TAN: Stands for TANgent. The post is not directly related to LMM.

OFF TOPIC: Exactly what it sounds like. An off topic post is one that has nothing whatsoever to do with LMM, but is significant enough to post to the list anyway. Think seriously before posting off-topic material. We're a caring community, but our primary purpose is to discuss LMM.

RTA: Short for Road to Avonlea (Avonlea in the US), a television program based on LMM's books and short stories.

PEI: Stands for Prince Edward Island, LMM's beloved birthplace and the setting of most of her books.

Please utilize these abbreviations when relevant and always make your subject lines clear and simple.

Abbreviations not appearing on this list are probably either general netspeak or shortened versions of book & short story titles.  Check the Guide to Netspeak and the LMM Bibliography for lists of these abbreviations

A Few Requests:

If possible, limit postings to one or two a day.  Please make personal replies privately or include them in a longer message.  This includes replies to requests for help in dealing with the listproc. Also, when replying to a post, only re-post the relevant portion if at all possible. After all, we've already read it once.  The purpose of this is to eliminate unnecessary clutter on the list. 

Please include spoiler warnings when your post could give away a key point of any book, movie, etc. Use your best judgement on what is/is not a spoiler. A death, for example, is almost always a spoiler. Identifying the culprit in a mystery or telling which of several beaux a heroine chooses would also merit a spoiler warning.

Typically this is done by typing

The KS list is not the most appropriate place to share LMM fanfiction. We have a separate KS story club list for that purpose. You can join the story club at http:www.onelist.com/subscribe/StoryClub

Remember these are only guidelines, but your fellow list members will be very grateful if you follow them on a regular basis.
