Significance of the name Sanctuary of Light and Wisdom
I named it 'sanctuary' because it is a place of peace and safety. It protects the good and keeps out the evil and thus is a place of refuge on the net. (This is in accordance to the definition from the Collins Cobuild English Dictionary, 1995 - 'A sanctuary is a place of safety and refuge for people')

It also contains the word 'light' which means that this place does not delve on evil but on goodwill and seeks to help improve the human race. It allows people to get in touch with their emotions, which today becomes somewhat embarrassing to have.

The word 'wisdom' means that this place is a collection of wisdom. It is important to note that I do not claim to be wise. This collection is in the form of stories, poetry, etc. (This is in accordance to the definition from the Collins Cobuild English Dictionary, 1995 - 'Wisdom is the store of knowledge that a society or culture has collected over a long period of time')

Aims and Objectives
Sanctuary Of Light and Wisdom is a place for relaxation and entertainment. It is religion-free. It is a place that provides the web adventurer with two paths, to go for the mundane or the arcane. Here, the adventurer can surf areas of interest to most people as well as delve deeper into the spiritual side of mankind. The important aspect to note is that 'we do not know' what lurks inside us. Thus, it is up to us to give ourselves a chance to explore what this world has to provide.

I've also created this web home as a means to help my friends understand me better. I believe that (most of the time), a web home is worth a thousand pictures.

I try not to conform with the practices of other web designers. Indeed, you may find certain areas a bit mundane. But, there are certain areas that are a bit extraordinary. For example, this site has a number of secret hidey holes for the curious adventurer to wander into. I tried to keep my web home as simple as could be without having to sacrifice the 'feeling of goodness'. I hope it is as appealing to you as it is to me.

The aims in general are:
1. Means of getting to know the author.
2. My own entertainment site.
3. Information for the prospective employer.
4. Store of information (though not complete) about my life.
5. One of the means of letting others keep in touch with me.
6. A store of up-to-date contact information on the web.
7. Means of expression on the web.
8. An expression of artistic and creative values.

I strive for excellence in the preparation of this site. My aim is to provide you with accurate and up-to-date information. However, I do not claim that this site is error-free. If you want to look for truly academic material, I suggest you look at some other sites that claim 100% accuracy and has been proof read by a third party.

History
Sanctuary of Light and Wisdom was first conceived as a historical site on the web. Hence, it was purported to be millenniums old. The site has great value as a tourist attraction. The beauty of this site is ineffable. The curator (that's me) puts in effort inexhaustibly to make this a site of quality and heritage.

However, as millenniums pass by, the site needed a face lift. Hence, it has been renovated in September 2000 to become more accessible to tourists. Previously, many wanderers have lost their way in this huge site. Hopefully, with signboards everywhere, this will no longer happen.

Nevertheless, places of irreplaceable beauty such as The Garden of Relaxation has been preserved. This may compromise on the conformity and standardisation of the site but I trust this to be the best option available.

Other attractions such as The Towers of Emotions and The Pool of Reflection are still of great value today.

This site is a great improvement from my first homepage.
