Game 1 - Blackhawks 4 - Sharks 2
The Blackhawks got revenge on the Sharks who knocked them out of the playoffs two seasons ago. With only nine skaters available, everyone stepped up an contributed to this 4-2 victory including a GREAT Game bu the youngest player on the team, Nicholas Micciulli who had 2 assist and the game winner for a goal.

Steve Alfano got the team off to a 1-0 lead directing a pass from Nicky in the slot to score. Marc Moskowitz who has developed an all around game scored to make it 2-0 but the Sharks wouldn't go away and cut the lead in half. Nicky scored to make it 3-1 and back came the Sharks 3-2. Travis Mascitelli who has made a complete turnaraound with his play, ice'd the game for a 4-2 win.

Anthony Mastronardi played another strong game temaed up with Marc Moskowitz to break up broke up several Shark breaks. Tyler Belostock, Mark Powell, Travis, Joe Schoenenberger and Alan Barnstead played well.

This was the first game for Ralph Mazzoni in goal and did a great job stopping 8 shots.

Game 2 - Blackhawks 16 - Yellow Jackets 0 They did it again. 16-0 over the Yellow Jackets for their 2nd victory of the season. The game was highlighted by Tyler Belostock getting his first goal of his career. Ralph Mazonni recorded his second shutout in net.

The defense was incredible giving up only one shot. Rumor has it that the Yellow Jackets are made up of some Hurricanes and this was a payback.

Some of the stars of the game were Steven Alfano, Travis Mascitelli, Alan Barnstead, Timmy Johnson, Joey Schoenenberger, Anthony Mastronardi, Mark Powell and birthday boy, Nicky Micciulli who has turned into an all around player must have taken lessons from his buddy Marc Moskowitz.

Another rumor has it that the Jaguars who were scheduled to play the Blackhawks moved to a different state. We'll see.

Game 3 - Blackhawks ? - Yellow Jackets 0
The Blackhawks are off to there best start in the history with a 4-0 mark. This was an incredible game to watch and see how unselfish this team is gotten. They are starting to think pass first which leads to more scoring opportunities.

Tyler Belostock & Tim Johnson were some of the stars this day each getting 2 goals and 1 assist. Even though there was not much pressure from the Yellow Jackets, The Blackhawks executed their game plan to perfection.

There next game should be an interesting one against the Jaguars. Good luck team.

Did we mention how great they look in their new jerseys?

Game 5 - Blackhawks 8 - Jaguars 2
The Blackhawks defeated the Jaquars 8-2 with another TEAM effort. Ralph Mazzoni was increadable in the goal stoping 10 of 12 shots. We are starting to get great play from our defense made up of Joe Schoenenberger, Anthony Mastronardi, Alan Barnstead and Sean Daudelin. The offense has been consistant all year with the 2 youngest players, Nicky Micciulli & Mark Powell each getting 1 goal & 1 assist. The biggest surprise this season has to be Travis Mascitelli who had 2 goals. He is starting to learn to use his strenght and size to dominate the games.

Marc Moskowitz & Zak Piccoline each chippe din with 2 goals. Tim Johnson also has shown great improvement recently along with Steven Alfano and Tyler Belostock.

Good luck against the Sharks.

Playoff game 1 - Blackhawks 11 - Yellow Jackets 1

The team seems to be ready for their second straight championship try as they prepare for the much improved Jaguars lead by Robert Santullo. This will be the biggest game for the young Hawks in their three seasons of play.

Tim Johnson, Travis Mascitelli, Nicky Micciulli, Zak Piccoline, Tyler Belostock and Nicky Micciulli continune to improve big time each and every game.

Best of luck in the championship game.

Championship game, Blackhawks 5 - Jaguars 0
After 3 seasons of playing together, the Blackhawks finally won the 8u championship finishing their first undefeated season. They played a hard fought game against a gutsy Jaguar team and shut them out 5 - 0. Alan Barnstead opened the contest with the game winning goal followed by Mark Moskowitz who scored a hat trick. The jaguars were keying on Mark, but he used his skating ability to break free from their defense and score.

The kids had a great season and improved every game. They were sparked by their new goalie, Ralph Mazzoni, who had only given up 6 goals in 9 games.

In their three seasons they have posted a 23 - 6 - 2 record. Way to go!!!!

What was incredible about this victory was they killed 4 power play attempts by the Jaguars. Great job, Zak Piccoline, Alan Barnstead, Anthony Mastronardi, Mark Moskowitz, and Sean Daudelin for your efforts.

Key contributors to this game and season were Tim Johnson, Joe Schoenberger, Travis Mascitelli, Mark Powell, Steven Alfano, Tyler Belostock and Nicky Micciulli.

Everyone on this team worked hard in the practices this season and the sacrifice pay'd off. Big time imporved players were Tyler Belostock, Steven Alfano , Travis Mascitelli, and Nicky Micciulli

Acknowledgments: Nicky Micciulli was awarded for leading the team in assist this season. He had more assist than the Yellow Jackets and Sharks together. Congratulations Nicky.

Alan Barnstead has been named team captain. Way to go Big Al.

Anthony Mastronardi & Travis Mascitelli were given Blackhawk service awards. They will now be playing for the 10u Blackhawks.

Marc Moskowitz was rewarded for leading the league in scoring for the second time in three seasons. Good job Mark.

Best of luck to Mark Powell for making the Brick traveling tournament team. He will not be returning next season.

The 8-U Blackhawks played in the Turkey Hunt tournament over Thanksgiving weekend. Here is their review.

8u results The little Hawks finished in 2nd place behind a powerfull Wave team from Toms River. For most of the players, it was their 3rd tournament and they played well. The Wave team was made up of players that were slightly older that our team with made the difference. It was nice to watch the Wave execute their offense since they had more experience playing in tournaments.

The BlackHawks got some great goaltending from Jonatan King. Mark Powell, Mark Moskowitz, Nicky Micciulli, Steven Alfano, Anthony Mastronardi, Anthony Stahl, Alan Barnstead Sean Daudelin & Zak Piccoline played incredible and seemed to step it up when the team need to win. Hopefully the kids had fun and gained valuable experience.
