23 Dec 1999 : Wow, Christmas is just around the corner thus marking another year of happiness and achievement for most of us. We should be thankful for what we have attained and strive to be a better person, at least that's the resolution for me.
I've installed a copy of Linux-Mandrake 6.1 on my system and it is now a dual-boot system. Nevertheless, I still prefer the trustworthy Windows 98. I'm at a loss with Linux probably because I'm not that bright as those nerds out there who are so adept at using Linux. Since I'll be learning Unix and Windows programming next year, I thought I might as well give myself a go at Linux.
I'm very happy right now being with my family and all this festive season. I'm slowly building up momentum in my studies and have started reading the books I hauled home with me from Perth. Things are getting better and life is just wonderful.
To all of you out there who are celebrating Christmas and the new year and millennium, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and Happy New Millennium!!!
08 Dec 1999 : It's a long time since I last updated this site. For those who have constantly visiting this site for updates, my apologies. I have been busy resting for the past few weeks. Hopefully I'll be my usual self again very soon. Right now, I'm trying to fiddle with my computer as much as possible in the hope to learn a bit more about Windows 98 SE. I've finally been able to reformat my hard disk after getting my hands on the trusty Zip 250 USB drive which is a darling and a wonderful backup machine. Since it's a recently new gizmo by Iomega, I'd have to fork out a lot of money for it. Anyway, I'm sooo excited by it's presence, it's sleekness and I really admire how small it is. The design and colour is like that of an iMac though I prefer the navy blue color to be brighter. Anyway, I'm currently backing up stuff on my computer... just for the fun of it... well, not really. Oh before I forget, I got myself a new LG 48X CD-ROM drive too. Now Age of Empires II runs very smoothly.
16 Nov 1999 : It has been a few days since I left Perth. I'm now in Penang and am concentrating on eating, sleeping and resting. I haven't started anything productive yet but I suppose that will be done in due time. I have met with (so far) one friend in Penang. We had a great time talking about the past, present and future and also had fun bowling.
I must say that I'm catching up with food faster than I've ever caught up with my studies. Everday, I get to eat something I've craved for throughout the year.
If all goes well, I'll be back in Perth by 22nd February 2000. So, I have three months of free time for myself to do all the things that I've ever wanted to do. Hopefully this long break will turn out well.
I've also bought one game to play - Age Of Empires II. So far, I'm pretty pleased with my selection. One of the greatest games in the past that I enjoyed a lot was Master of Magic. There will be yet another game of a similar genre. It's called Age of Wonders. I can't wait for it to be released.
To all those who have yet to finish their exams, all the best to you and to those who are like me, rotting away at home doing very little, enjoy yourself and be happy.
