Dear Helene, Let me start this letter by saying THANK YOU. It ws not an easy process for me to find a great breeder. I looked for over a year and ran into the continuous problem of the breeder only caring about the money. When I found Helene, (Lenga's German Shepherds) I knew from the conversation we had that my search was over. Helene was very informative and was absolutely patienct with all my questions. She made me feel like a future friend and even invited me to her house to meet all of her dogs.
With my decision made, I signed up for the breeding of two big beautiful GSD's Lenga's Keira Von Ass De Kona and Champion Lorien's Patron. During the process, Helene always kept me updated. When the pupies were born, Helene never let a day go by without emailing me pictures. Her enthusiasm for what she does is unmatched. She truly cares about what you want in your puppy and helped me prepare for the day I would pick him up and bring him home. After weeks of anticipation, I was finally given my pup named Lenga's Bodie Von Whofhausen. Bodie desplayed great qualities from the start, and adapted to his new home and life quickly.
The process with Helene did not end there, like it would have with most breeders. As Bodie grew, I had many questions and Helene was always there to answer them. She does not hesitate in emailing me back when I send her pictures and truly loves watching Bodie grow up.

My wife and I recently bought a 14 month old, male German Shepherd, named: "Spirit" from you.
Over a long marriage we have had several German Shepherds, having acquired the first one in 1948. In the past, we have had female dogs, because they have a reputation for being more tractable and gentler than males, or so we thought. Spirit is our first male.
Spirit couldn't be more gentler, calmer, or sweeter than he is. He is also playful and affectionate. He's a wonderful dog and we feel privileged to have him. You have done such a great job in bringing out the best in his personality, and so well behaved in public. He has become our house dog, and he has adapted to his new life style immediately, thanks to your socialization, training and breeding, and he now sleeps at the foot of our bed every night.
He is very intelligent, and Helene, you have done an excellent job of training him. I must say, that he is the best trained dog I have ever had!
In the past with our female dogs, we had to take them to training schools and hired trainers to help us, but not with Spirit. He is so much better,
than we could ever have anticipated, in every way.
When we picked him up at your Kennel, Lenga's German Shepherds, you gave us lots of information about his food, his care, what he knows, and showed us physically all the wonderful things he responded to. We were amazed at his intelligence. A little over a week later, you went out of your way, to come and visit us, at our home, to make sure we were happy with him, and that he was also happy in his new life with us, and to answer any further questions we might have. But Spirit was perfect, and we could not ask anymore from a dog. I doubt that many other breeders would go to that trouble. We never heard a word from previous breeders after we gave them a check. I also want to thank you Helene, for answering all my questions through e-mail so promptly.
We are completely satisfied and totally happy with Spirit. I never knew dogs like this existed, and he is so much more than we hoped for.
I have no hesitation in recommending Helene, from Lenga's German Shepherds to anyone that wants a top quality Shepherd, not only in beauty, but also personality and temperament.

I am writing to you to update you on the progress of "Jake" our little puppy that we purchased from you, from beautiful Cleopatra.
I first want to say that working with you and seeing how you train and treat all of the puppies in your litters was quite amazing. When Jake was only 7 weeks old, you had already trained him to heel and sit, and stop doing inappropriate biting by giving him a signal. That was awesome. So aside from thoroughly enjoying working with you, I must tell you the real season I am writing.
I have had dogs all of my life, all of them special in their own ways. How ever, I have to tell you that this puppy is by far the sweetest, most gentle, loving puppy I have ever seen. He is so mellow and fun to play with. His disposition and personality are so unique. He easily adapts to all situations and doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He is alert, and very smart. He knows how to occupy himself with his toys and doesn't demand constant attention or whine when he goes in his crate for a nap.
As you know, Martha is on oxygen and somehow Jake just seems to know when she gets tired and to leave her oxygen cord alone and not play with it. He will stop and wait for her when she has to stop and rest. He just seems to sense that he needs to wait for her a few minutes.
He gets along so well with our other dogs, because of the socilization you did with him, and tries to be "one of the big guys" All too soon he will be!
Helene, aside from the fact that he is a stunning beauty with a beautiful black saddle and tan legs, and those beautiful German Shepherd markings, he is the most loving, affectionate, contribution to our family. Thank you for making our family complete! Jake is just a wonder! If you ever need someone to give a testimony to your puppies, I would be happy to do so.

I love the pictures. I am especially fond of the pictures of Image and Journey. I can truly vouch for the fact that you breed for personality. The two lovely Guide Dog puppies have fun loving personalities that melt the hearts of all those that meet them. It has been a pleasure to raise them. I caught the train in San Juan Capistrano with Image last week. She had not been on a train since our memorable trip to LA. Anyone watching her would have thought we traveled by train everyday. She did a very professional boarding and exiting of the train. She was not at all aprehensive about the train approaching or leaving. She even crawled under the seat making sure her paws and tail were tucked and out of the way of other passengers. I was so proud of her. I received many compliments on her train behavior. I must write to tell all of Helene's visitors to her website, what a wonderful woman that she is. I met Helene online through a GSD group. I have many German Shepherds from many different lines, both American, German and Canadian. When Helene posted a plea for an
adoptive home for a male GSD that she whelped over 3 years ago, I inquired. Now, Helene, didn't have to help this boy out, but, because it was one of her own, she did all she could to save this guy's life. At the time, he was at risk of being put to sleep by an owner that could no longer care for him. I really didn't need another family member, but I just couldn't resist this
handsome guy.
Helene was very helpful in making sure that this guy was checked over by the vet & was in excellent health. She was the one that booked the
flight for him to get to my home in Tennessee. She really worked closely with me with such a passion. I can tell you without a doubt that when Helene whelps a litter of puppies they are hers for life. Many breeders say that they socialize their puppies, but I must say that none apparently do so as well as Helene. She also has THE best guarantee of any breeder that I've ever come across. I only hope that I can be half the breeder and woman that Helene is.
I picked Lenga's Von Caesar Augustus aka Caesar up at the airport, after being shipped from her home state of California, on October 7, 2002. I was so surprised when I let my new baby out of the crate at the airport. He was a big guy who had not had the best life with his previous owner, yet the socializing that Helene gave him as a young puppy still shined through. My Caesar is 110 lbs of love, comfort & protection. Not once since I have had him has he used the house to relieve himself. He is very obedient. Although he still likes to try to sneak onto the couch when "Daddy" isn't looking, he will get down when told to. Even though his former owner had him de-barked, he still makes enough "noise" that I know when something is going on around or oustide of my home. No, my baby can't "talk", but he is one of the most protective dogs that I've ever had the privilege of being owned by. Yes, I am owned by my GSDs not the other way around. I'm still the boss, but they all know what to do to make "Momma" melt. I could go on forever talking about this wonderful boy of mine & the extraordinary woman that whelped him then three years later saved his life. I'll close by saying that every one looking for a great, all around GSD should take a very close look at Lenga's German Shepherds. I am extremely happy with my Lenga's GSD & I believe you will be too. I have been on Helene's waiting list from Lenga's German Shepherds since Winter 2001. Then the timing wasn't right for us, and we had to put off our puppy until this Fall. Throughout that time, Helene would stay in touch with phone calls, letters and e-mails, informing us of upcoming litters.
While waiting for our special puppy to be old enough to come home, Helene would e-mail pictures and tell us what he was learning. She has always been so attentive to any questions we had. She told us about the dam and sire and the AKC/OFA rating and all the certifications of her dogs. We have met with many breeders over the years and have seen many dogs, rarely does a breeder take such a genuine interest in her dogs and the families getting them.
Now for our puppy, Lucky. what can I say without sounding like a bragging parent. He is beautiful, healthy, sweet and smart. People stop me on the street to comment on what a beautiful dog he is. He loves everyone he meets. His eyes are bright, his coat shines and he walks with a confident stride - all a part of his exceptional breeding and the loving care Helene gives to her puppies.
If you are considering a German Shepherd, I would highly recommend a Lenga Shepherd from Helene.

Dear Helene, I just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with my little Minka. She is all that you said she would be and more. She is doing so well. As you already know, she will be 3 months old tomorrow. I am amazed at how well she is doing. She is one of the smartest Shepherds I have ever had and delight to have. She was already potty trained when I brought her home. I was amazed that she already knew come, sit, and stay. You have done such a great job with her. She has the sweetest and most confident personality for such a young puppy. We started puppy kindergaten this week and the first lesson ws to sit. Of course, Minka ws the only one out of 9 other puppies who alreadyknows that commend, thanks to you. The instructor was amazed at how intelligent she was. I also noted that she is especially foind of children. The wonderful socialization you did really shows now, with her intermingling with other puppies, children, and people she does not know. She approaches everyone with a wagging tail, and confidence. I jsut love workign with her, and she is so eager to please. She is growing like a weed. Everyone who sees her comments on what a beautiful pupp she is. She is super healthy, and her coats always shines. We went to a doggy park, and she met a whole bunch of new dogs, and she was a joy to watch, as she played with everyone. As you already know, I have recommended you to serveral people already and would be pleased if you used this letter as reference, because I know that anyone that gets a puppy from you will be so happy. Have I thanked you recently for giving me the best dog in the world !!!!
Legosi outshines everyone (all other puppies) in puppy class today. He's
also bigger than all of them despite being the youngest. The guy who works
there, keeps telling me that I got a really good dog. He says it on the sly,
so that other people won't hear-- their dogs are nice, but not as sweet and
calm and well-behaved. I don't even have to tell Legosi to sit when we take
walks and stop. He does that all on his own. He's picked up this new command
very fast too. It's called: "no street" If I say that to him, he stops and refuses to step off the curb. He is so smart and easy to train.
Also he is very brave and confident. He scrambles right over all the
obstacles-- the other dogs refuse to get on them, but Legosi runs straight
over them, then back up and back down again. I think he would do great in
the Temperament testing, that I intend to take him to when he is a little
older.

Lucas is not our first GSD by any means, but our first purchased through Helene at Lenga's German Shepherds, and we couldn't be happier! We want to thank you for the exceptional customer service ( which is hard to find these days) taking both the time and interest in helping pick out the best dog for us. You were so helpful, friendly, and patient with our endless emails and phone calls. Lucas has already proven to have a solid, flawless temperament at only 7 months old, so much confidence and not afraid of anything (as he has already proven to our other two adult dogs, a 11 year old GSD and 4 year old lab, that he''s the boss! He is so great with our friends and other dogs. Because of his increasing size (now over 80 lbs.) and his imposing appearance, sometimes people who do not know him are nervous at first, but they quickly discover that he is just a big sweetheart who would like nothing better than to give them a big wet kiss!
He has a drive that blows us away, we have started some puppy training classes and he just loves it! With the training you started, and the little trainng we have done with him, his outstanding bloodlines has been evident. He continuously amazes us with his intelligence. Lucas is also already very protective of his house/property as well as my husband and I (although he is definately a mama's boy, much to my pleasure!) I could go on and on about the qualitty of this dog....we are just so amazed with Lucas, he is so much more of a dog than we could have ever askd for! Helene from Lenga's German Shepherds has gone above and beyond and I'm writing this letter in appreciation for giving me the greatest Shepherd I
have ever had in my life! Khayla, which is what I named my puppy was shipped
to me at eight weeks old. She was so much more magnificent than I had
anticipated. When I first took Khayla to work, (I work as a dog groomer), I
was a little worried that she would become bored and maybe have to be crated
to stay out of mischief. SHE WAS AN ABSOLUTE ANGEL! I couldn't have asked
for more. Everyone loved her and couldn't believe how beautiful and well
behaved she was. She sat under my feet under the grooming table for the
majority of the day. No accidents on the floor. Khayla was potty trained
when I received her at eight weeks. She was wonderful about going potty
outside and does her business immediately and back in the house we go. I
don't have enough words to tell you how happy I am with Khayla. Even though
I live in Missouri and Helene lives in California we write to each other all
the time and have become great friends. She is just that kind of person. I
would recommend Lenga's German Shepherds to anyone.
