Welcome to 7A's Unofficial WebPage, dedicated to bring you up-to-date information on Grammar's top class of '99

1999 is a special year for 7A: it is the year in which both the Headboy and Deputy Head Prefect both come from our class, along with 4 other prefects; it is the year in which three members of our class have been selected for the Physics Olympiad, with only 5 places available to New Zealand students; it is the year in which one member of our class has been selected for the Chemistry Olympiad; and it is the year in which we will be saying farewell to the school we have grown to love (or hate) over the years, and to greet the new millenium (and yet another learning institution in which to spend a large part of our lives) with open arms.

Good Luck for the future guys and I hope we all keep in touch!!! Bookmark this web-site and keep up with the happenings of our class.

Desmond wins Bronze

D. Chik has returned to NZ today from his brain-crunching time in Bangkok. With his 'stunning ensemble', he brings back with him a Chemistry Olympiad Bronze medal. <For furthur detail, see the Overachievers section of this site>.

The Oregon Trail Saga

Who would have ever thought that that lil' old computer game that we all enjoyed in 3rd Form Social Studies would come back to haunt us one last time in our finishing year at school? Haunt?...well, I suppose not. Enriching and inspiring, it has become the new craze for our class of '99.

Catering for the needs of our 'intellectually accomplished' - that is, the members of our Post-Bursary and off-line classes - it has created a new form of competition, pitting friend against friend in an epic struggle for the titles of "Trail-Master"^TM, "Meat-Master"^TM, "Bird-Master"^TM and "Time Jew Minority"^TM.

"Oregon Trail tests you in all the skills you would ever need in everyday life: racing, hunting, time management, strategic planning, ingenuity, and business skills...you just can't beat it" - Jesse Wilson, current Time Jew Minority^TM title holder.

"Six thousand pounds of meat...yeah baby" - Damian Kwok, Meat-Master^TM at his excitement of getting 18 Bison with 20 bullets.

No matter who you ask, evreyone will have their own opinion on the Oregon Trail and their own account of their experiences. It is a game which has stemmed from the boredom of those of us who are lucky enough to have periods off, and in effect, has re-defined the meaning of style. It will surely have its place in our hearts (for however short a time) and most definately in our school Chronicle at the end of the year. Official Rules are planned for release at a later date, stay tuned for more action and excitement on the trail.

Suggestions are now being taken for the image that should head 7A's Unofficial Webpage. Since I've had more than a few comments regarding people's resentment towards Pickachu, I'd be more than happy to put up an image that is more representative of the class. Either e-mail me, or add to the Guestbook. Also, check the new pictures in the Photos section of this webpage for a glimpse of the Post Bursary Bio Camp held earlier this term.

Due to popular request, you'll soon see less of Pikachu on these pages from now on. Please suggest an alternative image for the page in the Guestbook (you can just tell I'm desparate for some entries, can't you?).

Newsflash: Pokémon no more? Pokémon has been axed from its 4 o'clock weekday slot on TV2 in favour of the not-so-watchable cartoon "Cow and Chicken". Although Cow lacks the cuteness of Pikachu, and Chicken the humour, I suppose watching Pokémon re-runs for the 4th (or 5th?) time in a row was getting a bit much. Anyway, for those of you who rushed home everyday for the past who-knows-when just to plonk yourself down in front of the tele (and no, I was not one of those people since I live so far away from school), no hurrys now, huh?

An appropriate figure for the top of your page would be Kane.  I also must note my disappointment at not being acknowledged as the ultimate Bird Master for Oregon Trail.  Otherwise I am very impressed with the page.  Cool.

Hey there ken

I just signed your guess book and all yeah its changed for sure, but really get rid of the pokemon stuff ...it makes 7A looks like a pack of wussies ...which aint a good image ... well right now i'm pretty much living a life of a bum (as i've always have lived) its all good and i might be moving back to auckland next year or sooner which will be cool ... anyways i'll catch ya later dude !
