 Sentire cosi` tante lingue, talune incomprensibili, fondersi in un Inglese stentato e divertente, e capirsi, lavorare e comunicare...forse L'Europa inizia proprio da questo piccolo concetto. Anche quest'anno la carovana multietnica del Servizio Civile Internazionale e` approdata a Ferla in Sicilia sposando un’interessante attività di studio e di lavoro, riscoprendo e valorizzando le antiche tecniche di lavorazione della pietra calcarea della Val di Noto. Pietra che nei secoli e stata plasmata con gusto dagli artisti del mediterraneo, e trasformata con sapienti intarsi nel giardino di pietra che il mondo ci invidia quale e` il centro Barocco di Noto. Impariamo a levigare ed intarsiare i blocchi calcarei seguendo con scrupolo i consigli dell'inflessibile quanto simpatico istruttore. Un Ragazzo Argentino, che trasferitosi ad Avola da qualche anno, conosce benissimo l'arte antica di "cavare" le pietre, ed il nostro dialetto, ma che rifiuta l'Inglese, dice lui, per scelta. Lo spirito che aleggia nel campo e quello di risolvere ogni problema tipico della vita in campeggio con il sorriso tra le labbra ovviamente con dei ritmi vitali notevolmente rallentati a causa dell'eccessiva calura, inusuale per molti dei volontari. Dopo quest’esperienza, anche i nostri ospiti hanno iniziato a condividere i ritmi piuttosto rilassati dei popoli abituati a questo clima. L'organizzazione generale a cura di Paolo Fiore è stata generosa e spesso "caldamente mediterranea", molto flessibile e a misura d'uomo. Le numerose escursioni a Pantalica, Ragusa, Siracusa, e sulle spiagge della costa, hanno alleggerito il rigido calendario dei lavori, regalando ad ogni volontario momenti di relax tra i gioielli dei Monti Iblei. Nonostante le intense giornate di Lavoro sotto il sole Africano che ti morde il collo, la timida frescura serale ci rimette in sesto per vivere la notte. Le notti delle piccole cittadine Iblee e delle frequentatissime coste limitrofe sono infuocate dai ritmi festaioli dell'Estate. . Le sculture prodotte dai volontari in queste due settimane sono state donate, come tessere di un multietnico mosaico, al Comune di Ferla che ha ospitato la manifestazione. Le opere saranno sistemate a cura dell'Amministrazione Comunale tra le antiche mura della città. Un riconoscimento spetta alla A.P.T. (Azienda Provinciale del Turismo) di Siracusa, che ha dimostrato sensibilità verso queste problematiche giovanili. |

Ferla is a small Sicilian village in a unfrequented area, it's inhabitants are really particular and the mixture with an also especial landscape. We have made of this work-camp an unforgettable experience. Thanks to these people we have discovered some interesting places and without their help, the camp wouldn't had been possible. Moreover, our will to offer to the Town our labor that we have been doing for these days. We are very satisfied of our stay and of our work-camp in this summer. Espagnol

For me, the work-camp in Ferla was very beautiful experience. I could do something for another people, meet young people from the other parts of the world. People who specks another languages, are from another culture. Ferla, it is a very small, but very nice and beautiful town. Sicily is for people from my part of Europe very exotic, everything's is another, people, climatic, plants customs. I'm very happy that I'm here..now, I love drawing and sculpture. Polski

About camp in Ferla: Although this is a small town with not a lot chances for doing something on your own in the free-time we had nice time with the group. We did a lot of excursions thanks to the organizator Paolo who really worked hard. There were some misunderstandings with the leader because he was not enough tactful. Work in the camp was beautiful and I didn't really feel as working. I enjoyed it a lot. We had a chance to get to know sculpturing which otherwise surely wont happen. |

I felt myself very well because everybody wanted to be in a good mood and so they contributed to the good harmony of the camp. I think that this work-camp was a "work" of course, a "camp", of course, and a "holiday". A special holiday in a foreign people, if should summarize this experience in only one sentence, I`ll say: "it was like a survival course". Italiano

I'm very satisfied of this work-camp, the group was wonderful, we created super atmosphere, and we had good fun all together. Personally, I didn't like drawing, but I liked sculpture, all did their work. We went for same excursions visiting region.. Noto, Ragusa, Siracusa. I have met also here nice people from Ferla whose helped us very much. Thank you!!! Polski

This work-camp was totally different from that one I took part in last year. At the beginning I didn't like sculpturing and I thought , I wasn't able to make a sculpture however, everything has changed and it turned out I like it. Questo e` stato il mio primo campo di lavoro e devo ammettere che come prima esperienza e` stata davvero buona. Mi piace molto disegnare, ma in quanto a scolpire, non avevo mai provato come tutti gli altri, ed ho subito pensato che non ce la avrei mai fatta in due settimane. Adesso finito il Campo di lavoro e completata la mia scultura, ho avuto l'ennesima conferma che niente e` impossibile se si possiede buona volontà`, tenacia e fantasia... |
