He sees to the welfare of the whole team and is a good and responsible coach cum trainer. He's quite experienced, thus his training is never boring. He possesses a never-say-die attitude and is never easily discouraged even when many paddlers do not turn up for training. His perserverence and hard work had paid off and recently in the Singpoare International Dragonboat Festival '98 at East Coast, he led the men's team to winning the IVP championship.

MinYuet.gif (405019 bytes)Kwan Su Min (Right) is the Captain of the ladies team. She is a second year student of the Arts Faculty. Ho Mei Yuet (left) is the vice-captain and studies in the Engineering Faculty. They are very responsible leaders, who take good care of the ladies team, are very experienced and had been rowing since their JC days. In addition, they are strong and good fighters in the team and could inspire you to become one too! They are very patient and supportive trainers and are very encouraging especially towards beginners and weak paddlers. In the recent Singapore International Dragonboat Festival '98 at East Coast, they led the ladies team to winning the 1st runner-up in the IVP. They are fun to be with and could joke a lot, so hopefully more of you could get to meet and know them. You could learn a lot from them! :)

And now, come get to know our little dragons in the ladies team!

wpe46518.gif (285674 bytes) Xie Jiahui (Bizad 3)

Jiahui joined the team in her first year and has been with the team for 2 years. Despite her heavy study load, she is still with the team and is getting fitter and stronger every year. Having been through some major races she had tasted both victory and defeat and is now considered an experienced rower. Oh yes... she is a very good runner and if you ever want to find a pacer, go for her!

wpe63728.gif (300541 bytes) Kow Shih Ju, Lynn (Bizad 3)

Lynn is also one of the seniors who possesses a playful nature. She is a big 'joker' and could be very 'noisy' in the team (as described by one of her team-mates ;> ) Outspoken and active, with her presence she could brighten up your day! So watch out for her! :D

wpe78640.gif (309357 bytes) Tan Swee Yin, Serena (Arts 2)

Serena joined the team in her first year and had made significant improvments in her fitness and paddling performance ever since she joined the team. She is a lovely girl with an attractive smile. Very approacheable and friendly, you could always ask her for guidance in your paddling, and remember... with a big smile ;)

Present Team.gif (405019 bytes) Sharon Ang (Arts 2)

Sharon is also a big 'joker'. She is a joyful lady and a 'woman of steel' ;) Always willing to learn more and putting a lot of effort in her training, she is a thoughtful lady and is one of the most regular and responsible rowers in the team.

wpe94688.gif (306052 bytes) Sia Choon Yen, Clarrisa (Bizad 3)

Clarrisa is a senior in the team too. Though busy with her work load, she is still very supportive of the team and is nicked named 'the laughing buddha' by her ex-national team-mates. As you might have guessed, she is a cute lady who laughing sound could be 'infectious'! ;) Having no previous sports background when she joined the team in her first year, she is now a major asset to the team and a strong 'motor'.

Present Team.gif (405019 bytes) Goh Bee Keow, Crystal (Eng 2)

Crystal is a good fighter and always ready to stand up for the team. Quite self-disiplined, she is an energtic and active lady who could train herself even when alone and don't mind running in the hot sun too! She will make a good companion who can set you on the right trail, especially if you are just starting out as a paddler.

Present Team.gif (405019 bytes) Chew Lee Huang, Rachel (Sci 3)

Rachel is a humble and cute little dragon who possess great mental power. She is also always willing to learn and trying out new things. Self disciplined and highly motivated, she is also a great swimmer (hence if you wanna learn to swim, seek her out!) So people, for those of you who don't know how to swim, don't ever worry the boat will overturn anymore ;) There is always someone you could turn to!
