THE DEAD WEPT
O black body, when you’ll sleep
deep in the fecund Earth’s forgetful dark embrace;
when granite marked headstone will state your address -
home, a sparse 4 concrete walled studio in the tenements of gloom;

and, when the dirt rests on your pulled over, unarmed perforated chest,
and, on your compressed straight, rigormortis body, no longer lythe and graceful,
crushing your will, and silencing your heart;
and, chaining your feet, stopping cold their adventurous course;

 then, the deep grave, like me a depository of thoughts and experiences –
the Willamette Valley covered with flowers, a valley full of birds, a valley
      drowned in rivers,
the florid, arian, and locustrine valley full of experiences growing up that make a life,
they’ll yield interest during long nights when you’re farther away than  distant quasars,

you’ll think: ”they didn’t understand
the importance of freedom and reason, to attain wisdom and true happiness.”
The dead wept over your grave, for you who died striving to be a man,
and like regret for not living, your face erupts with worms.

        MEDIOCRITY
Filthy coverlet over a mire-mattress is the accommodations
under the neon signed hag, in a clot of blood
the nightmare lying Vestal crucified with her curse
the full-faced, pock marked lunar man.

Faggot burning George’s expressionless hard boiled egg,
a symbol beyond worn words knocking together
devoid of soul, disembodied ghostly, unguided toward nothing
it plummets straight down, they the flowers of darkness.

Hatched stillborn with a hogshead of grapes blood to swill
he lords it, navel stapled unattached to the silence
that rises above the groans; but, at the cost of needle stitched skin
harlot harpies purchase with each luminous white leg.

        THE MOCKINGBIRD SANG
In a garden by the sea, a mockingbird sang to its love, the seasons first rose,
    “Bud of the dew drenched dawn, humbly bow down your head!
In beauty beside this vast blue sea that you now show,
    others have shown, before embarking for eternity.”  It replied,
The fact that life is short, and already on the wing doesn’t disturb me; but, what
a curious way to win a heart,
my love.  What’s awful is the terrible inner dullness that before it starts
    life becomes moribund, rigormortis sets in, and were already dead.”

The clouds will be my home,
    where true love lives divinely free for those who strive
to spread their wings and soar above our communal tomb.
    And you, if you would, could shake the dust off  your wings and rise where life
is higher than storms and beyond rainbows, to where full lives end to soon;
where radiant stars play hide-and-go-seek with an amazing luminous moon,
    while I humbly throw myself down at God’s feet.

Last night, the Earth softly spoke, with its multiple tongues, while the magic garden slept.
    The sea’s gray mists wove a web about the fragrant hyacinths and curled
about the daphne, while by the closed doors of tormented souls the early morning breeze
                                          quietly crept.
    Where is the bubble kept of the superannuated image of the World?
“Ah sweetheart, while you slept my poor aching heart wept,” I cried,
over the needless torture and myriad miseries caused by ignorance.
    See how they stumble, through the ruins of their desolate universe,
      blind and decrepit.

Words of wisdom never pass from their lips, and far from the Love of Truth resides,
    high above ravaged hopes on remote peaks.
Oh Margy, come here!  The curse of their cruelty afflicts their pathetic lives,
    too; with the crash of doom they die, and, as ghostly grotesques
    these shadows seek
their distorted extremist forms among tombstone days where they fall into the endless
            Abyss of time,
while we, with patience and wisdom, fly over the infinite sea of tears from their crimes.
    Unfortunately, they can’t stop, nor hide their infamy from prying eyes.

        AN EVENT AT HEAVEN’S GATE
St. Michael and Gabriel stand at Heaven’s gate,
where each of the 12 tribes has an angel who also waits,
Gabriel calls to a new arrival, “What news
have you brought from Earth that erratic wandering star?”
Swift as thought, the eagerly sought news traveled eternally far;
and, set Heaven’s bells ringing – for it was true!

And, instantly everyone knew,
As choirs sang and organs sounded, harps plucked and trumpets blew,
And, golden streets festively arrayed became even more radiant
sing one and all    hallelujah, at the glad tidings
the streets surged with wondrous and varied throngs, everywhere confiding
what all knew to be true and so proceeded joyously and confident.

An Avatar said, what all were thinking, “For ever and a day we prayed
for this hour to occur.  Till many secretly were afraid.
But, now all our prayers are answered.
From blue sapphired Earth, we’ve come a long way;
and, now numb and cold its body is bluish gray
a cave for a grave, of the Lord who came to serve.

Quick as a wink a riant christening processional is formed,
and while great legions of jocular angels unite to greet the newly born
Paradise empties, and is left more deserted than a ghost town,
while merry music from the celestial wake is heard
and with reams of laughter and gales of glee they arrive at Earth,
where they are met with utter silence, not a single sound.

Beneath the beautiful star strewn skies
Earth darkly, like an extinguished fire, lies
colorless, beneath its rent veil of clouds
the angelic music falters and dies in mid refrain,
as showers of tears begin in a steady rain
and all the angels silently stand weeping wearing their dark shrouds.

At the somber sight of Mary grieving at the desolate tomb
they contritely crept up unseen in the dismal cold gloom;
and, with hushed whisperings, reflected at the Earth’s fleeting vainglorious existence;
 its many miseries and several immense sorrows,
they eagerly discussed its hates and strife, sicknesses and deaths till it was almost morrow
and wondered at life’s failings and deceits, conceits and hypocrisies and all its other
          inconsistencies.

Then, as dawn seeped in with its filtered light, they built an alter
that a sacrifice might be made, to atone for the World’s sins and when men faltered.
dirges were sang to accompanied adagios, the priestly mass
started to refrains of Requiems by unborn Mozart and Faure so exquisite and refined,
while holy water was sprinkled in a moment that was sublime.
But, an archangel’s presence was required – fast!

The Archangel hurried to the scene to see how things stood,
and, reflected over the sacred sprinkle, thought that maybe he understood,
what the sorry meaning was to all of this.
The Archangel silently stared with a sad expression of infinite compassion,
As the water hung in mid air and refused to touch the Earth’s dirt with great agitation.
For the wise celestial spirit knew why the water refused to fall and so hung and hissed.

The holy water from Heaven couldn’t find a single spot,
On the entire wicked and weary World, that had not
been over the many worn centuries contaminated.
And, God’s emissary said: ”It’s a shame, but I see,
there is not a spot left on Earth that’s free:
from the bane of tyranny’s rancorous blaspheme and murderous hatred.

        SUNDAY’S BEST
The child who is dressed in their Sunday best;
and either, has a suit, dress shirt, and tie; or, a pretty dress and purse
can’t relax and enjoy themselves at play;
their clothes oppress them at every turn.

Because, fear of tearing their fine apparel
and apprehension at getting their good clothes dirty
builds a barrier between them and the World
and they hold themselves rigid, like someone with rigormotis.

Parents, its no blessing to dress your child so fine,
if it locks them in an elegant prison;
it shuts them off from getting dirty in healthy play,
and it robs the children of participating in the great play of life.

        PRIMORDIAL TIDE
My love she lives in streams of pure light,
loved of the time of flowers.
Alone among the thronging crowds,
the finest soul, you talk to me
of waters that flow in a great branching tree;
your voice soothes and gives solace
to the naked night,
with radiant racine pleasures.

Deluded by lies, and abandoned by beauty
left behind by every form of vanishing Truth.
The fleet flowing movement, stripped to raw feelings,
reflects internal raging fires.

But, from the primordial tides
of your deep dark blood,
slices like a sharp knife through everything,
yet somehow still remains detached,
the outside objective observer.

And, in another time,
wise and humane,
we’ll be reborn without pain
and free of sorrow.

        LEGACY OF TOMMORROW
Its early morn,
not yet light, its dark as depression.
A noise outside my window
half asleep, I hear its unidentified complaint,
in the empty sky all the stars
have vanished forever.
Finally, this is my hour.  I’m free at last –
my mind stretches to infinity,
it extends to my enemies,
they’re blindly groping toward a precipice,
I offer them my arm –

Or, traveling through mirror lined labyrinths,
vertiginous corridors only angels know,
I penetrate her room;
and, lacerate oblivion like a lazer,
my burned face becomes radiant,
its furrowed scars a symbol of Truth.

But, under its multi-layered manifold
the World sleeps so silently
that I can hear nocturnal animals sleep
an owl is cloaked in darkness,
its eyes two black coals
burning from the depths of a tree.

And, somewhere to the West the ocean dances,
its white mist floats above it
like the smoke from a sailor’s pipe,
when the sky was both map and compass;
a sailor whose coffin is finally held straight
before being buried.
A predawn shower
falls in a thousand glinting pieces
leaving dawn cold and clear,
and intensely happy like me.
Its fate is as brutal as my own.
Sharing another’s life: is extremely difficult,
as remote and isolated as my own.
Will my whole will
save even a single stalk, a single blade for me?

You who sleep around me,
you who miss, as dawn creeps across the landscape
annihilating night; this moment rises out of everything
beginning in a thin shrill sound, a wind beaten tree,
and spring sprouting from the Earth.
In return for my mercy,
I’m branded by this burning solitary hour –
leave your legacy of tomorrow’s darkness,
for me, alone.

        NIGHT OWLS
“Hey!  Move over so we can get warm, too”  “The only thing you haven’t done is lie over the grate!  This bozo has legs like an elephant.”

“It’s 3:00 A.M.!   The North-West wind’s bitter cold!  Do you know why, my owls, the moon is so bright?”  “No!”  “They’re burning the false mask of fools.”

“White as a spot light.”   “It looks like a freshly peeled apple for an apple pie!”  “When it first rose, didn’t the Harvest moon seem like a red glowing ember perfect for grilling steaks?”

“Hey!  My ears are frozen!”  “Who was that bastard that bound and murdered those girls?  You know he wasn’t acting alone.”  “How much you figure the radical right got paid for that horrific deed?”
“Do you see anything in the clouds?”  “Yes, a pistol.”  “And you George Le Curr?”  “A blind eye!”  “My shoes are smoking!”

“Make way for Mr. Smith!  There you are Mr. attorney Winter coat with fur color, fur lined gloves and a warm hat.”  “Clever fellows don’t get cold.”

“Here are the cops out walking the beat.”  Remember the kid killed sitting unarmed and unresisting in the car?  They say he was shot, when the radical right dealer narced him off
after selling him more than he could eat.”

“Yeah, the officer thought he’d resist arrest.  So, he got excited and plugged him, when he refused to get out of the car.  His partner was trying to drag him out, but, evidently the kid had already swallowed the evidence before being pulled over.  I guess the kid was acting weird and couldn’t move.”

And, it is in this way that an attorney home from Congress, who liked to go slumming, and some police officers, who walked the beat, rumored what corrupt exploits had happened to a fellow officer and got used to sharing the grate with the night indigents.

        GOOD KNIGHT
How easy the World is!
Everywhere everyone is in a somnolent state.
Those angry with life, those sad as an Autumn wind
I can make you happy.

Listen, while I tell you
about the brown eyed girl,
and the dim blueness of early morning
perforated with poems and light.

Listen: I’ll tell you, what needs
to be said, how life is growing narrower and narrower,
how empty life is around the heart, and
how sweet life is.

And, if you don’t understand;
or, refuse to;
and, you can cry about pain and sorrow,
shattered dreams and violent deaths.

        WITH YOU
Mists retreat from water, lifted by the trees
to disappear into nothingness
I felt all my many abilities
while you were near, but without you all was nothingness.

A park.  A chessboard of light and shadow,
and, you a fine sylvan nymph who whispers in my ear.
I see all things in multidimensional realities, and now
stretched off into infinities with you near.

Temples and Gothic Cathedrals; the log rhythms
of my thinking of you and me
extends.  During life’s strange transformations,
you are always here, what ever may be.

The burnished gold moon pales as it climbs.
A quarter inflation diminishes into a dime.
Midnight, moonlight castes its magical translucent light
I don’t fear death, with you holding me tight.

        CONSOLATION
Gay colored spinnakers are impregnated by a sly breeze,
as round the buoys they lean on light and reach for home;
tired of Winter long rains, the sleek glistening sailboats
glide effortlessly over drowned turgescent souls.

The return of the Odysseus,
searching for a passage;
discontinuous concentric cities, home
for fathers and husbands.

Now, nothings read, nothings thought, nothings felt;
newspapers, T.V., and internet provide all opinions
and supposedly fill the longing for lost dreams
during empty lemon Sun Sundays set in a sky hardening blue;

Hear
the Earth
whisper Abel;
echoed in every nocturnal bird’s cry.

This doesn’t bring peace.  The ancient phalanx
bringing tyranny out of order
in crescendoed greed
in a journey that never attains home port.

The World weary wanderer,
or, the one that stands and waits from shore;
both serve, slipping on shoes and tying knots;
since Troy expired in smoldering ruins.

And the black, blind poet heaved hexameters
In huge groundswells that heaved and hissed
as it approached the shore in a furrowed surf,
which lay in conclusions of exhausted flotsam.

Like Nature,
the beauty in classics can console;
but, unfortunately,
its not nearly enough.

RUMOR MILL

Children
    The number of people of solid understanding compared with the general population is smaller today than at any other time.  Few individuals have the ability to reason things out, to separate fact from emotion and ascertain probabilities about truth: consequently people are usually mistaken about that which motivates them.  This is the cause of so many mistaken opinions.
    The majority of arguments that transpires between individuals are caused from misunderstanding.  In addition to not understanding what they themselves believe, they do not carefully define their terms before proceeding with the discussion, and they don’t carefully establish parameters for the topic being considered.  This is the cause of most disagreements and their ensuing arguments.
    Today, the World is being over run by the radical right’s populist movement.  It used to claim that it was doing so for two reasons.  First, they believed that God directed their actions.  However, it was shown that they violated almost everything that was written in the Bible except certain obscure and ambiguous passages taken out of context, and God consistently didn’t support the type of tyranny and oppression that the radical right has come to represent.  Its hard to justify in a religious context slander, stealing, prostitution, perversion, extortion, fraud, family affairs, tyranny, rape and murder to name a few of the techniques employed by the radical right’s operatives; when the Bible repeatedly and expressly repudiates them, and the other immoral criminal behaviors the vice ridden and corrupt radical right have come to systematically embrace.  Second, the cry, because children need us, is frequently heard, to explain and justify the radical right’s iniquities.  But, what they really mean is the radical right need children, in order to excuse the iniquitous tyranny that they employ while oppressing society.  It helps make popular self serving delusions sustainable, while emotionalizing the issues.  The object is to emotionalize and confuse the issues, and prevent reason from prevailing; also, it enables the radical right to pretend to possess the moral high ground, while they engage in every vile morally degenerate behavior imaginable.  Unfortunately, after quietly admitting that they have blasphemously defied the Bible, the radical right have arrogantly continued to motivate people with vice (greed) and corruption, and excused it with an emotional (for the sake of children) excuse.  It has been successful.
           The radical right is successful for several reasons.  The radical right refuses open honest discussion.  You are either with them or against them.  Any person who holds an honest opinion contrary to what they deem acceptable is targeted and attacked, and without leadership opposition is difficult.  The radical right is extremely well funded, and it is organized like an army; it has been disparagingly characterized, as the Amway of terrorism. The employment of subliminal technologies makes attacking individual opponents and intimidating the general population very effective.  The utilization of intensive propaganda over extended periods of time has served to help shape public opinion, and it has enabled the radical right to be able to define the parameters of the debate on any issue.  The terrible events the radical rights have been responsible for, while hiding their involvement behind their hypocritical public statements about how horrible the events are have worked to the radical right’s perceived advantage.  But, they have created a profoundly negative consequence by undermining the individuals’ Civil Rights who constitute society.  The methods employed by the radical right could serve as a separate essay, if any reader is interested please refer to previous essays, which have covered this important and interesting topic; however, the topic of this essay is what are the radical right’s publicly stated motives.
    One is compelled to look at the radical right rational to see if it is reasonable and constitutes truth.  But, first, there are certain serious problems that one encounters, in trying to determine if what the radical right is doing represents correct human behavior.  The first, problem encountered is the inherent illogic of the claim that only one group can be for all children.  The next problem is that whenever a base self serving advantage, like greed, becomes involved, then common sense indicates altruistic explanations are invalidated.  And, the radical right is well paid for what has to be described as organized crime engaging in immoral criminal behaviors.  Another problem is the veil of secrecy which covers their actions, until people are subjected to a deliberate process of corruption they are not informed about the full extent of the actions of the radical right.  By deliberately hiding certain aspects of their involvement and subjecting people to a process of corruption the radical right tacitly acknowledges the improprieties and illegalities of their standard modes of behavior.  How can any objective reasonable analysis be conducted under such impossible circumstances.  And,  more important because we are discussing the potential abuse of power by extremist elements within society and the tremendous damage done to Democracies if left uncorrected, it becomes imperative that the Truth prevail.
    The radical right is quick to state that they are engaged in their actions because they love children.  However, one wonders, when they support the Republican Party, whose record on education is appalling.  First, they publicly offered a voucher based two tiered system, which provided 80% of our children with worse education.  The privileged 20% were to go to private schools at public expense, where they were to receive better instructions with better methods and materials.  But, it would obviously cost tax payers more money for duplication of programs and facilities and the loss of economies of scale that the smaller units represented.  Under the Republican Party’s last education plan the public was stuck with a worse education system that costs more money to operate.  And, the majority of our children were to be cursed with ignorance and a lack of education, which means poor paying jobs with no future.  The final effect is to temporarily enrich a few at the expense of an exploited and impoverished many.  If the Republicans think that the cost of education is expensive, wait and see how expensive the cost of ignorance will turn out to be.  The last Republican Party led effort to train American workers for new jobs was a complete dismal failure.  The radical right is busy supporting the Republican Party who are busy bankrupting the country with foreign wars, which enrich a few while leaving us with no money to educate all the children who now qualify for college.  What have the Republicans done to positively affect these difficult issues?  Nothing, after initially failing the Republicans evidently are hoping that the problems will go away, because in the four years that the Republicans have held the White House, they have done nothing to correct these issues.  During the same time the Democratic Party developed and passed an effective Education program, which was cost effective and benefited all students.  The Senator Wyden plan gave control of education to the local communities, while assuring that we the people received value for our taxpayer dollars and our children received an adequate education by establishing realistic standards and administering fair tests to make sure that they were met.  The difference in Education proposals demonstrates the difference between the two political parties.  The radical right backed Republican Party plan benefited a few by exploiting the many, the Democratic Party plan was superior because it cost effectively benefited everyone’s children.  It represented Democracy at its best, government by the people for the benefit of all its people.
The radical right claim that only they can be for children, and it is what motivates their behavior.  However, the parents of the radical right don’t do anything to learn about child development.  They are to busy trying to torture somebody in the mall, for daring to think and disagree with the radical right’s self serving form of corrupt tyranny.  It is obvious that good education would contribute infinitely more to the happiness of the children.  Why don’t they support better education instead of the Republican Plan which promoted ignorance?  Why don’t they even read the authors who are available on the subject?  The claim that the parent knows more than these learned men is obviously false.  It comes from being to lazy and indifferent.  Besides it doesn’t pay as well and is not as entertaining as making the scene in the stores and on the streets, where they engage in the deceit driven morally bankrupt behaviors that members of the radical right openly and brazenly embrace.  It is curious that if we are sick we seek advice from physicians, and if we want help building a house we seek an architect and then a contractor; these are the behaviors that are motivated by genuine interest.  But, with respect to children and their education, if you are not motivated in a like fashion it is because you don’t love them as much as yourself.  Finally, I watch the little ones who eagerly seek to torment some poor adult and wonder at the lack of judgment behind such behavior that places them in potential harms way.  I see efforts to prostitute them and reflect that it represents an effort to sexually abuse children.  The choices the radical right exhibit are based on lying and deceit.  They’re based on personal gain, where even ambition, which is supposed to be a virtue, is perverted into something that hurts people and is transformed into something vice ridden and base.  And, I understand that it is the sort of thing that happens under tyranny.
The children have come to be selfishly regarded as a means of extending oneself.  In some parents it is the vain appeal of a selfish person for immortality.  Rather, than seeing each child as a unique creation, a blessing from God who is given a life with its own Civil Rights soon to walk its own path.  The radical right views the child as an echo.  They love the thrill of command, and see the child as their own personal slave.  In the natural order of things the child leaves the parent when it is strong enough to fend for itself.  Today, under the rule of the radical right, society is a collection of sycophants who are never allowed the right to grow up into free and independent adults, who are the captains of their own fates.
There are the parents who use children as badges of social prestige.  You’ve seen them the “perfect” parent, who make their children their private play thing.  The loss of the toy would be inconsolable.  They would be utterly lost with out the child.  But, does it mean that they love the child for itself, rather than what it means for the parent?  Gone would be their social status.  Gone would be their own chief entertainment.  However, the parent who has not taken the trouble to know them self can not know what it is that they are grieving for.  And, that is the plain hard truth.  The parental role so many unctuously parade are, for so many, merely nothing more than warmly acted effect, either of a desire to perpetuate their way of life hence a vain claim for immortality, or a pride for command and the desire for authority, or the fear of a loss of social status, or, a loss of something to do.  These are the mistakes of devout fanatics and political extremists that to their ignorance and zeal owe their hatred against their targeted victims and the persecutions that they propagate against them.  It is not motivated by a desire for children.
A person will respond to the ideas presented in this essay in one of three ways, either they will support them, or they will disagree, or they will be indifferent.  The radical right has responded with extreme aversion, they have tried to subject its author to aversive circumstances including slander, in direct opposition to our Democratic ideals and in proud disdain of religion.  In a Democracy society is based on equality where all individuals have equal rights inclusive of but not exclusive to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.  The radical right try to coerce, corrupt and intimidate, and proceed in a way which indicates disagree with us if you dare.  Their efforts at slander are designed to assassinate their opponent’s character, because they do not have reason and right on their side.  If they did the slander would be unnecessary and superfluous.  In Christianity the Bible commands us to distrust ourselves and to love our neighbor, the fact that the radical right’s whole business is designed around developing pit falls which hurt people including themselves, proves that the radical right are inspired by pride and a blind lust for power.  It is generally laziness coupled with the fact that the radical right are wrong, which makes them averse to reason and the enemy of thought.  And, it is standard for any form of tyranny particularly that of the crowd, which makes them oppose opinions which can not be by legitimate means repudiated.  They try to make their bigoted biases the norms of society to be received in the media without study and the fatigue of mental effort; which would prove them to be a fabric of falsehoods that are contradictory to the  values of moderate Religion and substantive Democratic principals.  They contend that every thing that repudiates their beliefs can not be reconciled with either religious doctrines, or issues about public safety and stability.  They place themselves in the position of the inquisitors who believed that their subjective beliefs were infallible, and the World needed to be made safe from those who believed that the World was not flat or the Sun was the center of the Universe and not the Earth, and any one who disagreed was some how a dangerous heretic.  Why do extremists always claim that they are new, and then utilize the age old ploy of exposing their earnest opponents, whose ideas demonstrate the inadequacy of the extremists’ contradictions to the censor of hatred motivated persecutions?  Why do they think so little of their beliefs that they need the assistance of force and terror?  Don’t they realize that progress is a beneficial social characteristic that is injured when silence is imposed on individuals of genius, and mankind is deprived of the useful knowledge that the gifted individuals are capable of dispensing when left alone and allowed to function in a tolerant environment that is free and nurturing.
The radical right states its affinity for law and order.  But commands that it must do what ever it takes, which is not conservative but inherently extreme.  It has served as a rationale for all manor of immoral and criminal acts, while establishing a double standard which subsequently becomes a basis for corruption.  It is the sin of pride which is carried to an extreme which causes the bigot to hate the genius for repudiating their stridently held precious belief.  It is the basis of their antagonism against the genius.  Also, it causes the bigot to oppose the truths and not recognize the potential benefits obtainable to society from the disagreeable truths that are the byproducts of the work of genius.
It is the combination of laziness, ignorance and pride, which forms a formidable barrier by devout bigoted extremists.  All bigoted fanatics from any and every religion and all political “isms” operate the same way.  Recently, we have witnessed J.S. Mill’s claim that crowds generate the most virulent form of tyranny, even those functioning under empty forms of Democracy, substantiated.
In a tradition that extends back to antiquate, the radical right treat as criminals anyone who doesn’t immediately agree with their decisions.  They are lead into a mistake common to almost all humanity, where their factional interests are mistaken for the nations; and, they contend that to dissent from their advise is to rebel against society.  And, if you repudiate their spacious claims is to challenge the stability of society.  It is their belief that in disagreeing with them you are selfishly contesting the common good, even though they sacrifice the common good daily to their own factional interests in the name of avarice and greed.  Their propaganda is supposed to establish a generation of selfish individuals who reflect the behavior of special interests driven by selfish interests, one blind and indifferent to the evils experienced by society and generated by models of bad government.  The radical right’s support of the Republican Party’s incompetence and corruption, and the Republican efforts to confuse contemporary issues and cover up their role in current events represents an attempt to oppose effective government, and corresponding progress in society, and consequently the happiness of humanity.  It is the same arrogant pride, camouflaged as the public good, which causes them to persist in obvious mistakes, and authority should never relent.  But, if a country’s leaders and government are in error, is it wise to persist in pursuing folly?  And, if the radical right have provided bad counsel, then to speak the truth and reason, should not be opposed, as is currently the case; but, it should be encouraged so that our nation’s leaders may change course before the country experiences more harm, even if it exposes the fact that bad counsel was given.
Through out history there have been few people capable of such honesty.  How many individuals do you know who have the best intentions, but are dishonest because they do not know themselves.  They have not had the time required for serious introspection.  They have lacked true information.  They have been deliberately misled with misinformation.  They have not had positive examples to encourage this difficult task.  They have been discouraged by a society who encourages superficiality and views intelligence with suspicion.  It is no wonder that there are so few individuals with the perspicuity to penetrate their own as well as others heads and hearts.  In order to achieve this laudable goal a long time must be devoted to studying true knowledge of society and oneself.  The disciplined individual of  sound morals, who steadfast in their resolve has circumstances conspire to help them, is extremely rare.  The majority of mankind are ignorant that such an alternative even exists.  And, they need to find an occupation which will enable them to support themselves during their long period of development.  Further, the environment that they develop in is extremely important as any consideration of the question nature vs, nurture reveals, in the fact that it covers half of the debate.  Today, the radical right discourages discussion and openly attacks dissent, to hope that it will suddenly encourage reason and thinking is to deny the radical right a behavioral characteristic fundamental to their nature.  Tyranny almost never acknowledges errors let alone grievous ones, which is one of the reasons that tyranny never last.  In the interim it is unrealistic for the United States to expect any significant improvements brought on by changes within the radical right.  However, it is a correct goal to be actively worked towards, because who among us never makes mistakes.  The unfortunate position of the radical right prevents us from being able to learn from them.  It places America in a false position, which operates to the weaknesses within our Democratic system, rather than utilizing its strengths.
