ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE SEVENTH AICCF CHAMPIONSHIP
1507 (2006-2009)
- The 7th AICCF Championship, 1507 will be a 15-player single game Round Robin tournament commencing around June 2006 with adjudication date around June 2009 (extendible, if necessary). Shri S.M.Mody will be the Tournament Director. The Entry Fee is Rs. 100/- for those qualifying on the basis of Rating or Seeding and Rs. 1200/- for donor entries.
- To be eligible to play in this Championship, the player must be either a donor/life member or must have paid his subscription up to 31 December 2007. Applications along with the requisite fee and subscription (if not already paid) must be sent by Registered Post so as to reach the Hon. Secretary, Shri E.G.Meherhomji before 1 May 2006.
- From the requests received, the top 12 players according to rating on 1 January 2006 (as published in this Bulletin and subject to any correction) will be selected. The Secretary will inform them and follow up by Registered Post if required.
- The entry fee of Rs. 100/- will be refunded to those who are not selected.
- The current AICCF Champion, S.K.Somani is directly qualified to play in this championship and he can send his entry by 1 May 2006 along with the fee of Rs. 100/-. In case he does not opt to play, the next highest rated applicant will be selected.
- Two places are reserved for donor entries. Donor/Life members or those who have paid the subscription up to 31 December 2007, can make an application to play as a donor entry by paying Rs. 1200/- to All India Correspondence Chess Federation latest by 1 May 2006. If more than 2 donor entry applications are received, 2 will be selected in the following order of preference: (a) Donor Member (b) Life Member (c) Rating as on 1 January 2006 (d) Draw of lots. The Secretary will refund Rs. 1200/- to applicants thus eliminated.
- If there are less than 2 applications for Donor entries, the next eligible player(s) on the basis of Rating will be included.
- If less than 15 players apply, such lesser number shall constitute the field.
- The winner of this Championship will be seeded for the Championship starting after this Championship is over.
- The AICCF Tournament Rules shall apply. The games will be AICCF and ICCF rated. At the conclusion of the Championship, ties if any, will be resolved in the following order: (a) FIDE tie breaking system (b) Results of the tied players against each other (c) Player who has scored more wins (d) Players who scored more wins with Black pieces (e) Toss of coin.
- This is a postal tournament, however opponents can mutually agree to play by email after informing the TD. In such a case the time limit will be 60 days per 10 moves.
- As soon as a game is over, both players must send the result to the TD and the game score must be sent in full to the Bulletin Editor by email or postal mail.
