Dear Mr. Speaker,
Do you want America to become a socialist country? Are you in agreement with Sarah Brady, Chair of Handgun Control Inc, who wants to create, by force and deceit, a socialist country over the resistance of it's citizens?
Neither do I, but apparently, there are influential people in Washington D.C. who DO want this to happen. While lobbying Senator Howard Metzenbaum, Mrs. Brady said that "Our main agenda is to have ALL guns banned. We must use whatever means possible. It doesn't matter if you have to distort facts or even lie. Our task of creating a Socialist America can only succeed when those who would resist us have been totally disarmed." (her remarks were reported in the January 94 issue of THE NATIONAL EDUCATOR). I doubt if her remarks would alarm Senator Dianne Feinstien, who, after the semi-auto weapons passed congress, said "...this is a good start. If I had enough votes it would have been turn them in Mr. and Ms. America."
In the past few years, there have been many threats against the rights of gun owners, such as the Brady Bill, the Lautenberg Gun Ban, the Juvenile Crime Bill, the Gun Free Zones Act, and of course the 1994 Crime Bill, all of which take steps toward disarming peaceful, law abiding Americans, and do precious little to stop the cycle of violent criminal offenders. I used to wonder why the gun control crowd couldn't seem to understand that crime always increases in areas where the strictest gun control laws are found, but now I realize that this is because crime control has never been the true focus of these people. The facts are not relevant to people like Sarah Brady and Dianne Feinstien.
There is currently a bill in Congress, HR1009, which would repeal section 658 of Public Law 104-208, commonly referred to as the Lautenberg amendment. This bill, which will restore some of our Second Amendment and Tenth Amendment rights, needs the support of an influential person such as yourself if it is to pass.
Please show your support for HR1009!
Sincerely,
John E. Morales
