about the flag , see FOTW
The President flag
is originally blue and white. However, and probably from an
artistic view, only
one of four president flags on stamps, are in those colors.
The first two stamp
showing the president flag were in memory of the first
president of Israel
- Haim Weitzman.
The stamp was issued
on Dec. 9, 1952, just short time after the president
passed away and was
designed by Wind-Strusky.
The president flags are in gray and dark brown
It was the only time that the president flag appeared on the stamp itself. From now on the flag will be shown only on the stamp supplement.
The flag appeared in brown on president Ben-Zvi stamp that was issued on April 13, 1964 (Artist M. Krupp); and in black on president Shazar stamp, issued on Aug. 5, 1975 (Artist A. Berg)
However, for unknown reasons, there is only the state emblem on the supplement of president Herzog flag issued in 1998.
The Israel civil ensign... but in green... appeared only on a supplement of one stamp, one of a series of four, known as the "Maritime stamps".
The series was issued
on Jan. 27, 1958
Artist: M. Kroli
