E-mail (talk to me)

The Internet is a fascinating place. On it you can buy books, check stock prices, use computers halfway around the world as if they were on your desk, or keep in touch with friends. This page is mainly about the last choice, keeping in touch with me. I'm usually always somewhere near a computer, so I can always be reached by e-mail. But, to make matters complicated, I've got a heap of e-mail addresses that keep getting harder and harder to keep track of. Thus, a second reason for this page. My principle e-mail address is the one at the University of Victoria, although I usually use another one depending on where I am. If you send something to this address, it'll get to me. It's fairly simple to remember, as well. What's my last name? cavanagh. Where do I go to university? uvic. In which country is Victoria? ca. Simple.

While I'm at the Dominion Astrophysical Observatory, I do have another e-mail address. However, because I do not want other people to have that address, I only give it out to good friends. If you don't know it, there's a reason. Don't ask for it, unless you're a good friend of mine.

I have addresses on other systems as well. Most of these get forwarded to my primary account, but it would be easier to just e-mail me at that address.

In addition to e-mailing me, you can try to catch me on one of the Internet's BBSs. I'm primarily on two, but I might be found on others. These two are ISCABBS (bbs.isca.uiowa.edu), which is run by the Iowa State Computing Assosciation, and Discordia (discordia.susqu.edu), which is run by a few people from Susquehanna University. On ISCABBS my handle is Zaphod Beeblebrox, and on Discordia I'm Zaph. I'm usually on one or the other for a few hours each work day. But, since I work I'm not usually paying attention, so if you try to talk with me, and I don't respond quickly, you know why.
