election. If anybody went into this election believing it was our chance to challenge the decisions made by our rulers—that the election actually represented a way of holding people to account for the decisions they made—they've been brutally disabused of such ideas. Take a simple and relatively clear-cut issue like the gun registry, for example. This one really mattered to some people, to the extent that there were a few signs dragged out from years gone by to "Stop the Gun Registry" and so on. But was anyone held to account for it? Even the Liberals don't pretend it wasn't an out-of-control boondoggle. A straightforward data base that was supposed to cost us $2-million net has gone over the $1-billion mark and is still on an upward trajectory. It's become such a shambles that the Liberals have decided, in effect, to just quietly put the law on a shelf. It's like other unpopular laws What member of the new parliament will be able to stand up and say he has a clear and unequivocal mandate from his constituents to ban the registry? (It was especially amusing to see some guy drive a couple of thousand kilometres with his perfectly legal, registered guns and lots of ammo in order to shoot some unpleasant people; how much protection did the registry provide his potential victims?)(Ahhh the 'light' clicks on in another mind! What protection indeed. It's a sham, deceit, and a horrendous waste of money that protects no one. Using a WEAPON any WEAPON in the commission of a crime should receive a automatic 'consecutive' ten years, in addition to the time for the crime itself. Then, and only then will you see a drop in violent offences. Punishing 'criminals' is "clearly" not a "priority" with any liberal government, but putting the criminals 'rights' above those of the victims 'are'.. People who vote liberal, are in all probability not among those who's lives have been directly effected by violent crime. If they were, they are either very gullible to liberal lies, or very stupid. You had a chance to change the liberal 'Just-Us' system of this country, and you chose not to... Now, will all have to live with it for the next year or so. Change IS good Donkey!) Harper hints at early exit after election defeat Harper flew back to Ottawa from Calgary on Tuesday afternoon and briefly talked to reporters aboard his campaign plane. Harper says the big picture is good for the new Conservative party, but adds the world is unfolding slower than he expected. "I'm always willing to serve so I'm going to take a little bit of time with my family," he said when reporters asked whether he would stay. "And obviously I'm already talking to people across the country." Conservative party strategists are also sifting through the election results to figure out what went wrong. (What went wrong had little to do with Stephen Harper! This man took a new party, and leadership to 99 seats in it's first election. 24 of those in the Liberal Red Ontario. Losing Harper would be a real blow to the party. Paul Martin would also be able to say the 'new' guy is scarier than Harper. Which, to Toronto's gullible voters, would be pure gospel! ) There will be no coalition, Martin says OTTAWA - Prime Minister Paul Martin says he's confident he can get the Liberals' major policies through Parliament without a formal coalition with another party. Martin met reporters on Tuesday, a day after his party won 135 seats, enough to form a minority government. Voters elected 99 Conservatives, 19 New Democrats, 54 members of the Bloc Québécois and one Non-Affiliated The results mean the Liberals can't get any laws passed without the co-operation of at least some of the members of the other parties. But Martin said he's confident he can work on a case-by-case basis to find common ground on his main priorities: health care, a national day-care program and a better deal for cities. (Well, 'this' might be a good thing! The last one to govern as if they had a majority was Joke Lark, and we all know what happened to him! If the Government goes down, it will be because of Liberal arrogance, and ineptitude. Maybe we should have more faith in 'The Amazing Kreskin' who not only picked the correct number for Liberal seats, but also made the prediction that if the government folds within 14 months, Martin won't win the next election.. I don't happen to think Kreskin is any more 'Amazing' than any other skilled illusionist, because it 'is' rare for a minority P.M. to win a majority or even for a party to win 5 elections in a row.. But, I AM going to enjoy watching the liberals crash after the 'real' truth starts to come out, and Toronto can 'really' see what their unreasonable fear, and gullible belief in Liberal scare tactics, did to the rest of the country.) |
