Letters of interest!

Letters regarding many different political matters.

August 1995 - Letter to USA Today concerning an article they did on Shanon Faulker, the overweight female cadet who resigned from the Citadel on her 3rd day.

September 1995 - Letter to a local journalist, who wasted a lot of paper decrying the actions of a certain new Republican Judge, who saw fit to call a female attorney who's blouse was unbuttoned well down her chest, into her chambers and pull her blouse together. For this, she was sued by the attorney, only to have the case thrown out with prejudice.

May 1996 - Letter to a local columnist adding my thoughts to a column he wrote about the debate over a minimum wage hike.

July 1996 - Humorously sacrcastic letter to President Clinton, reminding him how silly it is for him (of all people!) to be critical of tobacco growers.

July 1996 - Letter to Newsweek Magazine expressing my disgust at an idea being floated around the state of California; Charging criminals for room and board while they are incarcerated.

November 1996 - Letter to John J. Sweeny, head of the AFL-CIO. This letter was sent in response to the AFL-CIO's "voter education" adds, which were actualy "voter misinformation" adds.

January 1997 - Letter to Pete King , New York Republican who, angered at the leadership of Newt Gingrich, Dick Armey, and Trent Lott (all 3 are southerners), stated that the Republican agenda was "southern" and "anit-union", which only appealed to "hillbillies at revival meetings".

March 1997 - Letter to Robert D. Raiford commentator (and self described 'curmudgeon at large) on The John Boy and Billy Big Show concerning that oft-disputed symbol of Southern Heritage, the Confederate Flag.

March 1997 - Letter to Bob Barr voicing my support for his efforts to seek articles of impeachment against Bill Clinton.

August 1997 - Letter to Jesse Helms and Lauch Faircloth, North Carolina Senators, expressing my disgust at some of Attorney General Janet "Butch" Reno's remarks.

August 1997 - Letter to Congressman Bob Etheridge asking him to stand against Socialist Sarah Brady and the gun- control crowd (never an easy task for a Democrat).

August 1997 - Letter to Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich asking him to show support for HR1009, which would overturn the Lautenberg Gun Ban.
