Friends and Family are the mortar of life - they keep the stones of our actions, will and ethics together. I couldn't get by without my friends.

My best friend is Joanne... my partner, my companion, my lover, my alter-ego. Do you believe in reincarnation? I do - my relationship with Joanne is proof to me that we've been together before. Joanne and I met a week after I moved from California to Illinois in '92. We met at an SCA event, where her son, Jim, introduced us. We started dating, and eventually started sharing an apartment a few months later. We were married on July 16th, 1994, in high SCA style. The photo at the left is from the wedding (Joanne sewed the outfits). We have a great relationship, where we can be together - yet still be individual people.

My recommendation to all my love-loren friends "Find your mate doing what you love." -- and it's true. If you really think you can meet your mate in a bar, then you need to start going to AA meetings! You need to share your passions with your mate - sharing an avocation like a hobby or sport goes a long way toward filtering out incompatible people.

Lisa's Photo My daughters, Lisa (shown at left in '95) and Sandy (right) are a great light in my life. I've got some great kids. They live in Lucedale, Mississippi. Lisa is very fond of horses, Sandy likes smaller beasts like cats and rabbits. They're both Taurian sun-signs (Lisa 5/1, Sandy 5/18). Lisa plays the flute. Sandy is an artist. Sandy's Photo

My extended family includes my Dad, Sister, Brother and Cousins. Here's a photo of most of us at our wedding.

I've gotten a few really good friends from e-mail. Jypzee, Mel, Isabel - I'm talking about you three. I've been graced with warm, intelligent, insightful, giving, relationships with all three of them - and without meeting face-to-face. How did I make friends on-line? By honest discussion on topics that are important to me. This seed was then nurtured through regular communication, eventually blossoming into a wonderful friendship. We exchange messages, gifts, Holiday cards - all the things "old friends" do to support each other.

My oldest friends are Cindy and Steve & Jeri. I've know all of them since High School or my early, drunken college days. Cindy's in Georgia these days - Steve & Jeri both work for Adolph Coors, Inc. in Golden, Colorado.

Tim is a good friend from work. Check out his Web Page - it's a cool view of life in Guam!

Joanne and I have lots of friends we've made through the Society for Creative Anachronism - a group that re-creates the European Middle Ages. Those folks will show up in some of our photos in the Recreation Page (see below).
