Farewell Assembly was held on 15 October 1999, shortly after the Promotional and Preliminary Examinations for the Year Ones and the Year Twos respectively. By the time the school had assembled in the hall, they were greeted by strings of colourful balloons hanging overhead. The program for the farewell assembly then commenced with an inspiring speech by the guest-of-honour, followed by a performance put up by the faculty captains. The Year Twos were also presented with gifts from their juniors, and the official event ended with the singing of Auld Lang Syne. Despite being a minor event in the school calendar, Farewell Assembly marks a very important day in the life of every Victorian, for it is the last day where all of them actually gather as a cohort and mingle with their friends. It is indeed a day not to be missed! |
