But the night before was definitely worth it.
I, single handed, chased and caught four trees,
moved them and had such fun
that I then moved and entire suburb-
that's why I couldn't find it until early this A.M.,
when I finally got home.
Having two almost grown children
I am used to strange pets.
We've had them all, they rate
right up there with childhood diseases.
So I wasn't to surprised when I briefly saw
burrowing, with its short little legs,
beneath the living room rug
the furtive form of an Aardvark.
When I had given it a double take
it was gone.
Well its been that way now all day,
disappearing behind corners into bedrooms,
darting away after first a glance under furniture.
As son as the misses starts to talk
to me again I'll ask her when it arrived.
Until then, it isn't hurting anything,
I'll just relax and let it be.
THE RAIMENT OF GOD'S LOVE
My soul is the raiment of God's love,
my body's delights are God's gracious gifts.
How vain I am, to disdain both wealth and power;
yet, humbly I thank God, for his freely given bountiful blessings.
This wonderful temple, where my soul soars high,
is not a place of sin; I can not believe anything
other than God loves it, as he must love all the things
that generate joy and doesn't deny that right to others.
God swept past the Earth,
who was transformed into the colors and fragrance of Spring.
Three times blessed is this World;
first, for the eye of day; second, for the bliss of night;
and third, for the grace of consciousness:
that enables me to see God's love in everything.
THEY COME TO ME
They come to me in this midnight hour
burdened with pain and sorrow,
enduring the great evils which besiege them,
tripping and trapping, and stumbling and falling.
What do they want from me?
I have grown old and tired,
my body needs rest,
and my soul seeks the solace of solitude.
Don't they see
that their misery
pierces like a blade
my poor lacerated heart?!?
WHITE PETALS
Flurries of blossoms
fall, a blizzard at twilight-
sweet furtive moment.
A WALL OF NEGATION
you indolently parade by
exposing the foibles of power
arrogance, pride, corruption,
cruelty and self absorption.
I know you think
that you see me
standing invisible before you;
but, in fact you don't:
what you see is a mirror
reflecting your subjective reality.
The question becomes
how do I exist
after you break the glass?
HOW MANY HOMES
Hoe many homes
shoot craps in the stars
when the persecuted
plunge into the mystery?
How often do slumbering refrains
whisper in skein limbed foliage,
where wind's anguish penetrates,
while performing ancient birth rights?
Rent by lightening
phonemes thunder cavernously
sowing bitter harvests,
while God's first blessing
sweeps into the maelstrom
of a devouring introduction.
Tortured fate stumbles
over frozen features
finely etched with pain:
infinite is every fugitive moment
precariously perched
on radiant filaments of distance.
RUMOR MILL
Rumor Mill says it quotes a field operative, "a few at a time" in describing
the
profitable duo of double murders committed recently of couples in their
homes.
These events where camouflaged as being either double suicides or murder
suicides. However, the radical right are having trouble rationally
justifying
their domestic "social engineering". If they claim to be doing
God's will then
they run against God's axiom "Thou shalt not kill", to say nothing
of Christs
central precept of "Do unto others as ye shall have done unto you"
and the clear
statement that they are not forgiven who sin so that they then can
repent and be
saved. And to claim to be murdering others, while receiving $2,500
a head
(while evading their income taxes thus stealing from children as they
simultaneously cheating the rest of society) for the sake of children
becomes
absurd. This done during the same time frame that the radical
right are having
a 13 yr, old girl sexually abused and exploiting a small Cuban boy:
for
political purposes. The staged theatrical event in Florida was
crafted to win
the Cuban minority voting block. So what if a small boy is potentially
traumatized for life by being plunged, right after his mother dies,
into a
frightful incident. So what as long as the Cuban minority voting
block is won
for the up coming national elections for George jr.. So Rumor
Mill claims.
In the Portland area
rumor has it that the active radical right field
operatives potentially would have earned $12,500 of undeclared money
for 4
murders and a child abuse case. All within a very short time
frame. Who says
crime doesn't pay- so Rumor Mill says.
All of this is nothing new.
Historically religious fanatics justified their
atrocities and terror by pretending that God was cruel.
Today, fanatics justify their cruel and brutal behavior by saying it
is really
virtuous, because it is done for the sake of children: the same children
they've
been prostituting, raping, abusing and murdering.
Now one should pause and
ask why all this is being done? First, you have the
real reason- providing a pretence for oppression that distracts the
public,
while corrupting a politically valuable populist movement. Second,
it provides
an excuse for denying free will and self determination, by destroying
their
fellow citizens' civil rights. This they do while reserving the
right to think
and act exclusively for themselves. And, ironically, once these
civil rights
are stolen form society they will be denied to the children, too.
No one, of
course, has any right to disagree, that is unthinkable, let alone think
that
this is a bad idea! So Rumor Mill says.
The Rumor Mill suggests the following:
ELECTION ALERT
or
Measure For Measure
(OREGON)
MEASURE 77 - Amends the Constitution changing portions of certain local
districts' property tax authority from temporary to permanent.
The impact of
this measure is on only 3 counties, whose elected representatives from
both
parties support it. This is a perfect example why measure 79
ought to be
defeated. It would make correcting mistakes, unintentional or
otherwise, more
difficult for voters in the future.
MEASURE 78 - Amends the Constitution extending the time requirements
to verify
signatures on initiatives. If this is a problem why has neither
party addressed
it in the legislature? It seems as if measures are being presented
to the
public around certain issues designed to confuse the voters.
In this instance
Measure 79. By creating Measure 78 and running it just before
Measure 79 the
radical right hopes to frame the issue, making it seem as though there
are to
many measures and that to much active participation in Democratic processes
is
somehow a bad thing. The end objective will be to restrict citizens,
other than
the radical right, from being able to meaningfully participate in our
Democracy.
MEASURE 79 - Amends the Constitution increasing by 50% the number of
signatures
required to place an initiative amending the Constitution on the ballot.
This
is the proverbial wolf in sheep's clothing. In the past decade
the radical
right has inundated the initiative process trying to further their
private
political agenda,
while circumventing negative political fallout to their darlings in
the
Republican Party. Further, they confuse issues by clustering
initiatives that
function to frame the debate, and confuse the voters by overloading
them with
several correlative measures, which makes it more difficult to understand
all of
the initiatives during any given election. Finally, they have,
by using a shot
gun approach to the initiative process, made it extremely hard to finance
effective opposition to their large number of initiatives. However,
the cure to
Democracies' ills is not less Democracy: it is more Democracy!
Unfortunately, the radical
right has been extremely successful in their
endeavor to manipulate our Democratic processes and institutions.
Now they wish
to lock into place their mistakes. If we pass this initiative
then the monied
interests of the radical right will have an unfair advantage in gathering
signatures; because, they can afford to pay for enough signature gatherers
to
present their initiatives while their poorer political opponents will
not. It
will tend to exclude participation rather than promote it. One
wonders at the
sincerity of Sizemore's opposition, because he has always had ample
money to
pursue his many initiatives. Is he the radical right's red herring
designed to
throw progressive voters off their guard?
President Lincoln once said,
"You can fool all the people some of the time.
Some of the people all of the time. But you can't fool all of
the people all of
the time." Measure 79 prevents us from correcting those instances when
the
radical right is able to fool all of the people some of the time.
MEASURE 80 - Amend the Constitution authorizing the transfer of vehicle
fees and
gas tax from roads to state police. In an era of decreasing crime,
thanks to
the Democratic policies of President Clinton and Vice- President Gore,
which
have resulted in more police on the streets and full employment, is
it necessary
to take money away from improving infrastructure and alleviating congestion
(which will make roads safer) for more state police? And, if
we want more state
police, is this the best way to fund them?
MEASURE 81 - Amends the Constitution allowing the legislature to limit
recovery
for damages in civil actions. Do we really want politicians rather
than a jury
of our peers (not obligated to money interests to be elected) to make
an
impartial decision on damages we receive? The primary backers
for this measure
are the insurance companies. They claim that if initiatives of
this type are
not passed health care costs will rise. But, we already have
the right of legal
redress by a jury of our peers, so we are already paying for any costs
in this
regard. It is the only way we have of trying to protect ourselves
from the huge
private institutions that is the insurance industry. It is the
only leverage we
have when trying to encourage their subsidiaries the H.M.O.s to give
us decent
health care products instead of maximizing their profits. It
also protects us
from other instances of negligence i.e. cars that are poorly designed
so that
they become fire bombs when they were rear ended, or, toys that injured
children, or, poisons and carcinogens placed in our food. These
are real
examples of cases that have occurred. Why would we want to remove
"our" legal
safe guard that is the right of legal redress by a jury of our peers?
MEASURE 82 - Repeals the weight- mile tax. We need to provide
an adequate
revenue flow to maintain and develop roads. A weight- mile tax
for trucks
addresses the issue that trucks do the most damage to our roads, but
any
business tax is transfered to the public in the price of the product
to cover
costs. So the real question is what is the fairest and most efficient
method of
providing an adequate funding base for infra- structure.
These are Rumor Mills opinions
on the measures before the voters in Oregon.
But, whether you agree or disagree please:
VOTE!
Your opinion does count!
