Game 1 - Blackhawks 10 - Sharks 0
They picked up were they left off last season, winning their 10th consecutive game with a 10-0 trouncing of the Sharks. This season should be interesting because there are 4 new players on the team. It's up to the veterans to show them the way.

The captain, Alan Barnstead started the game off with a blast from the blue line. Steven Alfano who had a career game scored the first of his three goals from a great pass from Zak Piccoline. Steven Alfano had 3 goals and 3 assist for the game. Nicky Micciulli scored on a dek after a Steven Alfano pass. John "the rocket" Talamo scored his first of the season which was unassisted.

Zak Piccoline, Matt Gumina, Sean Daudelin were the other goal scorers. Tyler Belostock has improved so much that it's great to watch him play.

Good luck to our new teammates, John Talamo, Matty Gumina, Brian Argenzio, and Jeff Lewis. All of them had a terrific first game.

The Blackhawks defense held the Sharks to 2 shots during the game.

Good luck next week guys.

Game 2 - Blackhawks 5 - Jaguars 3

Zak Piccoline and Ralph Mazzoni were the stars of the game. Zak played with desire and all out hustle. On one play he outskated the whole Jaguar team to a loss puck and scored. Ralph stopped 14 shots in goal. Ralph has been sensational and he has the determination to succeed and be a great goalie.

The BlackHawks outshot the Jaguars 24-14. Overall the team outplayed the Jaguars on both sides and the results showed. This team has sacrificed personal goals to learn how to play an overall team style and sportsman ship. Congrats to our parents for being supportive of our kids and coaches. Only good things await all.

The team is playing with alot of confidence. They seem to understand what it's like to play and win as a team. Ralph Mazzoni has been improving game by game as the goalie. He comes prepared to games and practice and is going to be tough to beat.

Brian Argenzio is also showing improvement almost scored on two chippy's in front of the net.

Game 4 - Blackhawks 7 - Devils 0
Did anyone on the team try to steal a Devils player and not tell us? Even though most of our players are often recruited by other teams, you know we don't steal active players off a team.

The Blackhawks remain undefeated in four games and extended their winning streak to 13 in a row with an 8 – 0 victory over the Devils. With last week off, they started out slowly and the first period ended with the score tied 0 – 0. But in the second period, the Blackhawks took control of the game for good. Alan Barnstead was the star of the game, and started the scoring with a wrist shot from the slot. He added 2 more and went on to post his first Blackhawks career hat trick. Steven Alfano added 2 goals and 2 assists, and Zak Piccoline notched 1 goal and 1 assist.

Matty Gumina and Timmy Johnson scored 1 goal each, and Brian Argenzio added 1 assist to complete the scoring. The Blackhawks out-shot the Devils 30 to 8 and played almost the entire game in the Devils’ zone. The defense was smothering, and the offense controlled the puck all game long.

Sean Daudelin, Nicky Micciulli, Jeff Lewis and Tyler Belostock all had terrific games and were a big part of this win. Ralph Mazzoni was perfect in net stopping all 8 shots he faced, and registered his third shutout of the season.

Game 10 - Championship game
Blackhawks 4 - Jaguars 3
They did it again, their second straight undefeated season and championship. This has been an incredible story for this bunch of 8 year olds. In four seasons they've complied a 33-6-2 record, two straight championships and undefeated seasons.

It wasn't easy getting there but they have an advantage over all other teams because they have learned to play as a team, they hustle and have learned to play discipline hockey.

They faced the 2nd place Jaguars who are a great team. The Jaguars jumped out in front on a shot by Mike Leiro from the left side. The Blackhawks were ready and fought right back on a beautiful assist from John "the Rocket" Talamo to Matty Gumina for the one timer to tie it at one. A few minutes later Nicky Micciulli, last seasons assist leader dished a pass to the Rocket to put them up 2-1 to end the first period.

Alan Barnstead who has made incredible sacrifices to become one of the best defensive players in any league blasted a shot past the Jaguars goalie to make it 3-1. Johnny "The Rocket" scored on a great move to make it 4-1 which is the lead they held for most of the game.

Congratulations to the defense, lead by Sean Duadelin, Zak Piccoline, Alan Barnsted and Steven Alfano who stepped up and shut down the high powered Jaguar offense.

The Jaguars scored twice at the end of the game to make it 4-3 with 32 seconds left but the Blackhawks "D" got tough and stopped another rally to win the championship.

Congratulations to the Jaguars for a great game and to the Blackhawk kids, Nicky Micciulli, Ralph Mazzoni, Zak Piccoline, Tyler Blelostock, Timmy Johnson, Alan Barnstead, John Talamo, Jeff Lewis, Brian Argenzio, Matty Gumina, Steven Alfano and Sean Duadelin for their accomplishments.

Congratulations again 8-year-olds. You guys have become a tremendousy talented team. We look forward to your continued support and success as you climb the ladder to the older Blackhawk teams......Frank Heslin
