Game #2: vs. Rebels

It was a sad night for the House Hawks tonight as they were embarassed at the hands of the Rebels. This was a terrible showing by the Hawks. Nobody got anything going, and it was apparent, right from the opening 2:00 of the game, that the Rebels were out for a win. The only player that really did good was #18 Brook Szabo, and a solid effort in net by Jake Sawa. Other than that, it was terrible. Even the Hawks own fans said it was brutal. Click here for an article about a slump that Curtis Cameron and Greg Klein are in right now.

Before the game, the team tried to get pumped up by using catch-phrases and throwing around garbage cans. This was all just for not, as the Hawks weren't ready to do battle on this night.

The following is a summary of all Hawks goals, in the 9-3 loss. You can check out the Game #1 summary when the Hawks took on the Stars here. But here is the goal summary of tonight's game:

1. Greg Klein walked into the zone with 3 Rebels at his back hacking away at his stick. Yet still, with aggressive stick-handling, and sheer determination, Klein went in, did the Final Countdown, and the puck slid into the net. 5-1 Rebels

2. Another goal! This time Steve Eisler put one home on two excellent passes from Brook Szabo and Matthew Stone, who has been on fire here in the playoffs. 7-2 Rebels

3. The Hawks 3rd and final goal on the night was scored by Brook Szabo as he converted on passes from Greg Klein and Matthew Endsin. Rebels goalie, Matt Mazer was sprawling around on the ice, looking for the puck, and Brook just shot it easily into the open net. 8-3 Rebels

Overall, a sad showing. At the end of the game with 2:52 remaining in the game, Greg Klein and Curtis Cameron were kicked out of the game. One might wonder why, seeing as Greg cleanly hit #5 of the Rebels, and since it was a little after the whistle, he was kicked out. Curtis was kicked out for banging his stick on the ice in happiness? Someone must phone the league about this. Go to Hockey Regina Inc. and e-mail the league, for hiring such terrible officials.
