Since I've been a LOYAL METS FAN, I'll never be a Yankees fan, I've lived in Maryland, Kansas City, and now Pennsylvania, and although I've gone to Baltimore Orioles games, and Kansas City Royals Games, & "Rooted for the home team", I'll never give up following the Mets.

      As fate would have it I was at the July 4th Kansas City Royals game back in 1992, and while the game was in a rain delay, I was fortunate enough to see the METS play on the Jumbotron, or whatever they call it out there, and a guy by the name of Tom Filer was pitching. After the game was called by rain, I went home to call my best friend and another HUGE METS fan, Cliff (ZEKE) Zier to ask him, "Who's Tom Filer?".

      Some of my fondest memories of the METS were of course in 1986, I was in Karlesrhue, West Germany serving in the US Army, during that Magical Year. I picked up the Stars & Stripes Newspaper every day to see how the METS were doing. Most don't remember the 2-3 start the METS had that year before rattling off 11 wins in a row, & never looking back. I was on a mountain in Bremahaven in two feet of snow, listen to the 7th game of the World Series on Armed Forces Radio while on Guard Duty. When I came down to wake my Company, I said, It's 0600, all is well and the New York Mets are the 1986 World Champions of Baseball!!
