THE CHIP & RUN SHOTHere is a tip that might help you get up and down from the rough. Rather than trying to hit a high flop shot - hit a little chip and run.Step 1: The first step is to put the ball back in your stance. This will allow you to hit the ball first instead of the grass. Resulting in better control of the ball. Step 2: The second thing is to move your hands forward. Leading the downswing with your hands will deloft the club, minimizing wrist action which can result in either a "fat" shot or a lofted shot that prevented the ball from running out. Step 3: The final step is to make sure the club face is slightly closed, this will deloft the club. Closing the blade will allow the ball release to the hole. The shot will be a lot lower but will roll out to the hole. Wozza's shot finished up pretty close with the camera on him, good on ya WOZ!!!! |
