In all fairness to the blackhawks, they had 3 weeks off in between games and it showed. Better luck next game.
Good luck to Timmy Johnson who is recovering from an operation.
The Blackhawks played their best game in their 2nd season of play with a highly competative battle in the first round of the playoffs with a 4-2 victory. This was a fans delight watching as the players on both teams played their hearts out.
The Little hawks defense was especially noticable controlling the puck and contesting most of the Jaguar shots. Thanks for the hustle lead by Alan Barnstead, Sean Daudlin, Anthony Mastronardi and Ralph Mazzoni. Offensivly Joe Estens, Marc Moskowitz, Steven Alfano, Travis Mascitelli, Tyler Belostock, Tim Johnson, Mark Powell, and Zak Piccoline stepped up and played the game of their lives to assure the victory.
Jonathan King who has played well in recent games was incredible making save after save.
Good luck in the Finals!!

If not for a three minute lapse near the end of the second period where the Hurricanes scored three quick goals, this game was even. I don't know who scored, and I am only learning the players names, but I must say I was impressed with many of them. I look forward to them moving up the ladder to the 10-U, 12-U and 14-U team. I just restarted out 14-U team last week with the intention of watching these players move up the Blackhawks ladder. I can't wait for these kids.
Congratulations on a great season Blackhawks and good luck next season.

Each and every Blackhawk stepped it up a notch. It's amazing how
far the team has come in two short season. At this level there
is no group of kids that plays better as a team than we do. The
players are starting to learn to be unselfish. Now if some of the
parents can be the same way then this coach would be really
happy.
Alan Barnstead, Sean Daudelin, Zak Piccoline and Anthony
Mastronardi showed their muscle and took the two super stars out
of their. Especially the borad street bully type hit from Alan on
Rivera which might have shaken up and out.
Travis Mascitelli played an inspired game with several offensive
scoring chances. Marc Moskowitz who has been the team leader in
just about every offensive category this seasn was just
incredible controlling the pace of the game with his intelligence
and stick handling. Joe Estenes and Marc worked out to be
productive on teh same line.
Steven Alfano, probably one of the most improved players this
season, Nicky Micciulli, Tyler Belostock and Tim Johnson
contributed in so many way's to the teams success.
Good Luck in the future and one hell of a season. Thanks Guys.
After 2 seasons, I finally had the chance to see the 8-U team play. I regret not having come out to see these kids play before. It has been a long time since I dealt with hockey players this young and I forget how fun they can be to watch. The players on this team really can play hockey. I was thrilled watching them. Even more pleasing was seeing them play such a great game. Based on the reviews I have heard about the Hurricanes, and the fact that they have a player that is incredible, big, fast and he NEVER sits, I was only hoping for the best. Prior to the game, Coach Ed told me he "hoped to improve on past performances againt this team". And improve they did. The game was close going end to end repeatedly. The Defense of both teams was specatular and the Blackhawks goalie was like a brick wall. Not a lot of shots were taken, but he was there to stop the ones that were taken.
The 8u Blackhawks put on a great show and earned big time respect
from the players and fans as they lost to the heavely favored
Huricanes 5 -2 in their first championship game. After previously
getting blown out the first 3 games, the Blackhawks concentrated
on the two big guns and held their team to 20 shots. Jonathan
King had his best game of his blackhawk career stopping 15 shots
on goal.
